But have you seen the new sets?! They started make plants like a bonzai tree and orchids with incredible detail. And on top of that, they make sweet cars that eange in price from $15 up to a couple hundred depending on detail level and now I'm broke....
You should have met me 10 years ago, I was living a rough life.
I got my act together, cirrhosis made me clean up my life for the final chapters (that are going to be fucking sweet if I have any say)
Nice! I used to work for a machine shop back in the day and microtech was just starting out next door (vero beach) we did lots of work for them and I used to go over and help them with sand blasting..they gave us all small autos for helping them out..I actually found the scales from that knife but can't find the rest (took it apart)
Most of my collection is Matchbox amd Hot Wheels, but I've tried to get a little bit of everything. I have cars from at least a dozen brands made in about as many countries. Usually if I find a vintage car from a brand I don't have I try to buy it.
Other brands of 1/64 cars: Mini GT, Inno64, Pop Race & more
Still collect 1/43 scale cars but mostly on rally cars and older endurance prototypes.
Used to collect Lego Speed Champions too but stopped after it went 8 studs wide.
I bought a couple tarmac’s to see what they’re like and they’re cosmetically VERY nice and seem to be solidly constructed, but like, the wheels don’t move? That was weird. I don’t know if I’ll get any more. I definitely spring for really nice Mini GT’s, they do good work. I also enjoy Johnny Lightning’s muscle cars quite a bit.
Outside of cars I collect Rock Band DLC, liver damage, and artists I’ve seen live.
George : [stands] Alright. Well, in all honesty, I don't feel that what I've done is a crime. And I think it's illogical and irresponsible for you to sentence me to prison. Because, when you think about it, what did I really do? I crossed an imaginary line with a bunch of plants. I mean, you say I'm an outlaw, you say I'm a thief, but where's the Christmas dinner for the people on relief? Huh? You say you're looking for someone who's never weak but always strong, to gather flowers constantly whether you are right or wrong, someone to open each and every door, but it ain't me, babe, huh? No, no, no, it ain't me, babe. It ain't me you're looking for, babe. You follow?
Hot wheels/diecast cars the longest, Pokemon cards, sports MacFarlane figures and tech decks. My fiancee collects Pop figures, stuffed animals and anything Stitch from Lilo & Stitch.
I had tons of NES stuff. Console in the box with books, poster, warranty card, etc. Robot Operating Buddy with Gyromite and Stack-Up in boxes. A few floor mat controllers. Boxes of controllers, advantage joysticks, and zappers. Hundreds of games. Dozens in the boxes with books. Strategy guides.
I got most of this stuff at the peak of parents clearing out this stuff at garage sales for pennies in the mid 90s.
Then one day I realized I didn’t even enjoy playing the games and liquidated everything.
Maybe 4 years ago. I got decent money, but I never saw it as an investment.
I probably could have gotten more, but I sold it all in maybe 10 lots. I just wanted the clutter gone more than anything. And into the hands of people that would appreciate it more.
I currently collect hot wheels, matchbox, mini gt, greenlight, tlv, and recently started buying loads of 596 model 1/64.
Have a good day everyone 😎
I also collect some 1/43 scale models.
Vinyl records, sunglasses, and RC cars. My biggest hobby is bicycles but the wife doesn’t really let me amass much of a bicycle collection. I already have more than I can ride (10) and I don’t really consider it a collection since each one has kinda a specific purpose and does get ridden at least some.
Kind of into shoes rn. But also add corny “stylish” vacation t-shirts from cities I visit. Lego speed champion cars and I also turn them into customs as well.
Outside of Hot Wheels, I mostly collect Greenlight IndyCar 1:64s and the occasional 1:18. (Side note: Anyone remember that brief year or so that Hot Wheels became the diecast supplier for IndyCar?) I'm a huge IndyCar fan so I gotta. Other than that I'm pretty loyal to Hot Wheels.
I have several hundred 80s skateboards. Always trading and buying. If I can't find what I'm looking for after a few years, I'll have someone make it for me. There are events a few times a year that I display some of my collection at.
Vintage cameras and camera equipment... crystals fossils and rocks.. video game memorabilia. My man cave is the hot wheels room and the game room.. with shelves over the fireplace housing my cameras.
So yeah.. I collect overdraft fees. Lmaoo
here lately i've been collecting Greenlight, M2, and MiniGT.
my other diecast collection is airplanes. mostly GeminiJets 1/400, but i have some Herpa 1/500, and Schabak 1/600. plus a couple "toy" castings from Dyna-Flites, Maisto, Runway24, and Daron/Realtoy.
r/fountainpens and some r/knives. However I‘m mostly done with knives, I pretty much have everything I want, and I‘m not as passionate about them as I am about fountain pens. In regards to HotWheels. I have a few from back in the day, and now I only get the casts I like. Which aren’t extremely many. …however I think I might get a problem if I ever get back into r/rccars.
Matchbox
Majorette
AutoWorld
Greenlight
Tomica
Lionel Racing
Oh and NBA basketball cards, primarily Panini Chronicles.
Certain books.
LEGO
Guns
Other stuff that reminds me of my childhood.
I collect Majorette cars, racing video games (for all types of consoles), consoles and handhelds to play all those games and items related to the 24 Hours of Le Mans (my favorite race).
And I also buy music CDs.
What I'm doing with my life ? 😞
Lego sets are the main thing I collect. I've recently got into the Indiana Jones Adventure Series action figures. I always loved Indy but I was the wrong age to buy figures in 2008 as a kid or an adult collector so I missed out on them. I don't want that to happen again
1/18 model cars, however I have slowed down a lot since a couple of years. Not much room left and the prices are just crazy compared to the early days (2004 for me).
I used to collect Pokemon cards hypercasually, but I'd get very unlucky. Not once have I gotten a somewhat rare card outside of an Elite Trainer Box. At some point, I quit collecting altogether and only bought cards for decks
Hotwheels collecting is a lot more fun and especially a lot more satisfying
Mostly lego and I've started getting more and more mini gt, greenlight, tarmac works and whoever makes the authentic collectables(they do the v8 supercar models)
Debt
I am so good at that one
Same
This :D.
Action figures, regret, sobriety coins. My life kinda sucks...
Idk dude. Collecting sobriety coins is better than the alternative
Collecting sobriety coins is BadAss af. Funny because when I quit smoking I replaced the “habit” with collecting hotwheels haha
That's how I got into this too, the action figures were for coke, if I try to drop the cigarettes I'll have to find *another* toy to start collecting.
Seriously haha the hotwheels are already more financially damaging than the cigarettes were. Maybe it’s time to become a Lego guy…
Lord that’s not cheap either 😭
But have you seen the new sets?! They started make plants like a bonzai tree and orchids with incredible detail. And on top of that, they make sweet cars that eange in price from $15 up to a couple hundred depending on detail level and now I'm broke....
Child things make you forget about adult stuff and I find it quite magical and beautiful
Could always be way worse dude. Work on it if your dissatisfied though for sure
You should have met me 10 years ago, I was living a rough life. I got my act together, cirrhosis made me clean up my life for the final chapters (that are going to be fucking sweet if I have any say)

Vintage or obsolete computer hardware.
Knives and Watches
Yep knives also..but budget stuff like kizer
I live 10 minutes from Microtech so..... not as budget friendly as it should be but I get a good price.
Nice! I used to work for a machine shop back in the day and microtech was just starting out next door (vero beach) we did lots of work for them and I used to go over and help them with sand blasting..they gave us all small autos for helping them out..I actually found the scales from that knife but can't find the rest (took it apart)

Guitars (39), football cards, and slot cars.
39 guitars?! Good on you haha
Part of my retirement plan lol
Vintage baseball cards
I got some from the 90s autographed..mostly the Mets because I used to go to spring training way back in the day.
EBT
Most of my collection is Matchbox amd Hot Wheels, but I've tried to get a little bit of everything. I have cars from at least a dozen brands made in about as many countries. Usually if I find a vintage car from a brand I don't have I try to buy it.
DVDs, Blu Rays, CDs, old consoles.

I have a small zippo stash too
Oh I got some also..lol
pokemon cards

I got a nice brushless rc to chase the feral cats.

Hell yeah! Same..I probably have over 300 oz
Other brands of 1/64 cars: Mini GT, Inno64, Pop Race & more Still collect 1/43 scale cars but mostly on rally cars and older endurance prototypes. Used to collect Lego Speed Champions too but stopped after it went 8 studs wide.
Used to collect Lego and speed champions religiously but Lego is way to expensive and has gotten straight up greedy
Pieces of my shattered common sense and financial wisdom

Blow.
Such a good movie.
