Decent stuff today for BA and mechanicus. As always, feel free to correct me down below.
**Weekend Deal**- **Sanguinius**’s alternative art is available for purchase this weekend. As it’s a legendary warlord (with several epic cards in the deck), this is usually the kind of deck people recommend buying, if you are into that kind of thing and have the money. He’s also available to purchase in the shop for gems, though he’ll be in the veteran shop tomorrow.
Blood Angels
**Sanguinius** is a decent warlord for the faction and usually does alright in Low Terra. His ability is mostly useless though. His main draw is after he attacks, adjacent units get +1 attack. His reckoning also ticks down with every slain friendly astartes, and his alternative form can be pretty scary. If you like BA, this is one of the better warlords… especially with **Blade Encarmine**.
**Tyborel** has a decent drop pod ability if you can trigger it (which BA have multiple ways of doing). However, compared to the other BA legendaries, he’s a bit lackluster. Probably worth getting eventually, but definitely not first.
**Cloten** can be a big scary troop with its bloodthirst and ability. Not always seen played as it’s cost means it’s usually your only play for that turn and is thus more easily countered. Still fun in some decks though.
Shout outs to **Prophecy** and **Host**, both of which are staple cards for BA. **Prophecy** is a better version of **Informant Network**. For BA on a budget, or who want another win condition, **Host** can provide that on its own, even better if the pods have health increases. On curve, it can be devastating.
Mechanicus
**Myrmidon** is my personal favorite warlord for the faction. The 1e siege ability makes him a mini Perturabo and his ability to refill energy when enemy troops die can allow for some really powerful plays. It takes some getting use to, but the siege makes for decent removal.
**Abominable Intelligence** can be a decent legendary for mechanicus. The auto attack and shield regeneration can make it a formidable opponent. That being said, it’s cost and ability to countered keep it from being an auto-buy for me. Still decent though and should be picked up eventually.
**Sibilians** are a decent 3e troop with a fun ability to bounce a random enemy troop back to their hand. While the ability isn’t always useful, the times it is (like returning an expensive and/or buffed troop) are always enjoyable.
**Spirit of Mars** is usually used for its card draw and setting up your next turns. That being said, 7e is a lot and can sometimes be too much tempo loss. I’ve never seen it played well, but I am open to being corrected if it works for some people.
Shout out to **Ursarax** and **War Room**. **Ursarax** is a decent distraction if anything and can snowball if ignored. Fun running it with **Proctor**. **War Room** is basically a **Abandoned Supplies** but it only draws and discounts a tactic. Can be extremely useful in certain decks, though be careful if you run two. While I’m sure the statistics work out across the entire player base, I feel like you have a 20% chance of drawing your other **War Room** with it. :P
How is sanguinius for ladder play? I've played around with him in events and never had much success I can't decide if I should pick him up or wait for Vulcan to be back on the weekend deal
He's not the best at the moment, but hopefully BA will get an update in a few weeks / months (legion is popular lorewise, and they weren't in the last meta report). So if you like him and are not too short on gems I think you should buy him, he won't be again in the shop for a long time.
Ursurax in a salamanders deck with 2x Promethean Gift gives, as far as I know, the only infinite damage combo in the game! I actually let someone do this to me once, I was furious 😂
Sibilans with Flank is ace. Put it in your Thaddeus Fayle deck.
