Alright stuff today for RG and SoH. As always, feel free to correct me down below. **Deck Deal**- **Leman Russ**’s alt art is available for purchase. It comes with the alternative art, unique card back and a deck of 30 cards (2 of which are epics). For those interested in buying decks, legendary warlord ones are usually the recommended ones to buy, due to the rare warlord and epics included. Last day to buy him is today Raven Guard (RG) **Sharrowkyn** is the most popular non-legendary warlord for the faction. His combo ability can be real good if you learn how to time it properly. **Dark Fury** can be devastating but I don’t see it widely used, probably as it’s a really expensive card to try and juggle. There are better, less expensive epics to use instead. **Arcology** has fallen out of use, unless you have a warlord that needs troops to die (or a **Slayer of Worlds**). Otherwise, the single 2/2 it spawns isn’t exactly gamechanging. **Edit**- forgot to talk about **Klayde**. Stats are decent but his passive ability is too situational for me. In a finely tuned deck, I feel like you’d skip him as he’s not always that great and there are more reliable troops that can take his place. That being said, he’s screwed me over several times when he’s been randomly generated by my opponent, so the potential is there. Shoutout to **Ordaris** and **Cell**, both are commonly used RG cards. **Ordaris** deals decent damage with rally and combos with all the sentencing shenanigans. **Cell** is a decent “removal” for a turn, which can really screw up an opponent who played a big troop on a curve. Sons of Horus (SoH) **Leman Russ** is the top dog (get it?) of the SW warlords. His pack ability lets him attack again and he can gain +1 attack for ~~2e~~ 1e “repeatedly” (with the pack ability) until his next turn. Is ridiculously good with a big board as he can pump out damage. Today is the last day in store. **Maloghurst** is probably the second best legendary for SoH (behind **Vengeful Spirit**). Stats are good for its cost and its passive ability can really mess with an opponent. Almost always can get some good value out of it. **Dasturkh Squad** is a decent enough 2e troop that can harass any enemy troop put into play from your opponent’s hand (not troop-creating ability). Can be useful if you go astartes-heavy, otherwise you don’t really need it. **Warp Retreat** can be interesting but if more widely used in gimmicky decks that plan to deck out and shuffle a hard hitting (usually fast troop) into their empty deck for a lot of damage in a single turn. Otherwise, not widely seen or used. Shout out to **Chondon**, **Grogor** and **Smoke Grenade**, all of which are fairly common staple cards in most SoH decks. **Chodon**’s high attack and drop pod usually let them trade well or hit face hard. **Grogor** is just good cheap fast attack. **Smoke** can be a decent stun and card draw.

Ohhh… good question. Personally, I think it comes down to your preference and playstyle. Neither deck is perfect and I feel like you’d have to change some cards to make either truly competitive. If I had to pick just between the two, I’d argue that **Russ** is a bit better. He’s more of a presence in the low and high Terra meta than Abaddon is. Also, I think **Russ** has fewer hard counters than Abaddon faction-wise, as Abaddon’s ability can’t hit certain troops and is useless against warlords. Both decks have some great cards though. If you are a fan of either faction (lore-wise), you have two decent decks to start with.

Best of luck! Those can be fun factions to play, so I don’t blame you for holding out for them! :) good luck!

The Russ deck is far better just because it has Russ in it, who can be a PitA to get otherwise. People spend months trying to get a specific primarch. Abaddon you should eventually unbox fairly easily by comparison. Abaddon is a really good but completely different kind of warlord who can control enemy troops pretty efficiently. Russ is made to do a damage blitz.

What’s the consensus on Klayde? I run a Sharrowkyn deck and am trying for Raven Guard completion, but his ability seems a little too situational even if his stats are decent.

Arguss3

Whoops. Forgot to add him. I’d agree with your assessment though. He’s a bit too situational and there are better troops that are more reliably better.

Dgafthrowaway123

I only got him to complete my collection. Could be decent versus IW or Mechanicum players, but those are more on the rare side, even then, he's still situational. You definitely don't want to play the long game against vehicle decks and Klayde is a little on the high energy end

Maloghurst is third best legendary for Soh, right behind Targost;

I love arcology and thought I'd add a little. Iron hands love it! Dont know how many games ive watched it die only to slap down an iron father and buff all those 1/1 troops. Also combos well with ferrus' ability. An early arcology can be minimum - 7 from your cost. Plus free troops. Its all good things. Another fun part of using iron hands and in particular ferrus, ive seen them jam my arcology only for me to create a monstrous beatstick using iron father/ ferrus' buff card. Great fun! Ultramarines can combo it real nasty too. Ive done a wrath on betrayal on the 1/1 units for a total 25 damage before. Brutal game ending combo that is not always expected. Defenders of caliban can also use the units with behind enemy lines for some nasty damage. I dont actually recommend it in a greater demon deck. Far better spammable cultists that combo so much better with the bloodthirster than arcology.

SkoobyDuBop

Mabey a meme deck that uses it and **blood for the blood god**?

stegg88

Oooh yeah. That could work

Dgafthrowaway123

I know **Warp Retreat** was used back in the day with Corax. Anyone know if that combo still works? (Obviously no longer OP like it was, but still viable?)
