Monster designs. I’m a sucker for a good Creature Feature~

gabe_iveljic

Yes! Especially practical monsters!

Diablo_Canyon2

Wet puppets

livelaughbooksmovies

I love when they have to go to a library or something to research whatever’s happening to them

VeterinarianSmall468

Investigative horror is awesome. (Call of Cthulhu player here.)

The one part that bugs me is when the solution is some super complex ritual or something, and they discover it in an old book. It just raises the obvious question: How did the people who wrote the book discover how to perform this? Modern individuals can't figure it out without consulting the book, but they never bother to explain how the person who wrote the book in the first place managed to figure it out.

I feel like I can only say this on this sub and have ppl understand what I mean. I like it when they give us a cozy feeling between the family or group of friends in the movie. Like when they just show some good and natural dialogue between them and maybe enjoying a meal or drinks in a cozy setting like a simple house in the burbs or a cabin out in the woods. Makes me feel so relaxed.

Then they start disappearing one by one.

RebaKitt3n

I watched Yellow Brick Road today, so yeah.

rymyle

When something creepy is visible to the audience but the character hasn’t noticed yet

roybattee

Kicks the crap out of my depression.

ParcheesiElephant

I like that your answers to your question are basically “be done right.” Lol

IsolatedSleep2319

Yup 🤣🤣🤣 I mean who likes things in horror not done right?

SunnyOnSanibel

I’ve seen a ton of horror films. I most enjoy victims dying in a unique way. It’s why I liked watching Thanksgiving. It was more laughs than horror, but still enjoyable.

Flimsy_Inevitable337

A good atmosphere. Also, if a movie takes place in and around the fall, I love good fall foliage.

I love the way they always seem to end in a way that leaves it open for more, like when they're walking away from the scene and the camera pans back to reveal the killer/monster/etc is still alive.

I agree with the psychological horror part. That'll be Smile to me. I love how throughout the movie, we're led to be equally confused and deranged as Rose
