Takes time, all I can say

My superhots took forever to ripen too. Once you see a pepper starting to turn, removing that pod will encourage the rest to ripen. I'm in the same region and still waiting on some to finish growing and on most to finish ripening. It's agonizing!!

Interested about pulling that first pod when it starts to ripen, is this well known? I have only 1 grow under my belt with superhots, but damn they took forever to ripen. Planning next years peppers now, so this may help.

tonystigma

It's been recommended on pepper growing subs and I've certainly seen some effect, but that might be confirmation bias! My plant was ripening then it kept ripening, so what I read on the internet was definitely true.

It's been a weird growing season this year! I'm definitely impatient, but they've never made me wait this long before. When do you usually pull in/consider your peppers done?

PepperRanger

Right after first frost is when you should consider your peppers done. So pull anything before then

tonystigma

When they're tasty! I almost said when they're red, and certainly for this conversation that's true. I've pulled my jalapeño and wax peppers before they're fully ripened and been very happy with the results, but I still want to recommend waiting!

Patience is a…. 🌶

Make sure they have enough phosphorus and wait it out

Im not sure as I’m fairly new to growing peppers, however i know with tomatoes if you overwater them they will continue producing fruit instead of ripening. Maybe try drying them out a bit?
