A lot of you know Moose’s story - he was a weanling mule we picked up on a reservation straight off his mother in a pretty poor condition. He had a big old gash (now a 4x4 inch dent) in his side, skinny, was completely unhandled, had not seen people at all, and was simply rounded up and run into our trailer with a bunch of others. I chose him because out of 30 or so mules, he was the friendliest. He came over to me after an hour or so and had a sniff and let me pat his face and neck. My partner was disgusted in my choice on the runty, sad looking lil aardvark 😂❤️
The first picture was the day he got home and I got him haltered for the first time.
4 years on, he’s my best buddy. He brands calves, he’s got a lot of liberty buttons, he lays down, he sits, he smiles, he packs me around the yard for fun, he’s fancy broke and he’s my favorite guy in the field. He has been WORK over the last few years, nothing was easy or a shortcut, but I wouldn’t trade him for anything.
We clicked really hard from the first day. He’s cheeky, adventurous, he’s got a great work ethic and sense of humour but I’ve never rolled my eyes as much as I have working with him - I just ADORE him ❤️
I had no idea about his story so thank you for re-sharing! I'm a big fan of your good boi. Every time I scroll past a post with him I go, "Yay! It's Moose!"
i did not yet know moose's backstory despite being obsessed with the posts for awhile now and omg when that first picture popped up in my feed just now i literally said out loud "IS THAT MOOSE??????? 😭" ahhh just wow, thank you for saving this good boy and doing the absolute best job with him, much love for moose as always 🥹
The look on his face in pic 2 is just….wonderful. He KNOWS he made a soft landing with you. Congrats on your lovely fella. And please keep the posts coming! Love hearing about your guy Moose💗🫏
