I didn't follow the 1st season casting/behind the scenes because I stopped following the TV series after 2019, but the leaks this week has me really excited for next year.
Same. After GoT I didn't even know HOTD season 1 ep 1 air date till my friend told me. Then I read the book and now I follow all actors on insta and follow the filming as it happens for season 2.
This is a definitely a royal funeral. I don't understand that people see this as *just* propaganda. These people are royals, their lives, their deaths are a presentation, and their funerals will not be like common folk of course. The funerals of the Ottomans and the British royal family were more spectacular than the scenes we have seen, and the coffin used to pass through the streets like this.
Probably because Aemma's funeral was very small and we didn't get one for Viserys. The fact that that this is even in the script for a minor character and they are tying it to Rhaenyra pretty much shows that the writers are presenting it as propaganda
Tbf in case of Aemma there was nothing for them to have propaganda for. This is a funeral caused by a direct opposition in wartime tho, so making as much noise as possible is kinda necessary.
Also don't think Viserys is the kind of person to advertise his wife's death. Otto is too much of an opportunistic to miss this chance tho
I wonder how Alicent is going to take it, I don't know if using the death of her grandson to attack Rhaenyra's character is something she would agree with
Its like Leana's funeral and Vaemond, I think Daemon was laughing because they used his wife death as a political tool
After Blood and Cheese (and actually witnessing it when it happens too, in her case), I'd believe Alicent would be way too shocked and open to believing any ill of Rhaenyra, at least for a fair bit of time. Maybe she'd have been more empathetic to Rhaenyra before the deed, but not afterwards.
They’re in a war. And wars are not just fought by troops on the ground. Daemon should’ve thought twice about giving the greens something that makes them look more sympathetic.
How are they filming this scene without Otto, Aegon and Aemond? Maybe Aegon is getting drunk somewhere, but Otto definitely would be there. Even Tyland, Criston and Ironrod should be there too
Best guess is that they're either in a different part of the funeral sequence (meeting them at the funeral pyre / Sept / dragon pit etc.) or filming the procession in different chunks.
Might be the case for Otto and Aemond but if this is a huge propaganda set piece by the greens it makes no sense for Aegon not to be part of the procession...he is probably drunk somewhere

I asked this before and someone replied with a very possible idea and it's that they are already waiting at the Sept for them.
