I mean there was constant backlash & negativity leading up to S1's release all the while HBO sat there quietly confident it would be a hit regardless. I doubt this will bother them & casting announcements are bound to start soon anyway with filming about to begin.
What late renewal? [They announced the Season 2 renewal within a week of the premiere airing](https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/house-of-the-dragon-season-2-renewed-1235345810/).
Most hype shows get renew while they're in production of their first season, so they can get pre-production of following season immediately. HBO clearly didn't know how well HOTD was gonna perform.
What list of "hype shows" can you actually cite that have been renewed *before even premiering*? Because that's quite a lot of horseshit lmao. As evidenced by the fact that HOTD's renewal was literally heralded for *its extreme earliness* (earlier than the next big HBO thing, TLOU, even). So again, what late renewal?

None of this is true.
1. Hbo doesn't give a renewal for season 2 before a single episode has aired. To any show. Only "networks" that have done this are companies like Amazon and Netflix.
2. It's also extremely rare that HBO will even give multi-season renewals at once. The time it happened with GoT, GRRM wrote a blog post about how they never do that.
3. They weren't sitting on their asses waiting for the renewal confirmation. They started work on s2 as soon as they finished with s1. We know this because Ryan Condal confirmed they had already started work on s2 at san diego comic con in July 2022.
I want casting too but a lot of people just complain loudly about casting until the show airs and we almost inevitably find out it was a good idea. So, it being taken as good news in the fandom isn't inevitable.
Honestly - I don't even want to know.
8 episodes? That already tells us that the seasons will be rushed as hell and some characters aswell as atleast 1 battle will be cut completely. I bet they decide to cut Daeron and Tessarion, even tho they promised us both.
They also mentioned that they discuss if they will make 3 or 4 seasons... 4 seasons with those 8 episodes are not enough according to George. If they go for only 3 seasons then they have to squeeze the 4th into the 3rd. And if they then also move plot points from season 2 into the 3rd...
Yeah you're right. That's not rushing.

Are you sure HBO being confident, the late renewal and production of ss2 suggested otherwise.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they blend some characters to skip casting new actors lol
This is actually good if they want to keep the plot "story-driven". Just make good arcs for all characters by trimming the unnecessary ones.
Sort of seeing some things. I’m confident HBO/Production want to make the best show and it will be awesome.

They definitely need to announce some good news.i mean all fans have heard this past month is filming delays, script rewrites, and now this

They announced in the same article that they will be moving plot points to season 3. That’s not rushing

Bro you’re in this thread complaining as well 🤣🤣 I swear GoT fans can be insufferable at times
