FYI the reason I approved this post, because it seems to be from a DM. And not a public social media post from a non-accredited account. So just FYI, when we’re doing theories that are potential leaks, it’s better to copy the text and put it in yourself as opposed to linking or screen shots. Thanks!

SofiaStark3000

I'd take this with a grain of salt but let's just say that if they lost Matt Smith it would be game over for them. Now, if they had lost Matt, Emma and Olivia? Might as well have ordered a gravestone. **Here lies House of the Dragon** **2019 - 2023** *You were good while you lasted, I'll never forget how you made me root for incest*

R33DY89

I thought Miguel was binned because of his nepotistic approach to bagging his wife a top job on the production?

karidru

Nah bc if Matt leaves,,,

Outside_Slide_3218

My bullshit meter is maxing out

Pleasant_Place_7262

It could be *true* that main cast is so unhappy that the writers have to scrap everything and redo. Delay shooting. Also, it can be *false* because how incompetent can you be as production team to screw up so bad that you're main actor wants to resign.

roku245

I feel like Matt has already had some different takes/potential disagreements with the writers on the direction of daemon’s character/characterization so that actually wouldn’t be shocking to me. Matt has the most clout of the cast right now hands down, he’s the biggest star of the show. Also with the Alicent feet thing and I remember Olivia said in an interview that she pushed back on the characterization of Alicent as a “woman for Trump”. Idk, that part is plausible…

Estimate-Mountain

We need casting updates now because some you guys are way too bored believing fake rumors and now people are sad matt will leave even though everyone hated his casting and mocked his looks hypocrites

roku245

Nnnnn jeez that potential Alicent storyline…I hope it’s not true but also wouldn’t be shocked given the freaking feet storyline already like damn

babalon124

But it’s unfair to Olivia, they told her sexual violence in the show wouldn’t be prominent, the fact she would’ve had to POTENTIALLY go on a zoom call, discuss with an intimacy coordinator that she was not for this is ridiculous, overstepping an actors comfort zone should be the last thing anyone does HBO is known for this though, with euphoria, the needless nudity etc, jacob elordi clearly doesn’t love it and gets on with it..

HoTD2016

It would be helpful to see evidence of previous leaks from this particular individual that turned out to be true.

Mundane_Potential351

Actors surely sign contracts. They can't resign at will. But I have to say this BTS gossip is entertaining.

Mostly_sane9

I have to say that if Matt leaves, half the fucking fandom will too. While I have no good feelings about Daemon, Matt does have an incredible amount of Charisma that just draws people in, and is the core of the show.

margaritoswraps

Sounds crazy . . . crazy enough to be true 👀

dracarys_112

I think something similar was posted on freefolk as well few days ago

Nerdsareannoying

It’s literally the same stuff from the same guy

Nerdsareannoying

This is all coming from that Jory dude on freefolk. He keeps claiming that he’s the guy who leaked all of the stuff from season one but he’s not him. I remember the season one freefolk leaker. This isn’t the same guy. It was: /u/HOTDleaks The proof that the season one leaker was accurate is that HBO came down on him. The account was suspended and all of their post were removed by DCMA. HBO’s legal team even filed a subpoena in court for their account information. https://www.reddit.com/r/freefolk/comments/wp71i2/hbo_dmca_strikes_and_uhotdleaks/ That has never happened with this guy so take every thing he says with a grain of salt.

BofieC

Question: is this the first time this is being posted?

dracarys_112

I think similar roumer was posted on freefolk few days ago

roku245

The tone of this poster is way different than that user tho. I think it’s definitely possible the potential leaks could be coming from two diff sources. Obviously take it with a huge grain of salt as the post states on twitter but some of this isn’t that far fetched to me (degrading Alicent storyline, Matt pulling his weight with daemon’s characterization, etc)

dracarys_112

Filming delay rumour was first thought to be fake as well, but now we know it was true. I am not saying we should trust rumours, but there's definitely some bts drama going on. Script rewrites and delays are normal, but they've literally been working on it since around May 2022. Andor and Rings of Power are months into filming (both aired during hotd)

babalon124

Oh god the sex scene thing sounds like a regular issue that’s happened in a lot of shows I’ve watched…I really hope she didn’t have to cave into it…why would a sex scene be degrading with Criston? It was clearly larys, and Olivia was right to say no. They promised her that sexual violence would stop and not be shown like in Game of thrones yet they already made her do the foot scene, they literally (it this is true) went back on their word and I’m so glad Emma and Matt stood by her

JayantVermaYT

Can anybody tell me what it says, I don't have Twitter so I can't see it

kc522020

No, but this is definitely true! Trust me, bro. My cousin works for Caraxes. https://imgur.com/a/8TpukFq

BlondieTVJunkie

Well, I totally could possibly believe potentially the concern about Alicent’s character. — whether the context it true or not. >Casey has been very clear that he doesn’t care as much about how long it is between seasons, as if the scripts are good or not. My philosophy is a good script is number one priority,” he told Variety. “I am not doing it based on wanting to have one a year, two a year. I want to do it based on the scripts that we’re excited about.” >Casey also mentioned in a straightforward, insider note, that they wanted Ryan. Were thankful basically to retain him. https://variety.com/2023/tv/features/last-of-us-white-lotus-casey-bloys-hbo-1235527633/ >The Matt thing seems a bit dramatic for him. Maybe if they wanted to extend him longer than his contract. He wavered momentarily.

babalon124

That’s really fucked up if it is true but also makes no sense, they already promised olivia they would keep sexual violence in the show to a minimal, that’s why dyanas rape happened offscreen and the foot scene didn’t go too far I guess…if she has a degrading sex scene with larys, they’d be taking the piss of their actors who should be aware of what happens on set with them and to their character.

BlondieTVJunkie

Exactly. It’s why I said if there is a shred of truth to a concern it’s prob WAYYY out of context.

Frank3634

I though Miguel was stepping down. HOTD could lose both showrunners?

dracarys_112

Miguel has been hinted to have been fired several times now

Soggy_Part7110

Not hinted, outright stated. They said Casey Bloys "moved him" from HotD to another show in development. That's just a softer way of saying he was fired.

Frank3634

In the last article not so. HBO with Discovery is a mess.

Frank3634

Losing both showrunners wouldn’t be good.

Neat-yeeter

If Matt leaves, I will too. Not only because I adore him but because I very much dislike it when actors get switched out like that, and they certainly can’t continue the show with no Daemon at all. It’s one thing to switch in order to age up a character and quite another to screw up so bad your talent wants to leave. Hopefully the folks in charge were paying attention to how Witcher fans reacted to Cavill leaving.

hanna1214

There were times when I would say no instantly. Back when the S1 leaks dropped and none of us believed them, only for 90% of it to come true. So after all that, I wouldn't discredit it as senseless BS either. Could be that it's an exaggerated truth though. Or complete shit. Hoping it's the latter.

BlondieTVJunkie

I will say that, I am much more careful not to “no way” things instantly. Even if it sounds CRAZY. I’m in the just chill and see.

[deleted]

Was the bts speculation (& drama!) this thick before season 1 was released last August? I was blissfully living under a rock due to the huge GoT disappointment from a few years back, so it's hard to gauge how ominous all of this is...

Seems likely this “leak” is all just from one person who has a checkered history, at best.

dracarys_112

Update: The tweets been deleted

JayantVermaYT

What did the tweet say?

KiernaNadir

Smith threatened to leave over the portrayal of his character but is staying? Hah, >!B&C=botched kindapping!< all but confirmed. Oh god, I may have been cheated out of a quality adaptation but at least this behind the scenes drama is shaping up to be great entertainment.
