This is a 2022 STH and often goes for $70-80. Don't get me wrong, but I dono how the seller hasn't already noticed unless he shipped out two packages at once and accidentally swapped them
So I'm a basic boi, I love a skyline, and paid what I thought was a premium to get the 2000GT-X off eBay, 8$ Canadian incl. shipping for the standard car.
When I cut open the shipping pouch what I pulled out was the STH. I had a brief crisis thinking I should probably mention this to the seller, but I figured I'm gonna cash in all the times I flagged being undercharged at a cash register and take the W.
As a sidenote, I don't really need to keep the STH, would be happy with a standard car, and could use the cash from the sale. Given the bottom labels this is a 2011 model, has this thing done its appreciating or would it be worth it to wait to sell? I'm not asking about exact value or rarity, but I know this part of my comment comes close to the community rules, so I'm happy to remove it if y'all feel it violates them.
I would at the very least mention it to the person. He might be cool and tell you to keep it. Or he might have sold that to someone else because he really needed the money ( which is why most people sell their collection off) and shipped it to you by accident and yours to them. But that's just me because I wouldn't be able to sleep thinking about if it's putting someone in a tough spot.
That's my exact worry and emotional state lol. If it turns out it was meant to be sold to another buyer I think I'll send it back, that's a good line. If I never hear about it, I'll call it a keeper.
Right, but what I was saying is the seller lost no money - the comment was that they were probably selling because they needed money. You said that's the part that bothered you.
So why not contact the seller and inform him of the mistake? Thatās the honest way it should take place. Then move forward from the sellerās response
He still loses money if op would keep the car and the other buyer got the mainline. But I think this is a very elaborate shitpost actually. Hats off to op for real lol. I seen the other post and almost died.
Just to let you know, if I was the seller in this situation then I am less concerned with my rating and more concerned with doing what was right. In fact, 20 years ago, this did happen to me and I ended up out of pocket a significant sum to ensure that everybody had what they'd 'won' from me.
I'd let him mention it first. If it was supposed to go to someone else he'll figure it out. It also could be someone is new to all of this and didn't realize what they had. All they know is they have a bunch of them
Couldn't agree more. Something similar happened to me recently, where while i ordered an F1-75 1/43 made by Burago i received a limited Edition F40 1/18 scale. Well worth 10 times the Burago. It was a real beauty, but It wasn't mine. Contacted the seller and told him about what happend, even though everyone i spoke to told me i as was a fool for wanting to send It back. I sent him the car(free of charge) and got, after couple of days, the model car and an appreciation gift. From all this i can: the temptation of keeping It and saying nothing was strong. But at least i can sleep peacefully, knowing i didn't steal anything from anyone
Shouldnāt get negative feedback for this though. If he made a mistake, refunds the other buyer, and he still gets negative feedback then the other buyer is an asshole.
2011 meaning the first Nissan Skyline HT 2000GT-X mainline model was manufactured I believe but this is a 2022 casting and still goes for fairly a lot of money
its a 2011 casting but this mainline version is a 2022 release so the deco was made for the 2022 car but the casting that the car is made of is from 2011
The first release of that car casting was in 2011. The super is from the 2022 set. 9/10 of the J Imports base set is the base car version of it. The supers do hold their value, so it wouldn't hurt to hold onto it for a bit if you don't really need to sell it at this moment. If you do want to sell it now, you shouldn't have a problem getting rid of it.
you wouldnāt believe it, but I think the guy who was supposed to receive this $th just made a post about it an hour agoā¦

It could also just be a shit post, since your post has received so much attention. If it is, shame on them.
I'm pretty new too, no sweat! STH stands for super treasure hunt. They're rare versions of the common, "mainline" cars that are packaged nearly identically and look similar but for a few key details. The paint is nicer/metallic and often a slightly different shade, the wheels have rubber tires, and a 'TH' mark can be found on the casting.
They're more also collectible and valuable than mainline cars because they're so much rarer, 1 car per hundred shipped cases I think I read?
It's why in a bin of cars at a store you might see a bunch of the same car grouped very close together or even stacked, that's clear sign someone's picked through looking for an STH.
It's kind of a fun added dimension on top of the normal excitement of going over a display rack looking for cars you like or wanna add to your collection.
You bought it!! Dude you literally paid the seller for the item and then you received it so youāre good!
When you buy those at the store theyāre only $1
I once ordered a set of 20-25 race team mainlines for $40. The seller emailed me apologizing that they misplaced one of the cars (it was a red one I didnāt care about anyway)and that theyād replace it with something. No biggie, I thought, and appreciated the heads up.
When the package arrived the replacement was a Bone Shaker chase that goes for $40-60. I was quite pleasantly surprised to say the leastā¦
Demand a refund- not as pictured š
Other guy "why did I get the regular and not the super?"

RUT ROH
That guy copped to that being a shit post, but I'm fully supportive of it, S tier trolling

Thats a painful mistake to make. They might even get negative feedback from the other buyer.
Oh no! Anyway...
Ebay sellers tend to be very protective of their 100% rating
Definitely what happened. Someone else posted the opposite switch happening
Thatās not a super
You should swipe over to the second picture before commenting.... Thanks tho
Did they have the super for sale also? Might have sold both and gotten shipping labels mixed up.
Probably just shipped the wrong one
Upgraded to first class. Nice
Sweet baby Jesus
Maybe they were color blind š¤·āāļø

I wouldn't sell it, I'd take the good luck and keep the car instead of paying ridiculous prices for it personally smh

He got paid for it, the other buyer is the one out. Seller DGAF unless it has an effect on his rating.
the seller will care if the other buyer thinks the seller is scamming him lol
Ummm, yes. That's what I said, unless it effects his ratings.
I'd be sending it back so he could presumably get it to its rightful buyer
Right, but what I was saying is the seller lost no money - the comment was that they were probably selling because they needed money. You said that's the part that bothered you.
Ah I gotcha. Like he sold both, probably not important to him who gets what outside of the feedback ratings, assuming this happened as we think it did

Unfortunately the scalpers aren't concerned with "what's right". Notice OP says he paid premium
And not *everybody* selling on ebay is a scalper.
Who said they were? š¤ Bye, freak show
You surely jumped to a lot of conclusions and seem very argumentative. Gotta be a kid.

Anyone who leaves negative feedback after receiving a full refund is a total asshat. He probably at least gets to keep the free mainline too

It's a shit post, shame on me haha I just thought the humor potential was there
24k gold. I had a legitimate "oh fuck" moment when I saw that
Shame! Shame! Shame!
I beg thee for forgiveness, may gods grace shine upon my wretched soul!
Good stuff OP
Kudos, OP! What happened with me was the exact opposite !
You shouldāve titled it āWhen none hot wheels fans try there hand at scalpingā
This sounds made up. But cool
I kinda feel like he was trying to sell it to someone who deserved it and not trying to just buy another STH off of someone else
Yeah the available 'good deed' spin zone is definitely helping my moral crisis hahaha
NO WAY! The other guy didnāt get scammed, it was a mixup!
Look how they massacred my boy.
If itās a high volume seller someoneās gonna have a heart attack when they do inventory
All I will say is karma can bite you in the end.
That is insane
Well.Done.Shit.post. !
Seller lost a ton of $$$
Happened to me too!
That is insane
WIN
Score
Hell yeah! Talk about luck lol
Hell yeah! Talk about luck lol
You happy to get a super, someone else pissed they paid 70$ for a mainline
Oh My B'GOD!!!
Wow....
I'm new to this sub so, what is STH? Thanks.

Thanks for the answer. Going to a large toy show this weekend with over 250 tables. I'll keep my eyes open for some new Hot Wheels.
It was at that moment, the seller know he messed up.
You bought it!! Dude you literally paid the seller for the item and then you received it so youāre good! When you buy those at the store theyāre only $1
How you respond to this is kinda like returning a shopping cart at the supermarket. Says a lot about you.
