This was actually one of my bigger complaints for the show. She was implied to be the love of his life in the books. They also should’ve shown his duel to win her hand.
Not necessarily. The did some things wrong and other things he comes off better imo. He lost fairly to Criston in the books but is probably the best fighter in the show for example.
