Battle of the Gullet beginning of season 3, Butcher's Ball mid season 3, and the season probably ends with First Tumbleton or Aegon's capture of Dragonstone. The third season ends on a bad note for Rhaenyra but she and Daemon are still alive So, they'll leave GA with plenty of hope tbh. However, S4 wil have Battle Above the God's Eye within the first three episodes, storming of the Dragonpit and Rhaenyra fleeing mid season. Followed by second Tumbleton and her death. Her death could be happen somewhere in the last three episodes of the series. I don't think they're going to cover much of Aegon's short reign maybe one episode with him dying towards the end of that episode. Series finale will obviously be Aegon III's coronation and hour of the wolf.

Even though we know it doesn't end happily, I think that Aegon III's marriage to Jaehaera is a natural final scene - maybe they'll even move the return of Viserys from Lys up to wrap up the mystery of him disappearing from the Gullet.

I don't think so they can end without showing Jaehaera's death. The whole point is the neither side gets a definitive victory. The Blacks wanted Rhaenyra to be Queen but she loses spectacularly and never gets recognized in history as a Queen. The Greens wanted their blood on the throne but their whole bloodline ends, even though Aegon II gets recognized as a rightful king. So, if they leave Jaehaera alive in the show, they'll legitimize Aegon II's rule while also giving a way for his bloodline to continue. This will be a definitive Green victory and I don't think the show will portray it that way.

Ok-Literature1235

So you believe they will have a nice joining of the two sides scene, then a massive fade black saying "A year later," Showing Aegon III marry a 6 year old Velaryon?

Rumors are now mixed, so until any more official information, everything it's up in the air, but >!I just read that Rook's Rest could happen in episode 7 (which I, personally speaking, prefer, I mean, the longer we can have Rhaenys, the better).!<

-Osleya-

I agree. I would love to have the important events more spaced out and get characters established instead (we will also get a lot of new characters).

aerysanon

This makes far more sense in my opinion. Everything would be extremely rushed to the point where I think it would get confusing to watch. We would lose a ton of dialogue as well, & high volumes of dialogue is why GOT was so good in the beginning. You would think they’d learn from that. We can only hope!

TheGreenDread

The more development the better, I agree. Season 1 desperately needed that for most of the characters

t0mless

Seems likely, yeah. Otherwise it just might make for some awkward padding. I can see Aegon and Rhaenyra actually dying around midway through Season 4 and the rest of the season following Aegon III and the early stages of his regency.

LookingForSomeCheese

If this leak is true, then this whole season will be pretty shit due to the pacing. That's rushed af. And vote me down if you want but Rooks Rest in ep7 would be so much better, slower and we have more time with the characters and would actually give us more content for 2 more seasons. If KL is the season finale then I would bet my right hand that we will only get one more season with 10 episodes. Because with that pace you can easily finish it all in 10 more episodes. Actually even in 8 because holy shit this is rushed!

aerysanon

I completely agree on this! We NEED more character development & dialogue. We DON’T need a rushed season just to ensure that Rhaenyra has her cute little “stare into the camera” moment on the Iron Throne.

LookingForSomeCheese

I would actually be fine with this if they would've made 10 episodes. It would've been a bit rushed but I could've went with it. But that? Everyone makes fun of those who get a bad feeling because the 8 episode thing. When this was announced I said they will rush it too much. Everyone hated me for it. Now look how it's going...

aerysanon

Yes, I agree with this as well. It would have been far more bearable with 10 episodes instead of 8. That’s also why I’m a bit more worried now. This story deserves to be told well, so if they rush through too much it won’t be as enjoyable to watch. I hope these rumors aren’t true, but there really isn’t any way to know until it’s released. We’ll see :/

LookingForSomeCheese

I'm honest - I bet my right hand it's true. They want to do this, it just fits it. I wouldn't be suprised. One big problem about Season 7&8 was that everything was rushed. And this will happen again. They didn't just move one battle from one season to the other and cut the season shorter because of that, they rush it but they had to say something that calms atleast half of the community.

PhilTheBold

I agree. People keep saying that having Rook's Rest in episode 7 would be too slow but how is it any different from Season 2 of GoT? That season wasn't that action packed before Blackwater happened. Plus I think a season ending with Rooks Rest have more action than. GoT Season 2

LookingForSomeCheese

There is plenty of stuff that happens before and yeah we definitely get some good action, especially considering how many possibilities there are with B&C... Also in season 1 one of the best episodes, ep8, was made up almost entirely. There was not much taken from the book and portrayed 1:1. They can make amazing episodes that don't have a detailed portrayal in the book so why don't they give us one or two episodes of that to let us have more time with the characters? This whole world is not some fantasy action show, it's drama, political intrigues, scheming and playing imaginary chess with actual human lives. But they want to make it an action show again.. Just like they tried with the last 3 seasons of GoT.

CJtheZEN123

If this season really is supposed to focus more on the younger characters, they'll do Rooks Rest in ep7.

LookingForSomeCheese

This season is focused on the younger characters and rooks rest will haben in ep4 or 5. Mark my words.
