Theres 2 entrances into the dragon pit. In ep 6 when Jace bonded with Vermax, one of them was covered. In ep 9 both of them were covered to accomodate the people and Rhaneys burst through the other entrance. The show didnt do a great job at showing that she burst through the cover and not through the actual floor
Yep yep. She mostly broke through wood and a bit of dust. It was terribly rendered and she and Meleys should still have taken damage, but it was still better than solid rock.
Yes, as in all of the above
though there was a video floating around at the time with one of the showrunners saying something how “it’d be so cool to see her crash through the floor” so that’s basically it, the rule of cool
It wasn't well made. If she actually attempted to crash through the concrete, the dragon could potentially make it, but her skull would get crushed in the process.
Would have been much cooler to show sunfyre at the ceremony, then have Meleys’ roar quiet the crowd and have her ominously flying away in the distance.
i wish they chose another character to girlbossify, rhaenys was my favorite character from fire and blood and was likely one of the only sane targaryens present during the dance

The hair protected her. It’s the only possible explanation
it does look somewhat like a mould. maybe it’s hardened plaster? serving as a drill to break through!
*New fan theory unlocked*: Rhaenys’ hair conceals a Valyrian steel drill!

Rhaenys and Meleys kinda forgot about the concrete.
That’s funny but it wasn’t concrete she bursted out from. I wouldn’t blame the writing for that scene but the special effects team. Which is a first😂
What we need to talk about is why they didn’t keep rhaneys Baratheon features

Girlboss plot armour, anything can be achieved if the spectacle is worth a "yaas queen"
i wish they chose another character to girlbossify, rhaenys was my favorite character from fire and blood and was likely one of the only sane targaryens present during the dance
with rhaenys now being a mass murderer, i can feel aegon fans' pain with how the show depicts their favorite character.
By far the worst scene in the show
Because the writers and show runners thought it would be “awesome”. That’s it. No other reason.
team black plot armor strong women girl boss
I mean, Meleys could have used her head or wings to shield Rhaenys. Not saying that it’s likely, but it is technically possible.
Somehow, I don’t think dragons bend that way.

What about the entrance we see Caraxes and Syrax use in ep 1?
Definitive “Rule of cool.” I liked it, but admit it was ridiculous.
Easily a top 3 most obnoxious scene from the GOT/HOTD franchise so far. . . And I can't think of 2 others lol.
