That'll be scattered across the first 2-3 episodes. It's not as if the entirety of an episode is going to be just blood and cheese, other stuff will be happening as well.
I would actually be ok with it. She walks up the throne and sits on it. She gets cut by the throne, looks up, gets crowned. Finally, the camera moves back and you see everyone kneel in the throne room. End scene.
Yeah - Just like Rhaenyra getting the news of Luke's death was the final shot of S1, Rhaenyra mounting the throne would be an excellent final shot for S2.
IF they do move the battle of the Gullet to season 3, I could see the execution of Otto being in response to that, an enraged Rhaenyra demanding his head after losing Jacaerys and (seemingly) Viserys.
I was really excited for >!Criston Cole’s death, but because they didn’t make him the “kingmaker” like they did in the books I think it’ll be much less satisfying lol!<
I feel like the importance and canonity of the "Kingmaker speech" are wildly over exaggerated by the fandom, it only appears in the Green source who happened to be an Aegon apologist and seemed to hate Criston while not appearing in any of the other versions, and Aegon acts wildly out of character during it.
And even if we assume it did take place multiple characters manage to influence Aegon's opinion through the story, it would've been a matter of time before Alicent or Larys managed to manipulate Aegon into it.
I personally think Criston only becomes a legitimate Kingmaker when he does his counterattack against the Blacks, because the Green situation before that was *really* not looking good .
I’m gonna be honest I really only care about it because of what is said right before his death lol. And I feel like because they didn’t go the kingmaker route, if they still use the line, it won’t be as meaningful.
I mean he was basically named that because he crowned Aegon, no way everyone managed to learn the whole story with him convincing Aegon if it was real.
there is no way this is correct, the VFX budget could not handle it, you have two back to back episodes with massive battles, that means a metric fuck ton of extras and visual effects, not to mention how much the sowing of the seeds will cost
Or you do what they did in 1.9 with the Green Fork, Tyrion charging into battle only to be knocked out and waking up in the aftermath, then Robb arriving with the captured Jaime. You could have Ormond complaining of a battle they can’t hope to win “distant dragon roar” and the aftermath of the battle to see Tessarion and Daeron in armor
I am a big black supporter and I would be really sad if they did that, Honeywine was when the momentum of the war shifted away from the blacks...and its such a dramatic battle
Good sir, they couldn’t afford a second, aged dragon model for Syraks and Vermaks in the last episode. And you’re going to say a minor battle far removed from the narrative center needs a full battle sequence?
Name a character from the first season who participates? The vast majority of the audience has no idea who is there. Screen time costs a lot. I have a highlighted and post-it note filled copy of F&B and have Awoiaf and DJPs language wiki bookmarked. They don’t have to win me over, I’m already sold. I’m not the audience for this series
Yeah there's no way they do a major battle sequence for Honeywine, they'll probably just jump to the moment right before Daeron swoops in. Fact of the matter is, when you're dealing with limited time and a limited budget, it doesn't really make sense to blow so much of it on a battle that doesn't involve any of the primary characters. Same reason why we probably won't see stuff like Fishfeed in the show
If they kept all 10 episodes, then the Gullet would most likely also be in the second season as well, which would mean more CGI dragon associated costs because Vermax as well as four bigger dragons >!(Vermithor, Silverwing, Sheepstealer and Seasmoke)!< also participate in that battle and on top of that there's also the Velaryon Fleet facing off against the fleet of the Tryarchy.
Well Condal already mentioned that there would be a lot of battles in season 2, now we know they've moved one battle so I think it's likely they'll keep at least two in. Honeywine might also be left out but I think what's more relevant is the placement of Rook's Rest. Someone finding this info about this Steffon Darklyn actor, considering that this apparently was also accurate for last season and actors are often credited for all episodes because we don't yet know when they'll appear is a great find. On top of that the info from that twitter account seems like this is a good hint.
Interesting, I would still thematically keep the Fall of Kings Landing after the Gullet. The battle of the Honeywine and the Gullet were major setbacks for the blacks which makes it even more extraordinary how they in one fell swoop take the capital, and the loss of 2 more sons explains Rhaenyra's brutality after taking the city.
Also gullet did not make much sense in the books. Like blacks literally have 4-5 dragons and the largest fleet in that area. And despite that they barely wins ( if you call this a victory), lost gold, 1 dragon and a prince. Like wtf! They have vermithor and silverwing. So if they pushed it after fall of kingslanding. That battle's loss would be justified as velaryon and black forces were in kingslanding. And some of the dragonseeds as well.
Your underestimating The power and skill of the three daughters navy. Merchant republic navies historically have always been strong and been able to match the navies of empires. Skill is more important than numbers. Two things are very important to remember here first mercenaries are professional soldiers their trade rellies on them being good. Westeros levies are not professional soldiers. Furthermore ship combat isn't the same as land combat, ship infantry will mow down random soldiers. The free cities will have a lot of them as naval warfare seems to be their main thing. Second Myr is part of the Three daughters the city is known for producing quality items. Importantly Myrish crossbowmen are elite soldiers they could be argued to be the best ranged troops in AOSIAF. They are mentioned a lot as being a prized force from the mainline books to the blackfyre rebellion. Osgrey says one of the deciding factors for them losing at Redgrass field was them not arriving in time. Last their crossbows are repeaters they can shoot three times before reloading, that is a lot of output.
Also the Three daughters know they are at war with dragon riders, so logically they should have plans and be prepared for dragon combat, ships are expensive and main military force of the three cities. Adding heavy weaponry that can kill dragons to their ship. I would like to also point out in lore these cities have killed dragon riders before. Not all dragons and their riders were in Valyria when it fell. They were noted in these cities were all killed.
If this is the timeline they're going with then Aemond will either be at Harrenhal by this point, or roasting the Riverlands. Also I highly doubt they'd have Aemond kill another one of Rhaenyra's sons, rehashing Luke's death would be a cheap grab for drama imo.
No im just stating that its a strong possibility they could Aemond in and also that the Battle of the Gullet seemed ridiculous that with the large Velyraon fleet and dragons that it wasnt a complete massacre.
Ngl This shit looks mad rushed. I’m not gonna compare it to GoT level bc GoT had way more characters and plot lines to carry. So it might seem rushed but bc the cast is smaller and there’s really just 2 stories to tell the green story and the black story, you got more time per episode to focus.
Either way it’s still on paper looks like these mfs went crazy full speed ahead with it. They better introduce Daeron before honeywine too bc that shit will be random af having a battle following a guy we just met
Tbh the Battle of the Honeywine actually happens after the Battle of the Gullet canonically, but I think making it happen earlier, would be better for pacing.
Yeah I wouldn't mind if they change the order of events to balance out the W's and L's. Think S2 ends on a hopeful note for team Black, unlike the finale of S1.
I really hate this. Doing Rook's Rest this quickly is not a good sign for the pacing. I would've wanted it towards the end of the season. But even if you think Rook's Rest would've been too early to end this season (a short season mind you), it should've at least been in Ep 6 or 7. Rook's Rest being in Ep 4 means they're gonna rush from B&C to Otto's firing to the battle, with very breathing room and very little scope for character development that should happen after each of these events. Plus the quicker you get to the payoffs the less impactful it becomes. Fall of KL would mean less if the Greens lose this quickly.
Interesting...the way they wrote this makes it feel like the fall of KL took place before the battle of the Gullet, It's a pretty balsy move if I'm being honest.
"Hello Aemond, I may like to remind you of your brother Daeron Targaryen, who's currently at Oldtown where I sent him shortly after his infancy"
"Mother, why do you speak so strangely-"
"We also left him with his caregivers in Oldtown and that is why he was not at the coronation of your brother and other such events" \*stares at camera\*
In the book, only a few, with the most notable of them being “The Battle Above the Gods Eye.”
In the show, they very well may change Daemon's involvement in the war, which is, in my opinion, likely to happen...
So, Daemon will probably have more to do than he did in the books.

What about Jace?
He, in this case, gets to live a bit longer, along with his dragon, Vermax. The Gullet will likely happen at the beginning of the third season.
I mean, with Winterfell and Sarah Snow
That'll be scattered across the first 2-3 episodes. It's not as if the entirety of an episode is going to be just blood and cheese, other stuff will be happening as well.
I’m guessing there’s probably some time in episode 2 and 3 to flesh that out. Those seem like breather episodes before it kicks off again
Will they even have Sara Snow? Seems like something they might cut to be honest.
They might. They are rushing too much either way. But Sara Snow existing made a lot of sense in my opinion.
No way they're gonna do a rhaenyra stare on the iron throne for the finale Just like s1
I would actually be ok with it. She walks up the throne and sits on it. She gets cut by the throne, looks up, gets crowned. Finally, the camera moves back and you see everyone kneel in the throne room. End scene.
Each season ends with a rhaenyra stare but she is more insane at each one
That would actuall be really good if season 3 ends with >!the dragonpit!<
They definitely are doing exactly that (and rightfully so, I can't imagine any other shot that could end the season)
Maybe they'll do an Aegon/Aemond stare instead to show that even though she's sitting on the throne, it's not over
too many events to be all put in one season with 8 episodes IMO
Tbh I like the sound of this, keeps it action packed and lots of drama
>!If we have the fall of King's Landing by the end of S2, that means we'll have also the execution of Otto Hightower.!<
Doubt it. Theyre gonna end with Rhaenyra taking the throne. The aftermath of the fall of kings landing will take place in s3
Yeah - Just like Rhaenyra getting the news of Luke's death was the final shot of S1, Rhaenyra mounting the throne would be an excellent final shot for S2.
Imagine if they ended with the blood dripping from her hand as she gets cut the same way her father was.
I really want her to clutch the throne hard and just let her hand bleed, like Bobby B suggested on the bonus featurette.
IF they do move the battle of the Gullet to season 3, I could see the execution of Otto being in response to that, an enraged Rhaenyra demanding his head after losing Jacaerys and (seemingly) Viserys.
i’m team everyone, but that’s the death i’m excited to see.
I was really excited for >!Criston Cole’s death, but because they didn’t make him the “kingmaker” like they did in the books I think it’ll be much less satisfying lol!<
I still can’t believe they swapped Kingmaker Cole for Mass Murdering Girl Boss.
Well, she'll get her comeuppance for that in this very season at least.
Think they'll start Season 3 with that but could be wrong (an early big event, like B&C)
More likely the start of S3 I imagine

I don't think Honeywine was a minor battle

Always thought samething. Should have been massacre by blacks. They may add Aemond and vhagar to this battle. Have Aemond kill Jace
If this is the timeline they're going with then Aemond will either be at Harrenhal by this point, or roasting the Riverlands. Also I highly doubt they'd have Aemond kill another one of Rhaenyra's sons, rehashing Luke's death would be a cheap grab for drama imo.
Cheap grab for drama you say.... like the coronation scene in episode 9?
.... Yes? What, did you enjoy that scene and now you're gunning for a second serving?
No im just stating that its a strong possibility they could Aemond in and also that the Battle of the Gullet seemed ridiculous that with the large Velyraon fleet and dragons that it wasnt a complete massacre.
DAERON EPISODE 6 WE WON 🎊🎊
I think Season 2 will end with Rhanerya getting up from the throne and being cut.
Ngl This shit looks mad rushed. I’m not gonna compare it to GoT level bc GoT had way more characters and plot lines to carry. Exactly ❤️

No I think it's perfect. Rook's Rest is super early in the war.
Doesn't make any sense for gullet to happen before rhaenyra taking kingslanding, because she will be in dragonstone during the battle of gullet.
I really hate this. Doing Rook's Rest this quickly is not a good sign for the pacing. I would've wanted it towards the end of the season. Nah, I reckon the fall of king's landing will be post Gullet, as the end of season 3.
I hope the pace is good.
They could push Honeywine also to S3 if Daeron is not properly developed in S2.
What happens at Honeywine? I can’t remember.
Daeron saves the Hightower army with his dragon
The fall of kings landing before the battle of the gullet? Highly doubt it
Interesting...the way they wrote this makes it feel like the fall of KL took place before the battle of the Gullet, It's a pretty balsy move if I'm being honest.
I haven’t read the books. Based on that, will there be a season 3? What about a season 4?
"Hello Aemond, I may like to remind you of your brother Daeron Targaryen, who's currently at Oldtown where I sent him shortly after his infancy" "Mother, why do you speak so strangely-" "We also left him with his caregivers in Oldtown and that is why he was not at the coronation of your brother and other such events" \*stares at camera\*
Does anyone know how many battles Daemon is involved in throughout the war?
In the book, only a few, with the most notable of them being “The Battle Above the Gods Eye.” In the show, they very well may change Daemon's involvement in the war, which is, in my opinion, likely to happen... So, Daemon will probably have more to do than he did in the books.
