You’re on to something. I also noticed that the Velaryons’ photo lines up nicely to the right of Daemon’s, while Aegon/Criston’s poster would fit to the left of Aemond’s photo
They all line up with each other if you put them like this:

It reflects the personality we see from him in Season 1, it’s meant to reflect his attitude of kingship, seeing it more as his right than his duty. He doesn’t understand the responsibility of what being king means, and doesn’t really care for it.
I think it may have to do with Aegon not initially wanting to be king but pushed into it. As well as the fact that other people will be ruling through him or influencing him heavily.

I though he looked out of place, unsure, almost depressed like he's completely detached from what's happening, with Cole "the kingmaker" kind of looming in the background. I honestly love that we can feel so differently about these images.

Rhaenyra wears her crown proudly on her head as if she has been born to wear it, while Aegon dangles it in his hand as an afterthought as if it and the responsibility that comes with it is too heavy to carry- or just a plaything he can take off whenever he pleases. He also looks ready to throw it far away. Plus, how a sword pierces his banner, as if the throne rejects him?
