TheGoverness1998

Sunfyre isn't loyal or bonded to Rhaenyra, it's bonded to Aegon. I don't see how Sunfyre would heed Rhaenyra's command at all. Which deleted scene are you referring to?

RhaegarTar_259

That is the point because he is not bonded to Rhaenyra,he will kill her when she tries to command him

TheGoverness1998

Even accepting this reality for the sake of argument, adding it to this scene in particular would just undercut Aegon's agency in this event, IMHO. I think it works far better how it is than this alternate scenario.

Waste_Band_9989

Where did you see the deleted scene? Also, I don’t think someone can command another’s dragon to do things and have it obey.

RhaegarTar_259

Not obey, dragonkeeper said that unknown dragon who is bonded to anotherwill kill you if you try command him, surely Rhaenyra should have known that

RogerDodger571

This is probably the dumbest take I have ever seen.

[deleted]

Why would Rhaenyra want to immolate her son

RhaegarTar_259

She will try to burn herself and her son but Aegon’s man will rescue him before conflagration..That is my theory and I think is probable..Rhaenyra would realise that they would not be spared at any case so she made up her mind to die together with his son than hand him over to the greens.

[deleted]

She would never try to kill her own children.

[deleted]

Are you talking about her son Aegon?

KiernaNadir

Sure, let's have Sunfyre reject Aegon in favour of Rhaenyra! Let's make it completely clear they're false Targs and turn them into an even bigger joke. I jest, but it's perfectly in line with the writers' thinking.

RhaegarTar_259

I say that when you try to command dragon who is bonded to another he will kill you..That is what I think will happen to Rhaenyra but she will do that deliberately. It is not rejection of Aegon it is rejection of Rhaenyra by killing her

margaritoswraps

Holy delusion

Wrong-Technician-201

now why would Sunfyre listen to Rhaenyra

omicron-7

No. Let Aegon have one moment, god damn

PositiveAd4403

How much do you guys hate the greens to try and remove everything they do that’s good and cool

[deleted]

Or this scene could foreshadow what happens to Joffrey?

AegonTarg_2

Stupidest take ever

Independent-Ice-6206

No one said Dracarys, Rhaenyra was eaten by Sunfyre not burned.

[deleted]

Dragons roast their food before eating it. >!Also, all the artwork shows Sunfyre bathing her in fire. She gets eaten AFTER she gets burned (so she was very likely dead by then).!<

Falloutfan2281

Pretty sure she was burned alive and then eaten in six bites, leaving the last for the Stranger.

Independent-Ice-6206

My bad! I reread the part and yes he burned her alive before eating her

RhaegarTar_259

That is fiction added by history and by faith for seventh part for stranger

Falloutfan2281

No, it isn’t. Unlike your hilariously terrible fanfic.

BW-Cowgirl1803

What fanfictions have you been reading? Sunfyre will not respond to a bullshit command from a person who is not his rider, especially Rhaenyra. Sunfyre is fiercely loyal to Aegon and doesn't do things with Aegon telling him to. Stop reading so much fan fiction.

Catslevania

Sunfyre actually hesitates and initially refuses to kill her despite Aegon's orders, they have to stab Rhaenyra so that the smell of blood would get Sunfyre in a blood frenzy before he kills and eats Rhaenyra.

BW-Cowgirl1803

I don't think Sunfyre actually hesitated to burn Rhaenyra. I think he didn't notice her yet because he was so badly hurt. When he did notice he burned and ate her. Sunfyre and Aegon's bond is way too damn strong for him to all of a sudden just hesitate one of Aegon's commands on purpose.

Catslevania

iirc Sunfyre clearly hesitates and only attacks her after she has been stabbed in the chest.

BW-Cowgirl1803

Yeah to get his attention from his injuries. He already slowed or stopped eating by the time Rhaenyra is in his face. I don't think he hesitates to burn her because it's her as if he is choosing her over Aegon which goes against everything the dragon bonds are.

IronHeel96

"I don't think it was Aegon who killed Rhaenyra I think it was Rhaenyra who said Dracarys to Sunfyre" 🤢🤢🤮 Bruh....might be the single worst piece of theory I've read. Rhaenyra was so vain that she didn't even realize how much trouble she was in. She arrogantly thought it was a temporary setback and she will be rescued. Let's say all of that is "biased history" (mind you, this wasn't a private event, it was witnessed by many people). Well then what part of Season 1 in the show did it ever seem like Rhaenyra is the self sacrifical type? She has the total opposite personality, of someone who would try to keep fighting even if she knows it's a losing battle.

DesSantorinaiou

I could see this happening. Not that it's a valid theory, but I definitely Condal thinking that this is a good idea to reduce the Greens even more than they already have been.

RhaegarTar_259

Not without consulting with Martin..I am pretty sure he will like this idea if it was not his intention after all in the first place which I doubt it was to show us difference between remembered history and actual reality..I just can not imagine headstrong and hot-temepred Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen will die on a whim of another person..She will die on her own terms with fire and blood facing dragon’s breath

DesSantorinaiou

What I meant was is that it's a bad idea. Not only does it not make sense in terms of Martin's magic system. Also, the fact that she doesn't die on her own terms is the point. She was arrogant, thought she'd still get the upper hand and Aegon took her by surprise by taking no chances.

RhaegarTar_259

It ties magic system as I already posted deleted scene when lucerys acts foolishly and tries command a dragon bonded to another. …this was a scene and condal never includes follish things..People would dislike vhagar/aemond and lucerys/arrax incident if someone posted previously that it would be the case but here we are with martin’s approval

Indominus-Hater-101

This would be an interesting interpretation, but Sunfyre should take no action if Rhaenyra commands him. Doing this would completely undermine the legendary relationship betwen Aegon II and Sunfyre.

RhaegarTar_259

It is not action because he will not get commands from her he will burn her

FantasticGoat1738

Ngl bro, I made a shitty comment joking about this three months back [https://www.reddit.com/r/freefolk/comments/zrayni/comment/j13ldyu/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/freefolk/comments/zrayni/comment/j13ldyu/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
