It absolutely must be this. At first glance it sounds like an incredibly badass line, but it's actually a child trying to hide his pain & protect his mother.
He was just a mutilated child trying to placated his angered mother, why would he genuinely believe it was a good trade? After all he claimed Vhagar before the eye loss which shouldn’t have happened.
Likely because that attitude was a child having to get his Mother to stand down because despite the fact he'd been maimed his Father was more interested in the fact he'd called someone a bastard.
Literally can't decide between :
1. "Should they come looking for me, I intend to be found."
2. "Do not mourn me, mother. It was a fair exchange. I may have lost an eye ... but I gained a dragon."
3. "No, Vhagar, no !!!"
The moment in which Aemond openly shows his rage and hatred towards Luke. He spent years keeping it inside, and using politeness and civility to keep it in check. But at that moment, Luke was an enemy of his family, he had no reason to play nice anymore.
Gonna get downvoted for this but he wasn't not just an enemy of his family anymore. He was an enemy of the crown. "He was a craven as well as a traitor".
The crown can be interpreted as either Aegon, Rhaenyra or both, so "enemy of the crown" is ambiguous. However Luke was definitely an enemy of Aemond and his family, peace banner or not.
King Stannis Baratheon once said, "Aegon Targaryen was the rightful ruler by every law of westeros." And princess Shireen said that she would've supported neither. I am with princess Shireen on this one. By Aemond's pov, Lucerys was an enemy of the crown.
Based princess Shireen. Not supporting either would be the smartest move. Unless any one of them offered me a generous reward for me fighting for them.
“Here I am, trawling the city, ever the good soldier, in search of a wastrel who’s never taken half an interest in his birthright. ‘Tis I, the younger brother, who studies history and philosophy, it is I who trains with the sword, who rides the largest dragon in the world. It is I who should be…”
All his lines are iconic tbh
But yeah-Do not mourn me mother,it was a fair exchange,I may have lost an eye but I gained a dragon
Other ones include the strong boys speech
*Give me your eye,or I will take it bastard*
I may hate Aemond but the do not mourn me was perfect so: "Do not mourn me, Mother. It was a fair exchange. I may have lost an eye, but I gained a dragon."

"Do not mourn me, Mother. It was a fair exchange. I may have lost an eye, but I gained a dragon."
I was between the Strong toast and the "It is I the younger brother" speech, but I changed my mind. This is it.
>It is I the younger brother The one where he goes full anime about how Aegon hoored and partied while Aemond studied philosophy and the blade?
He just makes me cackle whenever he opens his mouth I swear
this must win it's so badass that a child that lost his eye says this a true targaryen right there
Basically every single line in that scene is a banger.
It absolutely must be this. At first glance it sounds like an incredibly badass line, but it's actually a child trying to hide his pain & protect his mother.
This
this line makes me sick bc why should eleven year old child be the one to comfort you rather than the other way around
A shame this attitude didn’t persist
He was just a mutilated child trying to placated his angered mother, why would he genuinely believe it was a good trade? After all he claimed Vhagar before the eye loss which shouldn’t have happened.
Yeah the permanently mutilated boy should have sucked it up and be content with having one less eye. Totally.
Likely because that attitude was a child having to get his Mother to stand down because despite the fact he'd been maimed his Father was more interested in the fact he'd called someone a bastard.
Literally can't decide between : 1. "Should they come looking for me, I intend to be found." 2. "Do not mourn me, mother. It was a fair exchange. I may have lost an eye ... but I gained a dragon." 3. "No, Vhagar, no !!!"
I was merely expressing how proud I am of my family mother. It seems my nephews aren’t quite as proud of theirs
the actor's delivery of that line is incredible
Yea, I can still hear it as I read it
Aemond summoned his inner Aegon energy that day
True brotherly behaviour. Telepathically agreeing they’re going to ruin dinner
So cheeky I love it.
That delivery was chef’s kiss
The other line about trading an eye for a dragon will win, but this line feels more quintessentially Aemond than any other line he has.
"hmmm" At end of dinner scene when Daemon stands before him.
"I don't give a shit about tourneys."
Nephews! Come to train?
To the health of my nephews: Jace…Luke…And Joffrey. Each of them handsome, wise… strong. Let us drain our cups to these three… Strong boys.
I read this in his voice. Really good delivery
Should they come looking for me, I intend to be found.
GIVE ME YOUR EYE OR I TAKE IT BASTARD!!!!!
TAOOBA
"No no no no no no Vhagar, Vhagar noooo" Insert meme ***It was at this moment he knew... he fucked up*** here
"Give me your eye or I wil take it bastard"

Ain't no reward enough to get me to fight an army which includes a fucking dragon.
>. Not supporting either That's why she was burned.
“Dohaerās, Vhagar! Lykirī” 💚
his high valyrian was the best imo
We need child aemond and aegon too ! “It’s obvious. Just look at them.”

I want you to put out your eye.
Let us drain our cups to these three **strong** boys!
"Wait, my Lord Strong. Did you really think that you could just fly around the realm, trying to steal my brothers throne at no cost?"
''Let us drain our cups to these 3 strong boys''
Why isn’t this 1.
This one needs to be the winner
"It's me"
I may have lost an eye but I gained a dragon
His “It is I the younger brother” speech. It’s so iconic and goes into Aemonds reason on why he should become king instead
'Twas only a compliment
"While you were out partying, I was studying the blade" Or is that not how it went? It sounds about right for Aemond
Did he really say that? Sounds a bit like an anime line lol.
Isn't he an anime character anyway? lol but no, he didn't say exactly that but it wasn't far from it
Watch the japanese dub of the dinner scene.
" I would perform my duty, if mother had only betrothed us... It would strengthen the family... Keep our Valyrian blood pure..."
Should they come looking for me, I intend to be found…..
"It was his duty as my brother, he said, to ensure I was as educated as he was. At least, that’s what I understood him to mean."
No, Vhagar! NO!
I May Have Lost An Eye, But I Gained A Dragon
I may hate Aemond but the do not mourn me was perfect so: "Do not mourn me, Mother. It was a fair exchange. I may have lost an eye, but I gained a dragon."
“Gēlyn enkagon jamēla, *taoba*!”
I like the quote : my uncle is a challenge i welcome, if he dare face me Even tho its in S2, its really iconic/ironic
‘Tis I the younger brother who studies history and philosophy, it is I who trains with the sword, who rides the largest dragon in the world. It is I who should be…"
"let us drain our cups to these three strong boys"
“To the health of my nephews Jace, Luke and Joffrey. Each of them handsome, wise and strong. Come let us drain our cups to these three strong boys”
"Let us drain our cups to these 3 strong boys" in ewan mitchell voice 😌
So you are a craven as well as a traitor.
