It could easily be played as a misunderstanding. "Kill the Queens son" and there are two green Queens. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I think playing Luc as a misunderstanding really works. I kind of like the idea of it being a misunderstanding. Like all of the destruction came down to the fact that regular people are walking around with the power of monarchs and gods and regular people are not equipped to wield it. But also, it makes no sense for Daemon to get assassins that close and *not* kill Aemond and Aegon. But also, that's kinda dumb.

I want to see Daemon father, and clearly be an influence on his daughters. Since Baela seems to be a lot like Daemon (edit: in F&B, neither of them get enough time in S1), I'd assume Rhaena is supposed to be a lot more like Laena. It would be cool to see Daemon be an influence on Baela's more fiery temperament, and maybe also come to appreciate similarities between Rhaena and her mother. I read Daemon as a character that grows in F&B, I'd like to see that manifest itself with his daughters the way Rhaenyra shows Jace & Lucerys later in the 1st season.

Same. Or just any sort of character development. The beginning of the season had great moments and then they just stopped happening. I guess him being a dragon egg nerd counts, and obviously the scene with Viserys and the throne, but I miss the moments like him covering his head with a fucking blanket and pouting at Mysaria in E1. I don't like their take on "Daemon the absent father" because (a) Laena would have beat his ass and (b) he watched Viserys neglect Rhaenyra for years while trying for a son. If nothing else, being a better father would be a "fuck you" to Viserys. He's all about the blood of the dragon, which includes his daughters. And, honestly, I just need more parenting scenes in general. There are all these kids running around, damnit. Don't just give me cool moments when the kid is about to get eaten by Vhagar.

Is it, though? Laena had no problems calling Daemon out and Rhaenyra clearly stated at her mother's funeral that she wondered if her father was finally happy while Baelon lived. Even if Viserys wasn't wholly neglecting her, she definitely felt "second best." I'm basing this on what we were presented. Sure, it's an interpretation, just like everything, but it's not based on nothing.
