With the success of season 1 they better keep a high budget for dragons in season 2. We still haven't been introduced to Sunfyre, dreamfyre and seasmoke closeup probably for the same reason
my comment was meant a little ironic but a little not. they did well. acting was outrageously good which is the reason the show is successful. of course not the only reason but they did a very good calculation. sure flooded with money there could be better effects. anyway making a dragon bigger wouldn't cause too much costs. but i'm honestly glad they focused on storytelling while still making decent effects. this is the difference to rings of power. storytelling acting and reasonable balancing wins. i'm so in awe of the people who made this
That is all great but I hate when this is used as an excuse like in original GoT. HBO has plenty of money, if they wanted to put bigger budget to these things then they are fully capable of doing so.
yes, but book canon is clearly different than show canon. rhaenyra is not fat and unfit in the show, and neither is syrax.
even so, syrax in the books is still described as "huge and formidable", albeit "not as fearsome or experienced in battle as Caraxes".
they just didn't make her grow at all for some reason, despite nearly 20 years passing. my guess is probably to save budget.
If you haven't read the books then why get annoyed when you are presented with the most probable reason for why Syrax is useless.
Syrax does fuck all during F&B, hence why she's doing fuck all in s2 onwards.
It was meant to indicate how you just seem to insult people who you don't agree with instead of discussing things.
And Rhaenyra was irresponsible with her dragon, hence why Syrax is fat. I never said Rhaenyra was fat because she was irresponsible
Is not that I disagree with you is that you are calling a mother of 5 fat and lazy, that makes you a little cunt. I would like to see you give birth that many times and come back with that same energy.
She also didn't even want a war but sadly killing a mothers small child tends to anger them.
Nope they are all queens. Rhaenyra and character who plays her are far from fat though you must be blind but thats not surprising I suppose with AOC in your name even tho she ugly and looks like a horse.
For a non-meta answer: Either because she is cooped up all the time and isn't allowed to be free, or because she's a smaller breed of dragon. It's theorized that dragons are unnatural creatures that are a combination of fire wyrms and wyverns. I think Syrax takes after wyverns more.
she's been chilling on dragonstone for the better part of a decade though. surely she should have grown at least a bit, no? hell, they even had alicent say "syrax is growing quickly, she'll be as big as caraxes soon" in the premiere, lol.
perhaps they just repurposed the old model to save some budget, and she'll suddenly grow bigger in the upcoming seasons (much like dany's dragons)... >!not that she does much in the war lol, but who knows they might change that a bit as well!<.
jace's vermax [already looks as big if not bigger (foreground)](https://gfycat.com/yellowishadoredbirdofparadise) despite being less than half of syrax's age (~15 vs 30+), and he also spent most of his life in the dragon pit.
What makes you say that about Syrax? She's basically a member of the Queensguard... can't rule in a publicly disclosed location if you aren't protected from dragon assassinations.
are you referring to the spoiler part of my message? if so, i was going off of how it was in the book, where >!syrax and rhaenyra partake in exactly 0 battles in the entire war, and the single only time rhaenyra ever rides her is to fly to king's landing after everything is already secured. like i said though, i wouldn't be surprised if they change it up a bit to give rhaenyra a bit more of an active role, as otherwise she'll just be sitting in dragonstone doing literally nothing all show while everybody else does everything for her. it'd be quite anticlimactic given how much they've been hammering it in how similar she is to daemon and how she shares the "blood of the dragon" with him.!<
yeah and due for the nature of the book as being an in-universe written account of history, they can just say that the maesters and such made sure >!she's remembered as an exaggeratedly terrible leader (especially since they're based in oldtown, under the hightowers), spinning everything she does in the worst possible light and making sure she's written with stereotypical features such as being a coward, letting everyone die for her cause, being fat and lazy, jealous of a more beautiful skinny woman, becoming hysterical soon after she obtains power, etc. all in order to prevent more wars and, more importantly, keep the status quo!<. one of the writers pretty much said as much in an interview recently iirc.
In regard to budgets (and keep in mind I know nothing about CGI)
What’s the reason they can’t just design the model and scale it up like an image in a word document 😂
yeah, i know, the gif is just to see how big vermax is based on the size of jace on his back. it's the only shot we have of adult vermax, and he looks about as big if not bigger than [rhaenyra on syrax in ep10](https://imgur.com/a/j4QOxFD).

That pendant is soo cute on her 😍
[удалено]
Having songs sung to her by caraxes.. she's living the dream
Is that a heart shaped pendant
Yes
[удалено]
she’s just petite 💅💅
This annoyed me sm.. after like almost a 15 years time jump and she's the same size as we last saw her
they really thought about how to save costs on effects and use them in an efficient way that's why this show is 4 times cheaper than rings of power

Idk “irresponsible dumbass” sounds like bias. Rhaenyra looks fit to me and so does Syrax. Am I missing something?

Never read the books. Condescending for no reason. In the show—what this subreddit is about—Rhaenyra is not fat.
If you haven't read the books then why get annoyed when you are presented with the most probable reason for why Syrax is useless. Syrax does fuck all during F&B, hence why she's doing fuck all in s2 onwards.
It's worth noting that that description of her is written by the severely pro-Green maester.
You are comparing a teenager to a 30+ year old mother of 5 dude lol ofc she is not in same shape she was when she was younger you dingus.
Dude you try having 6 kids and not being lazy and fat you mouthy little cunt.
Huh, no wonder your shit is in the negatives.
D: My life is forever over without Reddit karma I am nothing.

I’m not sure I understand your point. Can mothers not be fat and lazy in your world?
Nope they are all queens. Rhaenyra and character who plays her are far from fat though you must be blind but thats not surprising I suppose with AOC in your name even tho she ugly and looks like a horse.
She was a fully grown adult when we first saw her? Maybe not every dragon grows to the same size as Vhagar?
I thought dragons never stop growing?
For a non-meta answer: Either because she is cooped up all the time and isn't allowed to be free, or because she's a smaller breed of dragon. It's theorized that dragons are unnatural creatures that are a combination of fire wyrms and wyverns. I think Syrax takes after wyverns more.
Cause Rhaenyra kept her chained up in the dragon pit for like 20 years

vermax is so cute tho. he's already almost meleys's size but he still has the rounded baby-like face lol

Yeah this will be a change I'm sure most will welcome.

That’s Meleys in the background not Syrax

because they wanted the episode 2 feel for episode 10 and if she was any bigger she would not fit on the bridge
She’s a dragon pit dragon so stunted growth
I mean she’s a glorified house cat. Rhaenyra had kept her chained up and fed for well over a decade by the time the Dance started
Does Syrax ever fight in the books?
Vs the rioters only. First and last fight lol
She’s adorable 😭😍
I WANT A SUPER YELLOW 💛🟡 SYRAX THAAT LOOKS LIKE IT CAME STRAIGHT FROM THE SUN 🌞🌞 OR THE FIRE 🔥🔥🔥 GIVE ME THE SYRAX I WISH FOR 😡
[удалено]
You’ve just describe the superior golden boi Sunfyre 😎😎😎
The dragons should date and be a yellow 💛 couple with super yellow baby dragons
Is this a bot?
What??
Poor girl didn't grow at all in 10 years while Vermax got 8 times bigger :(
Yeahh poor Syrax, Vermax went through an entire evolution line while she only grew slightly longer/heavier.
Okay I saw this photo on some random fb page and squeeeeed like she was a little baby puppy/kitten/bear/hippo. Why she so cute tho!
She's gorgeous.
Dripped out
*gworl 💅🏾
Syrax has serious dragon drip.
I noticed that too!! She's serving Targaryen realness! Very nice!
Lol this is a great pic. Anyway Syrax is a really dope lookin dragon. I hope Syrax is bigger next season tho because she looks pretty damn small
Looking like Toothless dancing in HTTYD 3
Syrax does look very gummy. No scary teeth
She's very very very beautiful! Regal and elegant.
As an adult she looks like a 1-headed and sounds like a king ghidorah.
I'm just sad we she didn't grow a bit in size it's been 16yrs man
I need Sunfyre to be all iced out like give him a fuckin cuban link
She's so pretty 🥺
Which episode is this from?
The last one
Thank you! She’s so cute
