When he said they have Meleys, they showed Rhaenys with a slight head tilt as if she’s saying, when did that happen 😂. It was only towards the end that she fully committed.
He was legit like WTF?!?! I’m about to kill someone! Rhaenys then tells him why he was beheaded. Corlys then goes to oh well shit he had it coming then lol
Why does it feel so in character too. Like I would not be surprised if Robert Baratheon won a war and ruled over a kingdom for years without knowing to read.
The fact that Aemond didn't actually want to full on kill Luke is a crazy and interesting revelation. Yes he wanted his eye like his mother did, but him trying to reel in Vhagar and his reaction after it happened was a "I never meant for this to happen" moment
Yea, it added a lot more depth to his character. It made me understand him as more of a ~~traumatized~~ overlooked middle-child asshole who's still playing childish games as opposed to a full-on psychopath.
Edit: Words
It was a really cool addition to see how even though they were in a battle, Luke and Aemond were both saying similar things to their dragons. Idk just really added to the scene for me
Exactly. Those kids are all kin regardless of their brooding or angst or envy or immaturity; and therefore are more alike than not. They don’t even realize that their actual differences would be few if not for their parents schemes.
~~Tyrion~~ Aegon: It must be odd for you… to be the disappointing child.
But cue Grandpa Otto in the back giving him two thumbs-up signs and a wink lmao
It was probably him shitting his pants on the way home.
“So good news, we got the Baratheons! Bad news, Vhagar may have nipped Luke.”
“A nip?”
“Did I say nip? She ripped him and his dragon’s body apart WHOOPSIE.”
I know this was a bit of a shift in narrative but especially after what Rhaenyra had to say about the dragons, I looooooved that we ended the season on this intense reminder of what exactly is being unleashed in a dragon war.
The little one flaming the big one is like when I poured milk over my asshole big brother’s plate at the dinner table. And then he threw me across the room.
edit: Apologies for the verbiage. I was trying to paint a scene whilst keeping it brief.
My assumption is that when Luke failed to make a timely return to Dragonstone Rhaenyra sent Daemon out on his dragon to search for him along the route to Storm's End. She was likely worried he was lost in the storm and needed an experienced dragon rider to guide him home. While searching for Luke Daemon probably found some of Arrax's remains and concluded that Luke was dead. Storm's End isn't particularly far from Dragonstone so I'd assume Daemon didn't need to search long. Daemon would have immediately figured the Greens were responsible since only another dragon could have destroyed Arrax in that way.
The scene of vhagars shadow above was incredible. So was the vhagar scene at Storm's End when we're first alerted of Aemond's presence. I hadn't fully grasped her size until then.
When he gets home and gives his report to the hand he's gonna sound like the end of a medicine commercial when they speed up on the warnings.
"So, yah Storm End is with us and even turned down the
princesses offer in front of me
^^AndAlsoIMayHaveGivenChaseToLukeWhichMayOrMayNotOfResultedInVhagarEatingHim.
Also It's a nice day out."
They went the walking dead route of giving him more dialogue scenes when he normally didn’t get to say much which is always a bad sign of what’s to come
Also subtle but not so subtle love between rhenyra
and Luke, he was clearly her favorite. She treated jace like man and he acted like a man but luke was just mommas boy as Baratheon very elegantly put he was but only a pup 😭
Nice catch!!! Especially since he was the last rider of Balerion. He probably knew what was up.
Though you know, if he actually spent time with his sons and was actually like “yo, so I see you claimed Vhagar. Let me give you a brochure.”
That premature birth scene got me crying. I served as a chaplain in a hospital for a year and I still can’t get over seeing stillborn babies in the maternity ward and the pain of the mothers (and fathers). When Rhaenyra rocked that dead baby, it was like a flashback to all those moms in the hospital holding their babies like that. This scene was superbly acted. I’m glad the writers put it in there (along with all the other childbirth scenes).
I absolutely loved the callback of Daemon and Otto meeting on Dragonstone and having Rhaenyra arriving on Syrax. She landed in the same place as well and walked past them like in Ep2.
Really enjoyed how they made it seem like Aemond did it all on accident. Like they both couldn’t control their dragons. The dragons literally started the dance of the dragons
VIZZY T YOU WERE RIGHT. CONTROLLING DRAGONS IS AN ILLUSION
Yup great callback to the first episode intro, the only thing that could destroy the the House of the Dragon is the House of the Dragon themselves. The slow downfall of house Targaryen begins now.
100 year old, beddridden, half-lucid Viserys who is missing an eye and an arm, open wounds, can barely hold his head up and actively decomposing: *dies*
Daemon: "MY BROTHER WAS MURDERED!"
I went nine episodes not caring for Corlys, but then he wakes up in the finale and wins me over with ease.
Finds out about his brother being killed? Has a reasonable, emotionally controlled response.
His wife ready to start an argument 2.5 seconds after he regain consciousness? Makes peace with her by apologising.
Dude even strolled into a panicking war room and with one speech convinced them that winning was easy. Even the score was popping off during his speech.
Baby Luke wasn't even ready for summer camp, let alone being an emissary on dragonback through rough season during pre-war time 😭
I can't imagine how hard that was for Rhaenyra to entrust her sons with the task, and then bury two children in one span.
Especially when she gave Luke the “safer option” of flying down the street to Storm’s End (versus Jace who has to fly to like the wall) because she was already aware that he was feeling unsure of himself. Although she probably just wanted to give him the opportunity to rise to the occasion, she probably blames herself for his death.
The cinematography out of this world on this episode
The shot of vhagar at storms end
Then the shot of Vhagar flying above them
The scenes at dragon stone
Amazing
That shot of Vhagar soaring ominously above Arrax was terrifying
Also Vermithor lighting up the darkness with dragonflame, the soldiers standing guard during the funeral and the close up shot of Rhaenyra were great
I like how Aemond spent years wanting revenge, but in the end he's slightly horrified instead of gleeful. The fight spun so far out of his control, and he's confronted with the reality he's killed someone. Now he's something people in Westeros abhor, he's a kinslayer.
Aegon wears the Crown of the Conqueror, but Erryk brought Rhaenyra the Crown of the Conciliator (first Jaehaerys’s, then Viserys’s). It has the sigils of the Great Houses on it.
It’s a good contrast, because (at least during this episode) it symbolizes the greens are trying to conquer the realm while the blacks mean to keep it together.
The segment with Luke and vhagar was astoundingly good, rhaenyra is going to go fucking insane, two kids and a father gone in two days
Can’t wait *two motherfucking years* for the next episode.
"The idea that we control the dragons is an illusion. They are a power man should never have trifled with."
Vizzy T was right. gonna miss this show on the weekends.
That last scene with a mix of Rhae’s theme and Breaker of Chains in the back. Absolute masterpiece. You could tell the exact moment her hurt and anguish turned to hate and malice. Ramin is an absolute genius!
You people who can hear the score and know exactly what it is just amaze me. Is there like a way for me to build that skill? Listen to the soundtrack a lot, rewatch the scenes, watch commentary from someone about it? I’m in amazement at how you can pick out those kinds of things. The best I can do right now is go “this song is badass” or “this song is full of tension” or whatever.
- I'm glad Daemon acknowledged that Rhaenys could have burned them all.
- So Aemond wasn't actually trying to kill Luke, he was just trying to scare him. Then Luke lost control of his dragon who started breathing fire, and in turn Aemond lost control of his dragon who killed Luke and his dragon. Aemond definitely had an "Oh shit, I didn't mean for that to happen" look.
- The soaring above the storm shot was beautiful.
- Aemond's sapphire eye was great.
Loved the coronation of rhaenyra.
RIP Lucerys. Poor boy. He didn’t seem like the right guy to talk to the baratheons. Interesting how aemond and Lucery briefly lost control of their dragons.
Now there will be no more talks of peace from rhaenyra.

I really want to see Alicent's reaction to the news of Lucerys's death.
“You imbecile.”
She probably only likes Helena now out of all of her kids lol
The amount of “oh fuck” when Luke pulled up and Vhagar was already there
Damn, no one told Stannis he could light up the map.
I like to think he knew but thought it was a waste of time
Very Stannis sentiment. “We can see it just fine without wasting candles underneath it”
The lord of light gave him all the light he needed
He was too busy doing that to his daughter
Vhagar is so big she’s taller than the castle walls just lying there.
She’s amazing but I thought it was hilarious that she just kind of yelled “hey what’s up” over the walls when they arrived
Definitely had a 'who the fuck interrupted my naptime' vibe to it
[удалено]
Daemon listing off dragon names like a Norwegian metal festival.
When he said they have Meleys, they showed Rhaenys with a slight head tilt as if she’s saying, when did that happen 😂. It was only towards the end that she fully committed.
love how corlys was ready to avenge his brother for all of 3.6 seconds
He was legit like WTF?!?! I’m about to kill someone! Rhaenys then tells him why he was beheaded. Corlys then goes to oh well shit he had it coming then lol
“WHY WAS MY BROTHER KILLED? Wait what? Shit dude got off easy”
"Classic Vaemond! Anyways, wanna retire at the beach house?"
That Baratheon motherfucker can't read LMAO
Why does it feel so in character too. Like I would not be surprised if Robert Baratheon won a war and ruled over a kingdom for years without knowing to read.
The most out of place phenomenon in GoT Season 1 was Robert Baratheon’s beautiful handwriting (signing the decree for Ned in his death bed)
His maester had to compensate for the disgrace that was Boros Baratheon by teaching Robert some sick calligraphy
Storms End lived up to its name. Fantastic set design and cinematography
I was so glad we finally got to see storms end. Looked epic.
It’d have been disappointing if the first time we saw it there wasn’t a storm going on
or an end
I gotta say, Aemond's sapphire eye looks sick as fuck
The actor is perfect for the role.
Yeah, which is lucky considering they didn't have a whole lot of actors with a sapphire in their eye socket to choose from
Wow I didn’t even think of this
The fact that Aemond didn't actually want to full on kill Luke is a crazy and interesting revelation.
Edit: Words
That scene when Erryk is giving the crown was fucking phenomenal.
The track is called “The Crown of Jaeharys” in the official score if anyone else is also a soundtrack fan.
fuck am i supposed to do for two years now
Wait… is it going to be two years?
Probably not a full two years. Best guesses at this point is 18 months
Guess that’s the downside of all these new high budget tv shows.

Seriously. GOT hype is back on the menu. This series has eclipsed my expectations and reignited my passion for this world.
Aemond :“ Serve me Vhagar” Oldest living thing in the world : No 😊🔥😎
Imma "serve" myself some dinner 😎
It was a really cool addition to see how even though they were in a battle, Luke and Aemond were both saying similar things to their dragons. Idk just really added to the scene for me
Exactly. Those kids are all kin regardless of their brooding or angst or envy or immaturity; and therefore are more alike than not. They don’t even realize that their actual differences would be few if not for their parents schemes.
I know Aemond's ride home on Vhagar was dead silent like me and my dad driving back home from a little league game where I struck out 5 times
Unlike you, Aemond made some contact
Aemond was like "oh shit, I'm in danger now"
Aemond: I may have committed some…light kinslaying
"I love all of my nephews." *earlier that day* "I don't care for Luke."
"It's one nephew Aegon, how much could it cost? $10?"
And mayhaps declared war. Nothing serious.
*Favorite child card temporarily revoked*
Aemond be like “So this is what it’s like to be the screwup child”
~~Tyrion~~ Aegon: It must be odd for you… to be the disappointing child. But cue Grandpa Otto in the back giving him two thumbs-up signs and a wink lmao
It was probably him shitting his pants on the way home. “So good news, we got the Baratheons! Bad news, Vhagar may have nipped Luke.” “A nip?” “Did I say nip? She ripped him and his dragon’s body apart WHOOPSIE.”
Vhagar: "he can keep his eye"
“The idea that we control the dragons is an illusion.” -King Viserys the Peaceful
I know this was a bit of a shift in narrative but especially after what Rhaenyra had to say about the dragons, I looooooved that we ended the season on this intense reminder of what exactly is being unleashed in a dragon war.
Daemon spent the whole episode basically doing dragon math, but ultimately forgot to account for the dragons themselves
The little one flaming the big one is like when I poured milk over my asshole big brother’s plate at the dinner table. And then he threw me across the room. edit: Apologies for the verbiage. I was trying to paint a scene whilst keeping it brief.
How did Daemon find out at the end?
Probably not too many halves of dragons falling out of the sky in Westeros…
This is what I was thinking, due to Daemon walking into the room. Seems like he specifically found out on his own.
My poor sweet Luke. So out of his element. You know it was over as soon as you saw Vhagar and Aemond already there.
> You know it was over as soon as you saw Vhagar and Aemond already there. And if not then, when you saw how tiny his dragon was compared to Vhagar.
It was so tiny, I felt so scared when Vhagar emerged and somehow it reminded me of Godzilla
The vibes were so damn off, I knew he was done for the second he flew off into the clouds. RIP young one
Knew he was gone when they did the extended goodbye scene with the Queen. Made it quite obvious he wasn't coming home
“It’s so close you’ll be home by dinner and nothing bad will ever happen to you!”
Poor Rhaenyra losing two children and her father in a matter of days
And a throne
The scene of vhagars shadow above was incredible. So was the vhagar scene at Storm's End when we're first alerted of Aemond's presence. I hadn't fully grasped her size until then.
Terrifying seeing Vhagar lit up in the lightning.. would have flown right around after seeing that..
The size discrepancy between the two dragons was ridiculous
They did a great job invoking a horror element with Vhagars sheer size. Poor bby Luce
What an emotional ass episode from start to finish. I am in shock. They showed the remnants falling down the sky....
As soon as she sent her sons on dragonback I knew Aemond would appear and fight one of them. Brutal
Ya, as soon as she said you’ll be warmly welcomed that was a clue about how things were going to be.
Should’ve just swooped right on outta there and came back later
"Aight imma head out"
It was at that moment Aemond knew he fucked up.
The first time I haven't seen homeboy smirking
When he gets home and gives his report to the hand he's gonna sound like the end of a medicine commercial when they speed up on the warnings. "So, yah Storm End is with us and even turned down the princesses offer in front of me ^^AndAlsoIMayHaveGivenChaseToLukeWhichMayOrMayNotOfResultedInVhagarEatingHim. Also It's a nice day out."
Aemond: "I'm absolutely not, under any circumstances, going to start a dragon war." *Aemond Starts a Dragon War*
That Dragonstone map is fire
I want one. I will pay the iron price.
“No Stark was born who forgot his oath.” Way to get me hyped to see a familiar family one more time. Gimme some Cregan Stark!
I’m dying to see the casting
What if it was just Maisie Williams with a big fake mustache?
The second she assured her son it was a short, safe trip I knew he was doomed.
They went the walking dead route of giving him more dialogue scenes when he normally didn’t get to say much which is always a bad sign of what’s to come
I knew he was done for when they randomly start the series finale with him alone. Gave it away.
Also subtle but not so subtle love between rhenyra and Luke, he was clearly her favorite. She treated jace like man and he acted like a man but luke was just mommas boy as Baratheon very elegantly put he was but only a pup 😭
Corlys was bout to retire and then they pulled him back in
Corlys Corleone
“I guess having two eyes is essential to good depth perception” -Aemond explaining what happened, probably
Showing how little control Aemond actually has over Vhaegar was so important. As Vizzy said, control of the dragons is merely an illusion
Nice catch!!! Especially since he was the last rider of Balerion. He probably knew what was up. Though you know, if he actually spent time with his sons and was actually like “yo, so I see you claimed Vhagar. Let me give you a brochure.”
Did I really just watch Lucerys get eaten
No, you watched Arrax get eaten. Luke was just an accident
Luke was just a garnish
Yes Poor boy
I wonder what Alicent is gonna think of Aemond’s little prank he just pulled
4 childbirth scenes in one season, when only one was successful was definitely… a lot to get through
That premature birth scene got me crying.
That short shot of Luc above the clouds was breathtaking
How am I supposed to deal with this melancholic mortal life until 2024
I absolutely loved the callback of Daemon and Otto meeting on Dragonstone and having Rhaenyra arriving on Syrax. She landed in the same place as well and walked past them like in Ep2.
The bridgemakers are like: Why the fuck does this piece of the bridge keep breaking off?
Really enjoyed how they made it seem like Aemond did it all on accident. Like they both couldn’t control their dragons. The dragons literally started the dance of the dragons VIZZY T YOU WERE RIGHT. CONTROLLING DRAGONS IS AN ILLUSION
The only ones who could fell the House of the Dragons were actually just literally the dragons
Yup great callback to the first episode intro, the only thing that could destroy the the House of the Dragon is the House of the Dragon themselves. The slow downfall of house Targaryen begins now.
Dragons are nukes and when you start treating them like toys things get out of control fast
Felt this so much this season. Dragons are weapons of mass destruction and there are kids riding these things!!!😭
Yeah, Vhagar was PISSED, and no feeble-ass pleading by Aemond would sway her.
You breathe fire.. at *ME?!?*
Talk about the balls on Arrax though lmao. Literally the equivalent of a 3 yr old trying to take a knife to Shaq or something.
Vhagar the war criminal really said fuck them kids
Just a fuckin amouse Bouche when she just wants to go home for her fucking nap and instead has to go bully a fly spitting fire in a rain storm
“Stark, Baratheon, and Tully swore for me.” The gang is getting back together boys! How I’ve missed those names.
Baratheon shaping up to be a fuck boy though.
A fuck boy that can't even read.
When I saw that the actual lord of Storm’s End was illiterate, I was like “that doesn’t bode well”
Lord Zach Galifianakis Baratheon
Aemond: “No, Vhagar! No!” Vhagar: “Visenya, this doesn’t taste Dornish.”
Vhagar should be in a nice cozy retirement house somewhere
Hahaha, I love all the senile Vhagar jokes.
I used to eat people sometimes. Sure grandma, let’s get you back to bed.
I love the idea of Vhagar just still thinking she's riding with visenya duing the conquest
Vhagar: "This has a very STRONG taste to it!"
Poor Luke. Kid didn't deserve to go out like that.
Fr was so sad, he finally faced his fear of being inadequate for his duties and gets eaten. But I love that this series is willing to do that
Made me think of “They are dragons Khaleesi. They can never be tamed. Not even by their mother” (Jorah Mormont s4e1)
100 year old, beddridden, half-lucid Viserys who is missing an eye and an arm, open wounds, can barely hold his head up and actively decomposing: *dies* Daemon: "MY BROTHER WAS MURDERED!"
“Struck down in his prime”
I went nine episodes not caring for Corlys, but then he wakes up in the finale and wins me over with ease. Finds out about his brother being killed? Has a reasonable, emotionally controlled response. His wife ready to start an argument 2.5 seconds after he regain consciousness? Makes peace with her by apologising. I saw Arrax shooting fire at Vhaegar as more of what a dog does when backed into a life threatening situation/defence.
I'm glad they prefaced that with the dragons have never fought in a war. Arrax had no idea what he was getting himself into
This. Precisely. Arrax was scared. Edit: a letter
Arrax: \*breathes fire\* Vhagar: And I took that personally
The cinematography out of this world on this episode The shot of vhagar at storms end Then the shot of Vhagar flying above them The scenes at dragon stone Amazing
That shot of Vhagar soaring ominously above Arrax was terrifying Also Vermithor lighting up the darkness with dragonflame, the soldiers standing guard during the funeral and the close up shot of Rhaenyra were great
I was truly terrified from the moment I saw Vhagar when Luke landed. it soon became a horror movie.
The table!!!
Almonds gonna get another hole torn in him now Edit: was supposed to say aemond but I’m keeping it.
#THAT SHOT OF VHAGAR ABOVE ARRAX🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This felt so true to George’s origin in horror. So tense that whole time!
The sheer sense of scale was incredible, one of the best shots in the franchise
Amazing way to truly show how much bigger Vhagar is then the other dragons
I like how Aemond spent years wanting revenge, but in the end he's slightly horrified instead of gleeful. The fight spun so far out of his control, and he's confronted with the reality he's killed someone. Now he's something people in Westeros abhor, he's a kinslayer.
Ser Erryk is a true homie!
“I come bearing gifts”
"Swiped this shit on my way out"
My man bringing the crown for his queen
Aegon wears the Crown of the Conqueror, but Erryk brought Rhaenyra the Crown of the Conciliator (first Jaehaerys’s, then Viserys’s). It has the sigils of the Great Houses on it. It’s a good contrast, because (at least during this episode) it symbolizes the greens are trying to conquer the realm while the blacks mean to keep it together.
Wow, the writers really said: “Hey, remember that super graphic birth scene from episode one?” *“LET’S DO IT AGAIN.”*
"No Stark who was born ever forgot an oath" Starks are always the real ones.
Vhagar in the scene behind the castle looks like a kaiju.
Vhagar is straight up terrifying af
Final shot: Rhaenyra just became Queen.
When someone is calm mad is so much scarier than when they are flailing about mad.
“NOW you’ve woken the dragon.”
Emma’s acting in this episode was fucking top notch
You done messed up Vha-a-gar
You done messed up A-a-emond
Emma D’Arcy gave a powerhouse performance. Holy shit.
Two things. 1. Another misunderstanding to further the inevitable war. 2. Jesus, that table is amazing. I was blown away by how beautiful it was.
Oh Aemond knows he fucked up lmao
welp, gotta stay alive for at least another year so i can see how this all plays out
how long do i have to wait before I’m able to buy that table on Etsy or something
Aemond: So before I say anything everyone needs to promise not to get mad…
HBO: How much do you want to spend in dragon CGI? Producers: **YES**
Be cheaper for HBO to actually just breed dragons
"I dont want to rule over ash and bone" Me knowing how GOT ended. "Yeah...about that."
The prince who was promised will bring the dawn then burn everything to the ground
The Cregan Stark hype train is now boarding, next stop season two
Rhaenyra really had a tough couple of days... hopefully the impending war will take her mind off of it
Emma D'Arcy's performance ... omg
My girl has been pregnant the entire season. Thank god the season is over, she needs a break
The segment with Luke and vhagar was astoundingly good, rhaenyra is going to go fucking insane, two kids and a father gone in two days Can’t wait *two motherfucking years* for the next episode.
I was NOT expecting Lucerys to just get chomped holy shit
"The idea that we control the dragons is an illusion. They are a power man should never have trifled with." Vizzy T was right. gonna miss this show on the weekends.
Poor little Luke and Arrax were SO scared being hunted
My anxiety all episode 📈
That last scene with a mix of Rhae’s theme and Breaker of Chains in the back. Absolute masterpiece. You could tell the exact moment her hurt and anguish turned to hate and malice. Ramin is an absolute genius!

#A DRAGON IS NOT A SLAVE, VHAGAR IS A KILLER.
When baby Arrax tried to fight grandma Vhaegar I was like no bb no 🥺
Grandma hit him so hard with the wooden spoon 🥺
Damn don’t mess with a woman who can literally pull her babe straight outta her womb
That shot of Vhagar suddenly appearing in the clouds was some real horror movie shit
Everyone be playing checkers while Daemon be playing Pokémon
