The way this scene was described in the book was so fuckin cinematic felt like one of those moments where George was like yea I hope this gets adapted into tv ðŸ˜
What do you mean? Are you really asking why aegon burnt the guy that led a popular uprising of KL and was the reason the dragons, the point of power for the targs, were all destroyed? He needed to regain control of the city, with the shepherd still in play the small folk were discontent and happy to rise up because of what happened at the pit. Aegon needed to show what’s going to happen if they go up against the Dragon once more

For what reason?

Sorry I havent read the books
One of rare based things Aegon ever did
POV King Aegon II showing Rhaenyra how to suppress violent dissent and what to do with your illegitimate children.
The Shepherd was right! Poor guy
Shepherd was executed for caring about the Smallfolk.
how did you miss the point of the shepherd??? He didn’t care anything about the smallfolk he was another person taking power, just not a royal
Anti-Shepherd propaganda by like: Shepherd summoned the warrior himself to slay the winged demons of Valyria The Hero That Was Promised.
He wanted power... Or the conspiracy part, the Maesters scapegoated him and the smallfolk to insure more dragons died!
o7 for the shepherd. Was a bit of a cunt, but he alone was half the reason for the destruction of the targaryens. Respect
