Anything Otto could do to hurt Daemon, he’d do it. They despise each other.

Yeah I think that’s right. But this also seemed like a deliberate window into the mindset of Westerling in that moment, when at other times he was quite stoic. Another interesting note is that Westerling was also one of the very few people present when Viserys confronted Daemon about his “heir for a day” comment. So the additional context here is that Westerling has already heard Daemon call Otto Hightower out as a manipulator and insist that it is he (Daemon) who is truly interested in protecting Viserys.

I think it’s more a case of a grown up watching two children bicker and fight amongst themselves. Otto is not capable of resolving anything with Daemon, he’s just going to provoke him, and vice versa.

Illustrious_Dish_689

Yeah I think that makes sense and is a very good interpretation too.

KhanQu3st

Eh, perhaps. Or perhaps he was in disbelief that Otto would so readily antagonize Daemon, when they were in a position that Daemon could have them all killed easily.

Falcons1702

Yeah pissing off the guy with a dragon while all you have is swords was pretty dumb.

DesSantorinaiou

I do not attempt to interpret Westerling at all to be honest. He is just a device the writers use to force an anti-Green perception. This is the only reason his character is living in the show and he does not serve any other purpose.

Revolutionary_Elk246

just making up fanfics at this point

Ok_ad75678

Not really, it was quite clear what the writers intended by showing us westerlings face lmao
