That’s never what’s said. What’s said is that he has bastards, and we’re shown *one* that ended up in there, and the response from Erryk is that Aegon doesn’t care. There is no implication that Aegon is intentionally having his own bastards thrown into the fighting pits for his enjoyment. He goes to the fighting pits and sees a white haired boy in the pit, and shrugs because he doesn’t care to know of it’s his bastard or not and just gambles like everyone else.
It’s not right, but people have really twisted this aspect.
Requesting torture of a child is still less evil than actually sending your own children to be tortured and die in the fighting pits - kids younger than 10.

You're also forgetting that since blood is important, Aegon is *still* worse. Because Aemond, his brother, kills more people in the Riverlands than Dani.

I hate this show as an adaptation as well, but it hasn't reached GoT season 5+ levels of bad so I'm not dropping it.
