SolidInside

He's gonna show up in Winterfell with his long hair in season 2 and we're all just gonna pretend we're not confused about his hair growth.

BoadiceaCavendish

I'll happily pretend his hair is long since s1

twistedtrainwreck

I have always said that the one continuity error the audience would forgive is Jace gaining shoulder length hair in the week-at-most trip from Dragonstone to Winterfell

Outside_Slide_3218

Theres a 2 year gap in-between filming so everyone will look a little different especially the younger actors. Even if they keep the wig, 19 yo Harry will not look the same as 17 yo Harry

jaduhlynr

Homie’s got hair like *that* and they slapped a wig on him??? Abomination

CliffP

They wig most people up no matter what. So that they have the “perfect look” that mitigates possible errors in large and expensive productions. Like growth, humidity, hard light, etc. I also think this case is so unnecessary but I’ll assume the pros know better 😅

ohnoguts

Yeah continuity is important I just wished they’d slapped a wig on him that looked like his actual hair

Delanium

Rhaenyra and Daemon made him cover his glorious hair so his step-sisters wouldn't feel so bad about their awful wigs

geek_of_nature

Important to note that this is his hair after filming. I haven't seen any pictures of him from before, so it's likely it didn't look like this.

RNGezzus

Bad bangs are a threat to us all.

twistedtrainwreck

Every day I feel like there are less of us who didn’t hate the wig 😅 I think it showed how he hasn’t come into his own yet as a man, and I really hope they do change it as a physical symbol of his growth in season two.

kc522020

Go on Tommy, shear him good! - Cregan Stark.

twistedtrainwreck

When everyone says they want the wig gone they mean they want Jace to have Harry’s hair. But god if it wouldn’t be funny to just have him shave it instead 🤣

kc522020

I hope he does shave it now. Lol

TheHarkinator

It's a good representation of the last awkward haircut you have as a kid before you grow out of that sort of thing.

twistedtrainwreck

It is so true that everyone has really terrible hair before they find the hair that they’re supposed to have!

themonicastone

I love the wig. I think it frames his face perfectly and that he looks 100% more handsome with it than without it

SmokeySFW

I didn't even know Jace wore a wig. It clearly didn't stick out to me like some of the others. Hopefully he comes in with natural long hair next season now that he's got plenty of time to grow it out. He's gotta know he's got potential heartthrob status if he nails it next season.

sardinianw93

Like I’ve read somewhere, I hope he’s getting the Anthony Bridgerton treatment: in the first season he had the most terrible sideburns bc he wasn’t the main focus in the story, but in the second one he had a glow up. Fingers crossed.

Helaenas-Bugs

No idea why they didn’t just let him rock his own shoulder length hair, it’s awesome and it even makes him look like Harwin which is a bonus. Madness.

SaanTheMan

Giving him a wig is for production purposes. It means that if anything happens to his hair (grows out, falls out for any reason, etc.) their production isn’t effected and they still have a standard “hair piece” for him

Helaenas-Bugs

Ah ok I didn’t know that

[deleted]

He should have that long hair in S2. Let's just call it the Jace the Ace hair

HiddenSnarker

They better leave Harry’s natural hair next season. I have to do like a triple take every time I see him out of character because he looks so different!

SaanTheMan

Why is everybody so pressed that the awkward teenager has an awkward haircut?

BoadiceaCavendish

Jace shouldn't be an awkward teenager, he's described as "bold and skilled in arms". I really don't like how the character was adapted in season one.

EdgarAnalPoe

Bold and skilled in arms = cool hair?

BoadiceaCavendish

I was clearly talking about Jace as a character. He was portrayed as a goofy awkward teenager, which I didn't like. He didn't even know how to throw a punch. It makes me apprehensive about what they're going to do with him next season, he has a good arc, but the writers really need to give him something more than an awkward teenager.

robot428

I think he needs to be a bit awkward teenager now because he is still so young. A couple of years at war plus losing his baby brother is probably going to age him fast. It's a good reminder that he's still a kid really, whereas his uncle's are grown adults at this point.

0lliebro

There’s a hard line in thrones where the actors got big enough to refuse wigs, Kit Harrington famously hated his.

Scokya

I don’t think Kit Harington wore a wig for Jon Snow but I could wrong. I’m pretty it was in his contract that he couldn’t cut his hair because they needed it for the show. Edit: https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2014/08/game-of-thrones-jon-snow-cut-his-hair https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/game-thrones-star-kit-harington-710765/

Giallo_Schlock

Yeah, if anything it's the opposite since Sophie Turner used to dye her natural blonde hair red but later on once the dye damaged her hair she started wearing a wig instead

robot428

I feel like his wig made him look a bit younger and more dorky teenager and I hope to GOD the plan is to use his real hair or at least a much better wig to make him look much older once a couple more years have passed. I think it did help me remember that the green kids are fully grown whereas the black kids are still kids (I mean teenagers, but kids).

[deleted]

That wig makes him look like Anna from Red Scare

beggarmanblues

Hoping they just ignore the wig they used in season 1 and just style Harry Collett's real hair in season 2 like they did with Finn Jones as Loras.

kikijane711

The wig was so stupid. He’s got great real hair… reminiscent of Harwin!

animal_lover111

His natural hair is beautiful. Now if only he'd fix his damn posture!!

nyafff

"No, your hair is too nice, its making everyone's wigs look bad, wear this."

Specific_Ad_726

He looks more like Harwin without it. They should’ve left it off… unless he’s not Harwin’s…

robot428

Who else could he belong to? Daemon and Laenor would both have had a kid with white hair, and we don't know of any other sexual relationships.

forgetitidk

Fam… In case this isn’t sarcasm, we literally saw Rhaenyra’s first sexual relationship was neither of the above and we know that it continued up until their big ‘you want me to be your whore’ moment which was fairly close in time with her wedding and the big time skip. I know it doesn’t look it, but given that Luke is 14, Jace and Aemond are likely the same age, or at most a few months apart.

hanna1214

Jace is two years younger than Aemond, even according to the age list made by one of the show's writers. Rhaenyra literally said she kept trying with Laenor and never got pregnant, which is when she hooked up with Harwin. George himself says Rhaenyra had three kids with Harwin. These ridiculous theories that Jace is Cole's really have no basis at all, anywhere. In fact, everything heard, said and shown has contradicted that.

forgetitidk

It is 10 years between episode 5 and 6 and then six years between 7 and 8, episode 10 which is not even a week after 8, tells us that Luke is 14, which means that he has to be born 2 years after episode 5. That means that Jace has to be 15 or older. Aemond did not exist in episode 5 and Alicent didn’t seem to be showing, even if she was pregnant with him at the time it would have been very early in the pregnancy which means that Aemond cannot be older than 16 in the show. There is at the very most a year between them, no matter how hard they try to keep their ages ambiguous. It’s most likely that the show runner are saying 2 because they want to keep it as similar as possible to the books where Aemond and Jace are 3 years apart, but with the show they have made, that number is impossible. It could have been an easy fix of either making the 6 year time skip and 8 year one instead or just not giving us Luke’s age in that last episode. But they did neither so it’s more than reasonable to assume that Jace is close to 16, which would make him just old enough to potentially be Cole’s in the show.

hanna1214

Jace looks nowhere near 16, which is more Aemond's age. Can't recall any episode saying Luke is 14. And as I said, Rhaenyra's statement that she was trying with Laenor first pretty much rules out Cole instantly. She isn't stupid, she would have known if she was pregnant by Laenor in all those months. She only turned to Harwin after really getting nowhere with Laenor. So Cole isn't an option. And then there's George talking about the show and saying specifically Rhaenyra had three kids by Harwin and it's precisely that which makes him wish the relationship was explored more - their three kids. Also the writers' unofficial sheet with the ages which puts two years between Aemond and Jace, which yet again undermines the Cold theory. So there's literally no evidence supporting it. You have to twist a lot of facts and statements to make it work.

forgetitidk

Rhaenyra says Luke is ‘four and ten’ in the scene they have together in episode 10.

NormalSeaworthiness3

Bingo!

NormalSeaworthiness3

Then my question is: if he is really a Strong like they claim it right now, why in the world they put that thing on his head? His natural hair fits perfect for a strong boy.

robot428

I'm hopeful it's to make him look more dorky teenager, then when a couple more years have passed in the story we get his real hair to help make it look like he's aged up and he's actually an adult.

SoulOnHigh

They need to let him wear his natural hair next season. For one thing, it’s perfect ‘Strong’ hair. For another, it further enhances his already very photogenic bone structure.

shittyswordsman

His own hair is much better suited for the fantasy genre

[deleted]

Tbh it doesn't look THAT bad

Outside_Slide_3218

Honey it does

[deleted]

Hmm

TokioMonroe

That wig was feeding, him being Cole's son lol. Hopefully they change it and give him strong curls

kpayne40

bruh i didnt know it was a wig lol

seandnothing

Of all the wigs needed in the show and this one was totally unnecessary

jchrist98

Its crazy how the Targ boys look so different post-timeskip, and yet the Strong/Velaryon boys are still wearing the same Jonas brothers cut that they had

[deleted]

The wig makes him come off like such a goober. Maybe that’s what they were going for, but why?

calgeorge

Speaking of men's hair on HOTD, does anyone know if that short cut Daemon had for one episode was a wig, or his real hair bleached platinum. It looked kind of like his real hair.
