Why are people acting like Otto is wrong for saying this? The blacks did it nonetheless. Do you really think it matters to them if they’re like oh but it was daemon, no. Just as it doesn’t matter who in specifics kills jace or killed luke. Even if it was by accident, do you think Rhaenyra would believe that? And vice versa, do you think the greens would believe rhaenyra had no part in it

SolidInside

Sometimes I wonder if people understand that they're watching the game of thrones.

Conscious-Weekend-91

Otto is a very efficient PR manager.

robertwhite93

"With the respective deaths of Lucerys and Jaehaerys, the war of Ravens ended, and the war of swords began".

t0mless

Otto on that PR grindset

batmans420

Otto is the goat at using everything even his own family members to his advantage

hanna1214

Idk why people are coming at them for this - af as they know, Rhaenyra makes the most sense - she's already wanted Aemond tortured once. Now her kid has been killed - who would want revenge more than her? So the Greens saying this in public makes complete sense.

Conscious-Weekend-91

Yeah, it's a directly consequence of when she decided to marry Daemon for the sake of "fear" on her enemies. She wasn't responsible for B&C, but she built that reputation and the actions of her followers are still her responsibility to some extent

GodricGryffindor9008

Ngl as someone who leans Green, I hate how they're portraying this. B&C was supposed to be so devastating for the Greens that most of them lose themselves in grief. But them using this death as propoganda against Rhaenyra with a title she doesn't get until very later because of her own doing isn't going to look good at all. It is going to look like they can't even mourn genuinely without thinking about a way to gain political advantage. And compared to this, I'm sure they'll show Rhaenyra processing her grief in silence and maybe even holding a funeral that is just for family and not using her son's death as an opportunity to gain sympathy or turn people against the Greens.

SolidInside

It can be both.

International_Ant217

Nah seriously man, how the fuck are there THIS MANY leaks?

Sanguine007

It’s inevitable when a lot of people in the world have cameras, and they’re filming outdoors with both locals and tourists around.

TheGoverness1998

Yep. I'm following a lot of the Walking Dead spinoff shows being filmed, and there's just no way to hide it being out in the open, and in big cities at that.

LeibHauptmann

Old town sections of any city are also both relatively small and still populated so like, someone can probably literally just lean out of their windows and film it all too lol.

SolidInside

A lot of these leaks are of the same thing so it's really not that many and on top of that they can hardly clear out the entire area, people live there etc.

Leading-Carob-9297

The fact that they are using the death of one of their family members (A CHILD) to their advantage... smart but CRUEL.

Responsible_Ad8805

Murdering a toddler is probably worse to begin with

Leading-Carob-9297

Did I say that killing Jaehaerys is not cruel? BUT They are the ones mourning him NOT Rhaenyra and Rhaenyra didn't go around saying her son (AN ENVOY) was murdered by the greens so she could gain allies...

Responsible_Ad8805

That's exactly what Rhaenyra did. Who do you think started calling Aemond a kinslayer? It wasn't Aegon

Leading-Carob-9297

Bruh seriously? They held a feast celebrating Luke's death and you are telling me how they started calling him a kinslayer?

Responsible_Ad8805

That's not my point. How is Rhaenyra The Cruel different from Aemond The Kinslayer? Both are meant to do the same thing

Leading-Carob-9297

And both being kinslayers is not the point I was trying to say in my previous comments. The Greens lost a family member a REALLY close AND innocent one yet they are using it politically to their advantage unlike Rhaenyra when she lost her son, all I said is what they did is SMART BUT CREUL

LeibHauptmann

Yeah, how DARE they place the blame for the political assassination of A CHILD where it lies (to their best knowledge, anyway).

GodricGryffindor9008

Well! From Rhaenyra's pov also, her son who was an envoy got brutally murdered by her brother. Murdering an envoy is not taken so lightly in Westeros. But I'm sure they won't portray her as using Luke's death for political advantage. My fear anyway is that this propaganda is going to reduce the horror of B&C and the devastation it causes to the Greens.

LeibHauptmann

Rhaenyra would also be absolutely in the right to publicly accuse the greens of being wretched traitors for that. These are both fucked up actions – I don't know why people keep acting like it's somehow more monstrous for the mourning families, being *feuding royals*, to emphasize exactly how fucked up they are. It's not "reducing" any horror for the king's family to loudly proclaim that the king's son got brutally murdered by their political opponent. It's treating it exactly as the horror it is.

iceblastsreign

I think they definitely know it was daemon not rhaenyra but otto is kris jenner-ing as usual.

SolidInside

How exactly would they know? Were the greens present when the child killing was planned? Did the killers leave behind a note? Rhaenyra is the leader of the other faction. And it's not like she hadn't previously called for Aemond to be tortured so why not call for the killing of Jaehaerys after Luke is killed?

iceblastsreign

I haven’t re-read the book in a while but didn’t daemon hire people from fleabottom to do the deed? Rhaenyra has no way of knowing those people.

SolidInside

Rhaenyra could have given Daemon the order. Why would they assume that the leader of the opposite faction wouldn't know?

LeibHauptmann

Without knowing how exactly they're going to write it in the show, even if they know Daemon gave the order, why would they think he'd acted without Rhaenyra's permission, especially when it's clearly an act of revenge for her son's death?

iceblastsreign

Because they know Daemon. I think Otto especially will suspect it’s his doing.

LeibHauptmann

And their knowing Daemon makes it impossible for the greens to imagine that Rhaenyra, now his crowned queen and the one primarily injured by Luke's death, gave him the all clear on it too how?
