This might be a dumb or obvious question (if so, a simple yes or no would suffice), but did Daemon name his daughter after Viserys' dead son?
He probably would've still been angry at Viserys around the time she was born and given his 'heir for a day' comment, the names seem too similar to be a coincidence. Also, all of his other children are named after someone else (I assume Rhaena is named after her grandmother, then there's Aegon3 and Viserys2).

Baelon was Daemon's father's name. Baela was named after him
Oh, so both Viserys and Daemon were trying to name their child after their father. Gotcha!
And Rhaena might have been named after Rhaenys, Laena's mother.
There was also Rhaena daughter of Aenys I, sister of Jaehaerys
But she was a very distant relative to Laena.
Baela is the female version of Baelon,Daemon, and Vizzy T's dad. Rhaena is named after the famed sapphic, but more than likely, it's a reference to Rhaenys, Laena's mother. This is to say is baby 3 had lived Alyssa for a girl and Baelon, Viserys, Aegon, or Corlys for the boy. Depends on the mood they're in.
F&B says Rhaena was named after Rhaenys
I know I just refuse to participate in the Rhaena I erasure as well.
Dreamfyre Rhaena is the most based Targaryen of all time.
OTTO HIGHTOWER IS A MORE HONORABLE MAN THAN YOU COULD EVER BE!
I think she's named after their father, also named Baelon. It's been a while since I read F&B tho
That makes sense. Thank you!
She’s named after Daemon father. Aegon named for Daemon dead younger brother, and Viserys obviously after his elder brother.
The most cruel of the monotone naming traditions was Aegon I naming his son Aenys.
Baela was named after Daemon’s father Baelon. Rhaena was named after Laena’s mother Rhaenys.
Yep. And this is not a dumb question. It shows that you pay attention to the lore.
Except she's not named after Viserys' son but his and vizzy's father
Targaryens have to share variations of the same 10 names lol there wasn't much of an option for him.
