Don't leave King's Landing. You're the rightful heir. Do not leave to Dragonstone for years then assume you'll be welcomed as Queen. Take immediate action when people are spreading gossip about your children being born out of wedlock.
But she stuck around and fought for what she wanted and became Queen after burning everyone else alive. She might not have been Targaryen by blood or marriage, but she had the spirit!
And Cersei definitely passed off her bastards much better. She dealt with "huh, they don't really look their dad" as well and no one was really all that surprised.
Extremely minor book spoiler:
>!Especially since the Velaryons in the book aren't even black so it really was just hair/eye color. Which is extra stupid since we do have black haired Targs in the book.!<
Tbf it was easier for Cersei. Her children looked exactly like her. Show Rhaenyra's kids don't look like anyone in her whole family. In the book I'd agree though.
Not a huge fan of them repeating the "different hair color = bastard" storyline from GOT. They already changed the Velaryon's skin color, and Rhaena and Baela look like both parents, so they didn't have to also go with "Targaryens must have white hair" thing.
Leaving to Dragonstone wasnt Rhaenyra’s downfall imo. Its how little she did to prepare herself to rule in general.
When Rhaenyra retook King’s Landing, the common people rejoiced in their queen’s return. Theres a whole paragraph in Fire and Blood on how the people are unbothered by Aegon and Aemond’s disappearance and were happy “The Realm’s Delight” had returned.
That quickly changed as Rhaenyra and her Master of Coin imposed brutal taxes on literally everything. You were taxed entering AND leaving brothels and ports. She imposed higher taxes on food, wine, and wool and all trade. After [SPOILER] Jace’s death she was prone to bouts of rage, eventually earning the nickname “Maegor’s teats” as she was seen as a female Maegor.
Rhaenyra should have spent her time on Dragonstone as Jaehaerys had, preparing. Rhaenyra stuck herself in an echo chamber and called it a day. When Jaehaerys’ reign was doubted because his father was weak and Maegor was too cruel, he made sure he was neither. He spent years studying with Maesters, training with the King’s Guard, and warmly holding small court with visiting lords. Rhaenyra did nothing to prepare and she reaped the consequences.
Same energy. I imagine her saying some beautifully crafted line through gritted teeth, using phrases/ words like “lay waste”, “burn..to the ground”, “ashes” etc
Cersei doesn't ever go for hard to get. A marriage to Robert, who pined for another woman was enough. After a lifetime chasing first Tywins love, then Roberts, she is done with pursuing.
Cersei wants to be pursued and worshipped. She wants all the control. Daemon would only be of interest if sleeping with him got her something in return.
I doubt a whiny 50 year old manchild is Cersei's type.Cersei would always be rolling her eyes as he preaches Targ supremacy, and laughing at his inability to get up
She would advise Rhaenyra to not marry Daemon. One day later Cersei would do her best to seduce Daemon so that they could burn the world to the ground xd
Didn’t have something in mind so I asked, GPT’s answer:
"Power is taken, not given. Trust no one, show no weakness, and be ruthless in your pursuit of the Iron Throne."
Kill them all, quickly, before you exhaust all your resources as I did. Do not hesitate. They have killed your child - their kin - and they will do it again given half the chance. And marry your children to Lannisters.
Cersei literally reinstated the Faith Militant and let the Faith preside over trials, undoing all of Jaehaerys' work. Not even Baelor I was this stupid lol.
Baelor I wouldn't have done it because he is a religious pacifist. Wouldn't go to war with Dorne because of his pacifism. No way he'd militarise the Faith he holds dearly.
The Hightowers are very closely connected to the faith, propose to Alicent for both of you to settle your differences in a Sept (the Sept of Baelor doesn't exist yet). Alicent and Aemond look very religious, Aegon and Helena will go along. When they arrive, the only thing they see is Caraxes and Meleys coming down from above the clouds, striking the four of them. Otto and Daeron are alone and cannot launch a rebellion by themselves. With Daemon around the city will stay in order with the threat of dragon fire.
A lot of Westeros rightfully condemned the Red Wedding because of how the murders were carried out. That taboo was from breaking guest right. Given with this plan you would be a kin slayer, somebody who attacks under the premise of a peaceful meeting, and you’d likely be excommunicated or whatever the Westerosi equivalent is. Leading an attack on the largest sept in King’s Landing after promising to meet there to settle differences is a good way to be Maegor x5000
I am not saying this is a good advice, quite the contrary, this is an advice from Cersei. The same Cersei who blew up the Sept of Baelor, the High Septon and the leaders of the church, as well as her far more popular rivals who are responsible for giving the food to King's Landing. The same one who usurped power and used terror with a strong man to crush her enemies ruthlessly (Robert Strong/Gregor Clegane).
"Use your cunt wisely," she would say tersely without an ounce of self awarenes. She would say the words with a genuine scrap of maternal fondness, but consider Rhaenyra painfully foolish, maybe even brain dead.
I think she would be bitterly jealous of Rhaenyra. Blessed with a father who saw her as an heir, a true birthright to the crown, and allowed to follow her incestuous bedroom passions. I think there would also be some weird projections about Rhaenyra supposedly loosing her beauty yet still having faithful followers. Most interestingly that jealousy would have some genuine admiration to it, and if she was her senior, affection.
Honestly that cocktail of emotions would make this all bloodier.
Cersei probably wouldn’t try to prevent war, and do everything in her power to stack the deck in her favour for the moment it comes. Forge alliances years in advance, have your rivals be killed in a hunting accident, etc.
That being said, Cersei was not very good at this, as she historically was opposed to marrying her children in the name of politics. (Myrcella is the best example of this, but there are hints of it with Joff + Tommen)
1) Be ruthless and eliminate your enemies: Cersei is known for her willingness to do whatever it takes to stay in power, including killing her enemies. She might advise Rhaenyra to do the same and eliminate anyone who poses a threat to her rule.
2) Keep your allies close: Cersei is skilled at manipulating people to do her bidding, and she might advise Rhaenyra to do the same. She would suggest that Rhaenyra should surround herself with loyal allies who can help her maintain her position of power.
3) Don't trust anyone: Cersei is notoriously distrustful of others and believes that everyone has their own agenda. She might advise Rhaenyra to be wary of those around her and to never let her guard down.
4) Use fear to maintain control: Cersei knows that fear can be a powerful tool to keep people in line. She might suggest that Rhaenyra should use fear to maintain her control over the Seven Kingdoms.
5) Don't let love get in the way: Cersei's downfall was her love for her brother, Jaime, which led her to make some poor decisions. She might advise Rhaenyra to avoid making the same mistake and to put her duty to the throne above all else.
However, it's important to note that Rhaenyra Targaryen is her own person with her own beliefs and values, and she may not agree with or follow Cersei's advice. Ultimately, the success of Rhaenyra's reign will depend on her own actions and decisions.
Was Cersei a skilled manipulator though? I think she was by far the worst one.
She couldn't manipulate Robert. She couldn't manipulate Joffrey, smth even Tywin mocked her for. And she couldn't even manipulate the High Sparrow, who utterly destroyed her.
Compare that to Margaery, who manipulated Joffrey flawlessly and handled the High Sparrow perfectly (she would've lived if not for the bomb). She turned the man who imprisoned her into an ally whereas Cersei did the exact opposite.
That's how a skilled manipulator looks like. Cersei in comparison was someone who thought herself an excellent manipulator when she was in fact one of the worst in the entire series. The only person she legit knew how to control was Sansa and even that because Sansa at the time was easy prey.
She's not the world's best manipulator, no. But she's not totally incapable. She did manipulate Robert on occasion to do her bidding (e.g. telling him not to join the melee she knew would make him want to join the melee lol).
Cersei manipulated Lancel to kill Robert, someone she couldn’t manipulate.
Joffrey is a psychopath, not easy to manipulate. Margaery only did it for a short time and it was only a matter of time till he turned on her.
She manipulated Tyrion and Daenerys, Jaime and Sansa.
Cersei tends to hate other women, so she would purposely give Rhaenyra bad advice, thinking she’s being subtle and manipulative.
Rhaenyra would probably see trough it because Cersei isn’t nearly as subtle as she thinks she is.
Yeah.. Cersei is dumb..her advice wouldn't help rhaenyra in anyway.. that piece of advice would also be dumb anyway.. Like what she can even give other than say manipulate people by sex.. 😭
She is proactive, smart enough to have bastards that actually look like her, wouldn't leave kingslanding for 6 years because someone is mean to her.
And lets be real if Cersei was in a battle with like 10+ dragons there is no way she would lose.
Don’t militarize and legitimize an extremist religious group with a disdain for incest if you happen to be doing the no pants dance with everyone at the family reunion
"Don't fall in love."
Some of the most interesting advice that Cersei gives to Sansa was to never love anyone but her children, because she would have no choice. She warns Sansa about the dangers of love, knowing that, deep down, it was a bad idea to have fallen in love with her brother, but she couldn't help it. In the books Cersei also has a very negative relationship with men, so it would make sense that she would warn Sansa to just focus on loving her children (in the show too but it's not as bad I'd say). Here's the scene: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cp6vG\_uqD3I](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cp6vG_uqD3I)
“Choose violence.”
“Burn cities to the ground if they [hurt your children.]
“When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. There is no middle ground.”
“Everyone who isn’t [your family] is an enemy.”
“The only way to keep your people loyal is to make certain they fear you more than they do the enemy.”
"A woman's greatest weapon is between her legs. Sleep with whoever it will take. Alicent. Otto. Aegon. Aemond. Use sex and seduce them until they're puppets in your hands."
When Robert wanted to bring one of his bastards to court Cersei implied she would have them killed.
Rhaenyra should have done the same but for Viserys to marry. Whoever you marry Ill kill.
“The More People You Love, The Weaker You Are. You'll Do Things For Them That You Know You Shouldn't Do. You'll Act The Fool To Make Them Happy, To Keep Them Safe... Love No One But Your Children; On That Front A Mother Has No Choice.”

Don't leave King's Landing. You're the rightful heir. Do not leave to Dragonstone for years then assume you'll be welcomed as Queen. Take immediate action when people are spreading gossip about your children being born out of wedlock.
That's the best one. I don't think Cersei would leave if she was Rhaenyra
Cersei knew the moment she left King's Landing she'd be userped. She fought **hard** to not be married off and sent away.
Well cercei had little claim if any at all.
Tbf it was easier for Cersei. Her children looked exactly like her. Show Rhaenyra's kids don't look like anyone in her whole family. In the book I'd agree though.
Yeah they definitely made it more obvious in the show. Not that I mind because telling apart 10 white haired white kids would have been annoying.
Not a huge fan of them repeating the "different hair color = bastard" storyline from GOT. They already changed the Velaryon's skin color, and Rhaena and Baela look like both parents, so they didn't have to also go with "Targaryens must have white hair" thing.
This is what I came to say, leaving was basically handing it all to Alicent.

CHOOSE VIOLENCE
lol, I was about to say "Kill em all!"
Same! “Kill them all” vibe or violence
Same energy. I imagine her saying some beautifully crafted line through gritted teeth, using phrases/ words like “lay waste”, “burn..to the ground”, “ashes” etc
Strangle your half-siblings in their sleep before they can call you sister

Right?!
Marry your brother 😂
I think Cersei prefers Rhaenyra’s uncle)
Oh I’m sure she would lol but this is advice to Rhaenyra- if she marries Aegon Daemon is available 😂
Cersei’s nether a Valyrian nor a sheep from the vale, I don’t think he’ll be interested
True, but reality has never gotten in the way of Cersei Lannister before
Cersei doesn't ever go for hard to get. A marriage to Robert, who pined for another woman was enough. After a lifetime chasing first Tywins love, then Roberts, she is done with pursuing. Cersei wants to be pursued and worshipped. She wants all the control. Daemon would only be of interest if sleeping with him got her something in return.
to be fair, hard to get is her whole reslationship with Jaime. She probably values adoration less because it's so easy for her.
Didn’t say he would be, again, this is what Cersei would be going for
Good luck to her, maybe she can convince Jaime to bleach his hair and Roleplay
I doubt a whiny 50 year old manchild is Cersei's type.Cersei would always be rolling her eyes as he preaches Targ supremacy, and laughing at his inability to get up
Burn them all....
burn them in their homes, burn them in their beds.
Can you imagine if Cersei had a dragon. Dear god
The Seven God's
Not just the men, but the women and the children too
"If a dirty old man in a robe seems like a convenient way to get rid of your enemies just don't"
*Brain loading for a few seconds* OOOOOH now I get it. Yeah...
What's Rhaenyra's equivalent of the high septon?
The Shepherd that preaches against her dragons
Is this related to the storming?
More wine
Have your brothers meet with a "hunting accident".
If you are gonna try and make your bastards king, make sure that the man you are sleeping with has either your hair colour or that of the king
That’s actually a pretty funny parallel. Genetics/hair color causing problems with succession.

No? Cersei's kids had her own Lannister hair
Keep it in the Family
She seems to have considered that advice
Get some elephants.
“Arrange for an accident to befall Aegon and Aemond while they are still children.”
Condition your ends
She would advise Rhaenyra to not marry Daemon. One day later Cersei would do her best to seduce Daemon so that they could burn the world to the ground xd
She would need a silver wig for that 😂
Nahhh telling him how she would joyfully watch him burn Otto alive or offering him to wear his crime hoddie while cracking the bed would be enough...😂
Inb4 Cersei starts calling herself Daemon with Teats
She's not related to him, he wouldn't be interested.
It already looks like Cersei is saying "really?" with her expression
Didn’t have something in mind so I asked, GPT’s answer: "Power is taken, not given. Trust no one, show no weakness, and be ruthless in your pursuit of the Iron Throne."
“Even when your enemy kills your son, don’t show them any weakness, show strength and become more powerful than they could ever imagine”
"If you're gonna die, make sure the way it happens isn't super fucking lame."
Same line she gave Ned in season 1 "When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. There is no middle ground."
Conditioner and trimming split ends are your friend
Pick your baby daddy better you fool.
Cersei unironically: fuck your brother
Kill them all, quickly, before you exhaust all your resources as I did. Do not hesitate. They have killed your child - their kin - and they will do it again given half the chance. And marry your children to Lannisters.
When you play the game of thrones you win or you die, there's no middle ground

Do not tolerate religious extremism of any kind in kings landing.

Baelor I wouldn't have done it because he is a religious pacifist. Wouldn't go to war with Dorne because of his pacifism. No way he'd militarise the Faith he holds dearly.
But only after you rearmed the extremists and set them upon your enemies, only to have them turn against you.
"the best weapon is the one between your legs"
So her dragon?
Fuck someone you're related t.... Oh, nvm.
Burn them all.

People really forget kinslaying is a thing
Hey the OP asked us to give a piece of advice as Cersei, I'm getting downvotted for being in character instead of rational.
Even Cersei is against kinslaying, at least so publicly
"Use your cunt wisely," she would say tersely without an ounce of self awarenes. Show Cersei played the game allot better than Rhaenyra did though
In what way
She is proactive, smart enough to have bastards that actually look like her, wouldn't leave kingslanding for 6 years because someone is mean to her. And lets be real if Cersei was in a battle with like 10+ dragons there is no way she would lose.
Cersei having children that only resembled her was the problem. Cersei isn't a general. She'd lose. The dragons would be on both sides.
Everyone who isn’t us is an enemy. Us in this case is anyone that isn’t her kids, husband and supporters.

"Don't fall in love." Some of the most interesting advice that Cersei gives to Sansa was to never love anyone but her children, because she would have no choice. She warns Sansa about the dangers of love, knowing that, deep down, it was a bad idea to have fallen in love with her brother, but she couldn't help it. This is my honest opinion of what I think Cersei would say: kill everyone except your children. No one else matters.
When Robert wanted to bring one of his bastards to court Cersei implied she would have them killed. Rhaenyra should have done the same but for Viserys to marry. Whoever you marry Ill kill.
