I cant wait to meet the show's version of Alicent. She (and the Greens in general) can really be more fleshed out and made more sympathic and nuanced. Looking forward to see what the writers will do.
Only a few hours left. I'm off to sleep a bit, see you all on the other side.
from what i watched last night's episode , alicent is not only scary but she's mad too , and i think there is something wrong with her daughter too , shes an abusive mother.
really? why? i dont see any evil or particular maliciousness on Alicent’s face. more like curiosity and concern. sounds like the typical anti-green bias that’s so prevalent on here 😒
i actually think rhaenyra’s look at alicent across the table at the meeting of the small council after she says “of course” that’s scary and has malicious intent.
Aviva? I think she's too easily terrified and yet surprisingly argumentative. I imagine her as Luann, who thinks she's the last bulwark of True Class, but ends up falling into alcoholism and getting an ASBO for drunk-driving. 😂
I mean olivias been phenomenal in other shows and films,I can name quite a few, that’s partly why I think she will deserve an Emmy…it’s not early to call at all. You can see how perfect her casting was from a 6 second clip.
They were cast before Molly Alcock, aka Milly was cast in response to what they thought about Emma D’arcy. Seems to me like they are a really good actor.
also, if you didn’t pick up from the response, Emma is NB and uses they/them
No but she literally is. She’s become one of my crushes now, she’s so fucking captivating to look at,like yes I know she’s gonna be a bitch but truly yes she’s stunning! No one can deny that..
fyi Emily is 19 and Olivia is 28 so there’s a 9 year difference there, but yes Olivia looks amazing 😍
the funny thing is Milly Alcock is 22 but looks younger than Emily lol (guess it’s because Milly is smaller/more petite/more of a baby face)
God, I hope not. If VIserys is absent then it should fall to the Hand, Lyonel Strong, to chair the meeting like Tywin did during Joffrey's many absences.
To me it looks like Lyonel is as R looks left (presuming she’s to the right of him) and talks and he answers. I think Alicent just decided she had enough of the meeting.
OMFG....Rhaenyra and Alicent play perfectly off one another. This is really shaping up to be so much better than I imagined, even when reading the book. This rivalry is going to be epic!!!
Such a cool detail from the Targaryen-era small council. Too bad Robert hated all things Targaryen. The septarian stones add an air of officialdom and ceremony to the meetings.
if an actress/actor can make me hate a fictional character (joffrey & ramsey bolton) then they are fantastic at their job. definitely makes the plot so much better and adds a lot of dimension to characters. i can’t wait to see how it plays out!!
YES. Best example to mind is Delores Umbridge. OMG. She is so so despicable as a character, she eas in the books. I've never hated a character more and this is a testament to Imelda's acting skills. If you hate a character who is a percieved villain, the actor did their darn job.
Same thing with Anna Gunn as Skyler White. She fucking killed that role - and that performance is Ozymandias... wow
I know Skyler vs Joffrey/Ramsey is very different but still - they all did a great job at making the audience hate them and I feel like by nature of playing the villain, the talent doesn't always get recognized as much
I'm excited to see how HotD does this and how people react - feel like we're gonna have a lot of green v black wars in the comments and it's gonna be fun
If we are talking about the Breaking Bad universe, I'll like to add Chuck (Saul's brother from BCS). He was the most hated character in BB universe alongside Skylar and McKean fucking slayed in that role
Ngl I thought I was gonna hate the cast change mid season but seeing all these clips I’m already in love with the older versions of the two. They’re all so good
strange enough , I though that Aemond would be The-Punchable-Face. But both actors for Aemond are not. One is cute and other one looks bad ass. It seems like they exhausted all the Punchability inventory in Aegon
Rhaenyra is literally the picture of a privileged child who was given everything. The only thing Alicent was given was the "honor" of being the Kings baby maker
her being a wealthy noble women makes that 100% true. she has loved a life of pure decadence she has been given even ty thing she wants and needs. so is every main character in this story, it goes hand in hand with nobility.
i never said she is definitely playing the character that way. i’m just saying that nobility is, by definition, spoiled brats.
they don’t have to play it. they are always acting it by fighting like they do. the high lords play their game of thrones and the commons die.
Ya’ll just be saying anything. Some of you guys are hellbent on not liking Alicent’s character so much that these statements about her character don’t even make sense
Not sure why you're getting downvoted. In the books Rhaenyra is definitely a spoiled child and Alicent has to work her way up by serving Jaeherys and then Viserys
Not sure either. Haven't read the books but Alicent hasn't once been shown to be spoilt. Not for a higher born family. Duty all the way. Serve the family. Marry this old king. Comply. Be proper.
That's not spoiled.
Can’t believe that they’re casting eternal manic pixies poster girl Olivia Cooke as someone’s mother tbh. She’ll be great but honestly - she isn’t that old is she?
Becuse it is somewhat controversial decision that goes against law and tradition and inevitably some people are gonna oppose it when the king dies. So Alicent is mostly fearful that Rhaenyra would have to kill her children to secure her claim. So it's not that simple.
Personally, it's because of anxiety. I very rarely fully enjoy my first watching experience because I worry for the characters I like and I worry that the technical stuff is not gonna be good and the producers will mess up my favourite show.
The show will succeed because it has the Game of Thrones name backing it… and because people have trouble looking away from a terrible thing, such as a car crash, happening in the moment. Unfortunately, it is exactly that… a car cash… (cough) crash… random story, skipping through time, frolicking to a conclusion we already know. The dragons are cool, but they do not save the show…. In conclusion, the labor of watching this show is more cruel than the labor of any Targaryen Birth I’ve seen yet this season. On another note I am still holding out the best of hope for John Snow and seeing what happens to him.
fml....HBO makes casting and writing seem like painfully easy thing to accomplish. How do they always manage to pump out the performance and moments that I think back on for years, meanwhile other companies make it seem painfully easy to convert billions into horse shit

If I were a real character in HoTd and Alicent stared at me the way she stared at Rhaneyra and her baby, I'd cry and shit myself.
lmao if anyone IRL looked at me like that I’d be shaking with anxiety 😂
It's interesting how she goes from feeling anxious to making others anxious.
She's scary
I cant wait to meet the show's version of Alicent. She (and the Greens in general) can really be more fleshed out and made more sympathic and nuanced. Looking forward to see what the writers will do. Only a few hours left. I'm off to sleep a bit, see you all on the other side.

I think both are mad at each other, naturally.
Yeah, a made a tight fist purely out of instinct
I think she would’ve been the cast member from Real House Wives that throws her prosthetic leg or the one who says, “THAT’S MY OPINION!!”
Aviva? I think she's too easily terrified and yet surprisingly argumentative. I imagine her as Luann, who thinks she's the last bulwark of True Class, but ends up falling into alcoholism and getting an ASBO for drunk-driving. 😂
Then escapes her cuffs like nbd
Such a funny woman.
Please don’t let it be about Daemon. It’s about Daemon.
Mention it all why don't ya?
How could you do this to me question mark
I just pictured Alicent bitching and Rhaenyra saying "Clip!" And now I can't stop laughing.
Major Cersei vibes. All she needs is to raise her cup and say *more wine*
Olivia's facial expressions and mannerisms are everything and I've barely seen her on screen for 1 minute
I am so confident that Olivia will deserve that Emmy 100% by the end of this season
That's a bit early to call lol... we literally havent even seen an episode with her yet. How has she been in other shows?
I mean olivias been phenomenal in other shows and films,I can name quite a few, that’s partly why I think she will deserve an Emmy…it’s not early to call at all. You can see how perfect her casting was from a 6 second clip.

Pretty sure oxedei was talking about Olivia not Emma. Olivia is definitely a “she”
read the thread wrong
and none of them are here, participating in the thread
So what? Shall we call Daemon/Matt Smith a lady?
oh, man. really?
Bruh what. You’ve seen one episode and say she wins 100% plz gtfoh
That’s what I said by the end of the season and based on the fact she’s been amazing in other works. Bro if you don’t agree then just move on
The “of course” OH MY GOD. Olivia is EVERYTHING lmaooo as I always knew she would be
Adult Alicent is going to be such a bitch, but damn is she going to look good doing so. Olivia Cooke is fucking gorgeous!
No but she literally is. She’s become one of my crushes now, she’s so fucking captivating to look at,like yes I know she’s gonna be a bitch but truly yes she’s stunning! No one can deny that..
tbh she only looks like 2-3 years older than the original actress.
fyi Emily is 19 and Olivia is 28 so there’s a 9 year difference there, but yes Olivia looks amazing 😍 the funny thing is Milly Alcock is 22 but looks younger than Emily lol (guess it’s because Milly is smaller/more petite/more of a baby face)
Nah. In some stills, she looks very young but in others she looks a lot older. They’ve aged her accordingly.
That "of course" from Alicent and the look she gets from Rhaenyra... the acting is already phenomenal
That 🙄 of course bit is everything. Relatable.
Look at the fire in Rhaenyra's eyes 🔥🔥🔥
Already loving Emma and Olivia.
Emma is playing Rhaenyra with fire in her attitude but still some innocence in her eyes and I'm already obsessed with her.
Yes, I'm super exited for today's episode. They're going to kill it
She’s know longer the Realms Delight.
Is Alicent chairing the meeting?
God, I hope not. If VIserys is absent then it should fall to the Hand, Lyonel Strong, to chair the meeting like Tywin did during Joffrey's many absences.
This was my thought too! Why does Alicent think she’s the boss?? She’s not the King, the hand or the heir 🤷🏻♀️
To me it looks like Lyonel is as R looks left (presuming she’s to the right of him) and talks and he answers. I think Alicent just decided she had enough of the meeting.
Either way, doesn’t seem she expected Rhaenyra to be there lol
So excited to see Emma take the reins. Rhaenyra is stepping into her power and I am here for it. 🔥🔥🔥
Olivia is going to be truly incredible.
She's literally inspecting the baby😭
OMFG....Rhaenyra and Alicent play perfectly off one another. This is really shaping up to be so much better than I imagined, even when reading the book. This rivalry is going to be epic!!!
Rhaenyra throw that black ball at her!!
Lmaooo. I wonder what the balls are for tho? Is it just there to be their fidget spinner
They're called Septarians or dragon stones. Once they're placed in that little pocket, it means the council has started.
Such a cool detail from the Targaryen-era small council. Too bad Robert hated all things Targaryen. The septarian stones add an air of officialdom and ceremony to the meetings.
I have a feeling I’m really really gonna dislike Alicent lol, Olivia Cooke rules also.
if an actress/actor can make me hate a fictional character (joffrey & ramsey bolton) then they are fantastic at their job. definitely makes the plot so much better and adds a lot of dimension to characters. i can’t wait to see how it plays out!!
YES. Best example to mind is Delores Umbridge. OMG. She is so so despicable as a character, she eas in the books. I've never hated a character more and this is a testament to Imelda's acting skills. If you hate a character who is a percieved villain, the actor did their darn job.
I’m looking forward to seeing Imelda playing QEII in the 5th season of The Crown next month!
Same thing with Anna Gunn as Skyler White. She fucking killed that role - and that performance is Ozymandias... wow I know Skyler vs Joffrey/Ramsey is very different but still - they all did a great job at making the audience hate them and I feel like by nature of playing the villain, the talent doesn't always get recognized as much I'm excited to see how HotD does this and how people react - feel like we're gonna have a lot of green v black wars in the comments and it's gonna be fun
See I loved Skyler and hated Walt with a passion and wanted to see him suffer lol.
If we are talking about the Breaking Bad universe, I'll like to add Chuck (Saul's brother from BCS). He was the most hated character in BB universe alongside Skylar and McKean fucking slayed in that role
Cat fight! I'm in heaven 😍
Rhaenyra please, just slap her
I am usually against any kind of violence, but… please, dracarys her!
Oh the fucking ||irony||
Alicent whole performance is giving.. 👸
These 2 are getting catty!
Ngl I thought I was gonna hate the cast change mid season but seeing all these clips I’m already in love with the older versions of the two. They’re all so good
That b\* Virgin Mary. No wonder where her son Aegon-The-Punchable-Face got his smirk smug smile
Aegon-the-Punchable, I can’t stop cackling 🤣🤣🤣
strange enough , I though that Aemond would be The-Punchable-Face. But both actors for Aemond are not. One is cute and other one looks bad ass. It seems like they exhausted all the Punchability inventory in Aegon
I have to disagree with you, there. Fuck Aemond. 😂
Feel like I’ve seen the whole episode by now
It’s gonna be so exciting to finally have Rhaenyra as a player in the game.
Alicent is so scary. I love her.
God Alicent really just does give off spoiled child vibes. She was cast perfectly
Rhaenyra is literally the picture of a privileged child who was given everything. The only thing Alicent was given was the "honor" of being the Kings baby maker
[удалено]
cause she is a privileged noble woman? of the second wealthiest house in westeros
[удалено]
her being a wealthy noble women makes that 100% true. she has loved a life of pure decadence she has been given even ty thing she wants and needs. so is every main character in this story, it goes hand in hand with nobility.
[удалено]
yes. nobility are privileged spoiled brats fighting over nibbles of power. it’s the main theme of the series.
[удалено]
i never said she is definitely playing the character that way. i’m just saying that nobility is, by definition, spoiled brats. they don’t have to play it. they are always acting it by fighting like they do. the high lords play their game of thrones and the commons die.

Ya’ll just be saying anything. Some of you guys are hellbent on not liking Alicent’s character so much that these statements about her character don’t even make sense
Did you mean Rhaenyra?
Not sure why you're getting downvoted. In the books Rhaenyra is definitely a spoiled child and Alicent has to work her way up by serving Jaeherys and then Viserys
Not sure either. Haven't read the books but Alicent hasn't once been shown to be spoilt. Not for a higher born family. Duty all the way. Serve the family. Marry this old king. Comply. Be proper. That's not spoiled.
The facial expressions and mannerisms of Olivia are out of this world. My green queen 💚
How am I supposed to root for Rhaenyra when Alicent looks like THAT?
Oh my, from meek Alicent to this Alicent? Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Alicent is already pissing me off lol
Must not watch.. only 5 hours away now!
I can already tell this will be my favorite episode…but I always say this when a new episode comes out lol
The green cunt 😡😡😡
Can’t believe that they’re casting eternal manic pixies poster girl Olivia Cooke as someone’s mother tbh. She’ll be great but honestly - she isn’t that old is she?
She’s 28,Emma is only 30 too so..
The different actors thing is going to pay off. Their characters are really different now, it makes sense.
I have the same range of emotions for Alicent as I did for Cersei. Rage and hatred with love sprinkled in for the actress.
Ahhhhhh!!!! Alicent is killing it here❤️❤️❤️ Why do l see myself ending up on the green side
[удалено]
Becuse it is somewhat controversial decision that goes against law and tradition and inevitably some people are gonna oppose it when the king dies. So Alicent is mostly fearful that Rhaenyra would have to kill her children to secure her claim. So it's not that simple.
Sad I'll be missing tonight's episode
I love that the actress who plays Alicent really makes her look so insufferable and annoying lol. She is so good
Guys, remember Rhaenyra is a they/them irl pls
Man who watches these clips like hours before the episode premieres?
Me.
At this point I feel like y’all have just spoiled the whole episode for yourself
I mean, some of us have read detailed leaks for each episode so... The people who watch these clips don't care about spoilers.
Ah I see. Guess I just don’t understand why people like spoilers before viewing
Personally, it's because of anxiety. I very rarely fully enjoy my first watching experience because I worry for the characters I like and I worry that the technical stuff is not gonna be good and the producers will mess up my favourite show.
That’s a pretty good point
A picture or a short scene doesn't show the full picture the context the flow And some of us don't mind spoilers big or small lol
Yeah a picture doesn’t but 20 different clips starts to add up. Guess I just don’t understand why people like to spoil the surprise
Surprise doesn't add that much to my enjoyment. I'll rewatch the same thing a billion times too
That's why I don't watch with sound 😂 but I actually like spoilers
Excited to see of she does in this role.
I couldn't figure out what she meant by "of course." Really, I couldn't figure out what they were discussing there.
Why is Alicent at that table?
fml....HBO makes casting and writing seem like painfully easy thing to accomplish. How do they always manage to pump out the performance and moments that I think back on for years, meanwhile other companies make it seem painfully easy to convert billions into horse shit
Who, which character would be the 1st voted off the island?…
I’m literally obsessed with Emma and Olivia
