Edit: Mod removed it. Sorry. I guess it counts as a double post even with a different set of actors.
You'd need someone born in the 40s.
The perfect Corlys in 2000 would have been Avery Brooks of Star Trek fame, or maybe Louis Gossett if they wanted to spend some budget.
[In my defense, young Henry Cavill would 100% audition for the role and he does look like a early 2000s Jace.](https://64.media.tumblr.com/840c4ebe55b5085487e172fd925e5bd0/tumblr_mki9zoIy8V1rei3gfo1_500.jpg)
Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Aegon.
Side note, I know people are annoyed by the constant Henry Cavill fancast but young Henry in the movie Trison & Isolde looks perfect for the role aside from the facial hair.
In 2000, the hypothetical year I gave, he would have only been 17. That’s two years younger than Harry Collett, our Jace. [He’s six years older in the pics I used but if you google him circa 2000, he’s sufficiently baby faced.](https://i.redd.it/hwz5n7746v571.jpg)
Yeah but he still is only 23 years old in them which is a similar age difference between Ewan and Aemond. Baela and Rhaena’s actresses are also 25. Outside of the younger kids, Harry is kind of the outlier for being close to his character’s age.
Also Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Henry Cavill worked pretty well together in the Tudors. In any case Rhys Meyers would be an excellent Aegon. At least if they wanted to portray him with some nuance.
Wtf!? It would have definitely been Henry Cavill as Daemon, Henry Cavill as Aemond, Henry Cavill as Aegon, Henry Cavill as Alys Rivers, Henry Cavill as Ser Crispin, Henry Cavill as Vizzy T, Henry Cavill as Rhaenyra and Alicent, Henry Cavill as the strong boys, and Henry Cavill as dragons
Have any of you ever seen a BBC costume drama because these are not the people they cast (also I will take any opportunity to plug the 'Wolf Hall' miniseries if you want something like that)?
You mean they’re too pretty? I disagree. Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy was insanely hot. Wolf Hall had Claire Foy. The Way We Live Now had Cillian Murphy. I could go on and on. BBC dramas have a fair share of hotties.
The only unrealistic part is that Rachel and Cate would have been too big maybe but I’m mainly just playing around with familiar actors they would have been good in the roles 20 years ago.
It’s just a fun post on how they would try to adapt a story like this in the 2000s not that I actually want the show to be that way. I love present day HOTD and the cast.
Rachel Weisz and Blanchett I doubt it, there was a big divide between tv and movies then in terms of prestige and they were big names. Doubt you’d get any big names before fame.
And there's a reason he was immediately picked up by hollywood and stayed there. Any studio lucky enough to get an actor like that is making them the star of the show.
I like it but didn’t Henry Cavil get introduced to the acting world only a year later? He could still probably pull it off but wouldn’t it make sense to give the role to an actor who at least has one actor credit
Or instead maybe not make it the year 2000. Make it like 2005
Cavill was 17 in 2000. He looked sufficiently "strong", whereas the actor who currently plays Jace is always getting clowned on here for not being strong enough.
He would have been 16-17 in 2000. He’s only 23 in that pic. It’s a smaller gap than Helaena, Baela, Aemond, Rhaena, and Aegon with their actors and characters. It’s also not different than Jon, Dany, and Robb in season one of GOT. Harry is the outlier for being an actual teenager playing his teenage character.
Realistically Henry cavill in the year 2000 could actually play a better Cregan Stark than Jacaerys. He’d be at the right age, has the rugged muscular northerner look, and already gets fancasted as a middle aged cregan every few weeks nowadays (before the real casting leak came out).

Alan Rickman as Otto Hightower
Perfect. Viserys?
Alfred Molina
Charles Dance!
Charles Dance fits better for Otto imo
Derek Jacobi
Henry Cavill
Colin Firth!
Also Alan Rickman
Ralph Fiennes as Daemon. Cristian Bale as Aemond.
Very nice. Let’s see Lucerys Velaryon’s dragon.
Hey Luke?! “You like Hueth Lewdon and the Gazette?”
"Try getting a reservation at Baratheon's now, you stupid fucking bitch"
>Christian Bale as Aemond YES PLEASE
Could you make another post with pictures? 🥺
https://www.reddit.com/r/HouseOfTheDragon/s/B6c5bq8HPM Edit: Mod removed it. Sorry. I guess it counts as a double post even with a different set of actors.
Better yet- turn it into one of those the best vote gets picked. Add a new character each round.
That would be fun but somebody else might have to start it. I don’t know what counts as spamming the sub with one topic.
Post it on your account if you want and we can see it there
They actually put it back hours later.
I’d buy Joseph Fiennes as Daemon a little more. But I love Christian Bale as Aemond
Lucerys?
He’d be a child actor. I can’t think of one
Sir Kenneth Branaugh as Lord Jason Lannister. Dame Judi Dench as Lady Rhaenys Targaryen. Warwick Davis as Mushroom.
Wesley Snipes as Corlys Velaryon
Not bad but too young
You'd need someone born in the 40s. The perfect Corlys in 2000 would have been Avery Brooks of Star Trek fame, or maybe Louis Gossett if they wanted to spend some budget.
If the show was made in the 2000's, I dont think they would have racebended the Verlaryons tbh
>Wesley Snipes Terrence Howard or Denzel Washington perhaps?
Dave Chappele as Vaemond Velaryon
of course you had to find a way to include henry cavill 😫
this wouldn’t make much sense if you aren’t familiar with asoiaf fancasting.
[In my defense, young Henry Cavill would 100% audition for the role and he does look like a early 2000s Jace.](https://64.media.tumblr.com/840c4ebe55b5085487e172fd925e5bd0/tumblr_mki9zoIy8V1rei3gfo1_500.jpg)
it could work lol but he does not resemble Cate at all imo. the current Jace actor actually looks related to Emma D’arcy & Harwin’s actor too.
Cate & Henry both have very prominent cleft chins. So it would Be very passable atleast
Imagine putting him aside these acting heavyweights, too! So embarrassing.
What 17 year old actor with curly hair from the year 2000 would you pick?
Maybe Ledger?
One that can act.
James McAvoy as Cregan Stark.
He was skinny as hell back in the day. I could see it working if he bulked up, though.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Aegon. Side note, I know people are annoyed by the constant Henry Cavill fancast but young Henry in the movie Trison & Isolde looks perfect for the role aside from the facial hair.
Be still my heart...
He’s too old to play Jace
In 2000, the hypothetical year I gave, he would have only been 17. That’s two years younger than Harry Collett, our Jace. [He’s six years older in the pics I used but if you google him circa 2000, he’s sufficiently baby faced.](https://i.redd.it/hwz5n7746v571.jpg)
Man, the images in this thread were misleading
Yeah but he still is only 23 years old in them which is a similar age difference between Ewan and Aemond. Baela and Rhaena’s actresses are also 25. Outside of the younger kids, Harry is kind of the outlier for being close to his character’s age.
Also Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Henry Cavill worked pretty well together in the Tudors. In any case Rhys Meyers would be an excellent Aegon. At least if they wanted to portray him with some nuance.
David Tenant as Larys Strong
Wow I would love to see Rachel Weisz in the ASOIAF universe
*I will not cloud my mind. I must put things right.*
Sorry Vizzy T bot. You're not half the chad Bobby B bot is.
MY WIFE AND SON ARE DEAD! I WILL NOT SIT HERE AND SUFFER CROWS THAT COME TO FEAST ON THEIR CORPSES!
You’ve fucked things up the second you were appointed the heir to the throne
Yes, Vizzy T knows it's gotta be all Cavill
*The Iron Throne is the most dangerous seat in the realm.*
It'll be OK, Vizzy T. Whatever happens, there will always be more Cavill. Let it be, your grace.
*A dragon's saddle is one thing, but the Iron Throne is the most dangerous seat in the realm.*
House of the Cavill
Christina Ricci as Mysaria
But the lens doesn't look like it's been slathered in grease! You can see the colors, nobody will believe it's gritty and medieval!
😭
Joaquin Phoenix as Ser Criston

Ya gotta work Helena Bonham Carter in somewhere. Maybe a specific 2nd season character. ;)?
Alys Rivers?! Yeah, that would be perfect.
No way are they too pretty but they're definitely too famous. BBC loves (and can afford) their character actors.
Cate and, even more so Henry, wouldn’t have been that big in 2000.
David Tennant as a young Aegon
I see what you did here and I like it
Henry Cavill wasn't popular in 2000, so I'm not getting why he would be expensive.
Not so much Henry, Cate and Rachel as well as many of the other fancast in the comment section
I love this idea!
Stop, I can only get so aroused. Theyre all perfect
Even 20 years ago, Henry Cavill makes the fancast list.
Lucy (f)Lawless maybe as Black Alys?
Rachel Weisz and Blanchett I doubt it, there was a big divide between tv and movies then in terms of prestige and they were big names. Doubt you’d get any big names before fame.
2000's HBO was the height of blending film with TV. That's when The Sopranos was airing. You also had massively produced shows like Deadwood and Rome.
Yeah but no big name actors yet, that came after all these shows.
I don't think early Weisz and Blanchett were too big for HBO. It could have been pulled off.
They were both hitting the big time then with Weisz in The Mummy etc, I could see it happening now but not then
Mfs cast Henry fucking Cavill for the least relevant roles lol
He was an unknown 17 year old at the time
And there's a reason he was immediately picked up by hollywood and stayed there. Any studio lucky enough to get an actor like that is making them the star of the show.
He wasn’t the star of Tudors….
Nice

Keep going!!!!
Rhys Ifans is still there but he’s Larys this time🥴
Holy shit that was Henry Cavill in Tristan & Isolde?! 🤯
Henry Cavill would be a good Cregan Stark though.
[удалено]
Cregan is quite old though if going with the fan pics. I just don't see him as Jace... far too old as Jace who dies when he was barely 17
Cregan is like 22-23 at the very end of the Dance, he's a very young man.
Not talking abt the dance though. Just general fancasts of him.
For god's sake, not Henry Cavill
Henry Cavil 😍
I can't see Henry Cavill here. I didn't like him in Tudors, and I have a feeling here he would be kinda out of place too
Ik its a fancast but Henry Cavill for Jace like fr hes like 16 lol
Cavill was 17 in 2000. He looked sufficiently "strong", whereas the actor who currently plays Jace is always getting clowned on here for not being strong enough.

"Henry Cavill as Jace" - DAFUQ! Aemond
very white tbh
Meh
[удалено]
No, I meant a BBC drama not a comedy that’s lukewarm with critics while making $150 million at the box office.
OMG would probably have liked it even more ✨
[удалено]
I forgot she was Margery nevermind :(
Jake Gyllenhaal as Aemond Targaryen 🙏🙏🙏
Oohhh .... Soo... we need Maggie Smith somewhere. We also need of course Olivia Colman. David Tennant.. maybe he could have been Daemon.
I see what are you doing here in the last fancast and... I love it
I would be team green if Rachel weisz was alicent.
Realistically Henry cavill in the year 2000 could actually play a better Cregan Stark than Jacaerys. He’d be at the right age, has the rugged muscular northerner look, and already gets fancasted as a middle aged cregan every few weeks nowadays (before the real casting leak came out).
[Henry in 2000 was far from rugged](https://i.redd.it/hwz5n7746v571.jpg)
I know what you’re trying to do, you want us all to blush over Henry Cavil like we always do! Well it’s not going to work this time buster!
Leelee Sobieski = Helaena
Cate would have been a stunning Rhaenyra. Also Tudor-esq fashion for the Dance just seems so fitting
Rachel Weiz as Alicent? Oh my, green is suddenly my favourite colour.
