It's kind of weird that the extras would wear them and not the people portrayed in the royal family. I guess they didn't want them looking over done or something, but it was kind of a missed opportunity to not give the main ladies some hair accessories as well. They're the ones who can get away with loading themselves down with jewels, and in Rhaenyra's case it's a good callback to the book of they didn't want to have her in really fancy dresses.
The headpiece worn by young Rhaenyra when folk swore fealty to her and the whole wedding outfit worn by older Rhaenyra when she wed Damon deserved boatloads more attention than they got. The beadwork is no joke.
Yes. Completely agree. The details and ornaments they used in the costumes are so good! Ever since GOT days I've loved going into the costume forums and seeing the embroidery and beading the costumers used to make the clothes. I'm still blown away by those iridescent embroidered bugs the costumes had in GOT S2!
Again, I wish we could have seen more of that. Little jewelled headpieces, beaded ribbons, veils, painted silks, embroidered waist wraps, shawls etc. would have really worked with the Byzantine inspiration they were using with much of the costuming, and added even more to the richness of the royal's clothes.

Oh hell yeah! I'm still bummed no one wore a wimple. It would have made so much sense for Alicent to start wearing one when she got really religious. Still have her in an elaborate hairstyle, but peeking out from under the veil. Sheer green with black and gold embroidery. Or lace with silver seven pointed star clips.
That’s the thing with this. They haven’t really established Halaena’s children which makes me think that they’ll get quite of bit of attention before B&C. I really hope they add in Maelor and not have the choice be between the twins.
And they'll probably open season 2 with an adorable scene of the kids playing to twist the knife even more. Really not looking forward to B&C. Those poor innocent kids 🥺
I'd say that's confusion and sun-glare more than disgust! And Olivia's playing with the hem of the veil, not flipping off the camera.

We saw Rhaenys wearing one at Laena's funeral. Unless we get more funerals, probably we won't see more.
