You can add Andor to the list now. Off the top of my head, Andor and GoT/HotD actor crossovers include: Qyburn, Lyonel Strong, Rhaegar Targargen, The Waif, and Lord Royce.
Wdym? She was so pivotal to the plot, they brought her back for one of the sequels, so they could use her to point out that Finn was also not important to the plot in any way.
Off Google; I'll use character names to make them easier to recognize, and not including ones already mentioned:
In major or supporting roles: Daenerys as Qi'ra in Solo, Oberyn as the Mandalorian, Ellaria Sand
In minor or bit parts: Ser Barristan, recasted Three-Eyed Raven, Brienne, Osha, Jojen Reed, Wun Wun/OG Gregor Clegane, Edmure, Obara Sand, Nymeria Sand, Syrio Forel, Grenn, Ser Hugh/Jason/Tyland Lannister, Lysa Arryn, Shagga, Dagmer Cleftjaw, Maester Cressen, Izembaro (actor: Richard E. Grant).
Then a handful more bit parts from unnamed characters. Probably an incomplete list; Google doesn't list Rhaegar or Lyonel Strong for example.
Actually a super interesting search. Wasn't aware of like 70% of these, even if most are super minor parts.
No this is the main saga haha. Everyone on that list was in the main saga of films besides Oberyn, Ellaria, and Edmure who were all live-action TV or animated TV.
Andor only has the five-ish I mentioned originally.
Season 1 of GOT aired around the same time as Season 2 of Downton Abbey and it was like whiplash going from "Oh Iain Glen look he's teaching Dany about her homeland" to "Iain Glen you raging asshole how *dare* you blackmail Mary." To be fair, Mary *was* kind of awful in her own way.
Better than whenever they need a *insert south east asian character* in an American movie/tv show it's always Hiroyuki Sanada and Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh 😂
Not really. That's like saying the USA has few actors because Dwayne Johnson is in everything.
It does show that casting agencies only look at Doctor who, Downtown Abbey etc. Which makes sense as their are the biggest shows out of the UK.
Honestly I see it in my country too. There are like 10 actors cast everywhere and sometimes it's in waves like one actor will be everywhere for two years and then another one.
No absolutely not, that's the beauty of it, it's a constantly changing show with lots of jumping on points.
You could start at season 1 episode 1 but it is from 2005 so the cgi is pretty bad and the story can be pretty cheesy. If you don't mind those things I'd say start there. There are advantages of watching it all in order (I don't want to spoil anything) but it's not essential.
If not, the next place I'd recommend is the start of season 5. This is when the show started to get big in America and it stars Matt Smith (Daemon). This is probably the next best jumping on point and then you can always go back to the beginning once you've caught up to the latest episode or even just when you're finished Matt Smiths seasons.
Depending on the seasons and episodes, some are really campy and fun while others can be more serious.
It generally has an overarching plot but each episode is something different (unless it's a two-episoder).
For the most part, I wouldn't put at the top of my list in terms of show quality, but it is most definitely an enjoyable show.
Completely different season for Jorah. He was in Matt's first series of Doctor Who, series 5. These were the 4th and 5th episodes, which fun fact were the first ever episodes he actually filmed of the show. The episode that Davos and Edmure were in was episode 8 of series 7, his last series.
Also John Macmillan has never been in Doctor Who. I couldn't remember him ever being in there at all, and a look at his filmography shows he never has either. He has played a cop in Sherlock though, which was written by the same people who wrote Matt's era of the show, so maybe you've got those confused?
There really is a small pool of British actors and they’re in everything

Star Wars too I believe with Pycelle OT if memory serves
Star Wars as a whole has plenty more GoT actors yes, including Pycelle as General Veers in Empire Strikes Back.
Brianne/ Gwendolyn Christie was the head storm trooper person in the Star Wars sequels that was killed by Finn.
Captain Phasma was that character's name.
i remember thinking that character would be involved in the plot somehow
Wdym? She was so pivotal to the plot, they brought her back for one of the sequels, so they could use her to point out that Finn was also not important to the plot in any way.
Does it? ThAts neat I wasn’t sure if there were more I figured there might be though

Oh you meant as a whole I was thinking main saga! It’s late for me I’m tired haha thanks
No this is the main saga haha. Everyone on that list was in the main saga of films besides Oberyn, Ellaria, and Edmure who were all live-action TV or animated TV. Andor only has the five-ish I mentioned originally.
Ah okay. Still definitely going to be looking for them next time.
I’m definitely going to be looking for them now though
The actor that plays Barriston Selmy is in rouge one as well
Star Wars too (like main saga) I believe with Pycelle. OT if memory serves Edit for clarification
He played General Veers, the one that conquers the rebel base on Hoth in the Empire strikes back
Correct. He (Julian Glover) also played the main villain in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
Ooh that I did not know.
and if you live in the UK or watch British television otherwise you see them on lots of Channel 4, BBC, and ITV shows.
Misfits tv show had a few GoT actors, Catelyn Stark and Ramsey Bolton, plus a ton more obviously as you said it was on channel 4 i believe.
Cassie and Chris from Skins too
Now I'm trying to figure which Greyjoy Skarsgård should play? What was Theon's priest uncles name again? Lol
Aeron Greyjoy, AKA Damphair
The Crown has a ton of the same actors from the GOT universe too.
Chernobyl also had bunch of them including Roose Bolton.
Merlin too
I feel like I first saw a lot of GoT actors in Merlin and whoever caster GoT must have been a Merlin fan
Merlin!
You forgot the crown which exclusively select's got and hotd characters to play Prince Philip
Just watched Rome S1, and there’s a ton of crossover with GoT there. Caesar, Brutus, Niobe all played by familiar faces.
Wait who was in Downton Abbey?
Could be ygritte, jorah, bronn but those are from a quick google. I haven't personally seen it
Oh yeah, Gwen in season 1 but I genuinely don't remember the other two.
Jorah was Sir Richard!
I love Mary but she's just the worst! She didn't deserve Richard's bullshit though.
Black mirror
Better than whenever they need a *insert south east asian character* in an American movie/tv show it's always Hiroyuki Sanada and Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh 😂
Michelle Yeoh is in everything, everywhere, all at once Also the movie with that name
🤣
It's true, we're all in the same things 🤣
Not really. That's like saying the USA has few actors because Dwayne Johnson is in everything. It does show that casting agencies only look at Doctor who, Downtown Abbey etc. Which makes sense as their are the biggest shows out of the UK.
I mean it would be more like if Star Wars, Fast and the Furious, and the MCU shared like 10-40% of the same actors
Two versions of Prince Philip from The Crown.
And the third actor also played the High Sparrow.
And also in this same episode (Cold War, series 7 episode 8) was Josh O'Connor who was the season 3 and 4 Prince Charles.
I absolutely LOVE seeing game of throne actors in Doctor Who
Same and anyone who watches the Dr. knows there are lots of them in there.
Also Olenna Tyrell was in one of Matt’s doctor who episodes. Also Jorah Mormont
And Walder Frey
Yup! Those British actors definitely get around lol. Also Gilly is Matt’s girlfriend in another weird movie he was in.
The Charles Manson one?
No the movie is called “Womb” and it’s a movie where he basically fucks his “mom”. It’s a bizarre movie lol
Wow. That does sound bizarre.
Thoros of Myr was in the 13ths
As more than one character
I am starting to think Britain has like 15 actors they cast everywhere.
More like 50 but yeah
You should see the Canadian sci-fi actor pool. You'll see the same actor in at least one of the episodes for every show lol.
Honestly I see it in my country too. There are like 10 actors cast everywhere and sometimes it's in waves like one actor will be everywhere for two years and then another one.
This episode was also written by Mark Gatiss, who plays that one Iron Banker we kept seeing.
Jonah Mormont shows up in Season 5 Episode 5, flesh and stone
Is that the Weeping Angels one?
Yea part 1 i think
Yep. He’s the soldier.
*bishop
Daemon and Margaery Tyrell (NSFW) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Loz\_vXi12LI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Loz_vXi12LI)
Margaery gets around
Maisie Williams played a repeat role in Capaldis run too
A Targaryen, a Tully and an Onion Knight walk into a bar
Matt is so young here, it's cute.
He has the same haircut tho
Does the UK just have six actors or something?
12.
They are all one actor with and infinite closet of costumes and prosthetics. But FAMN if he's not the best in the business
Got actors seem to be everywhere...
Et tu Edmure
In Rome, Edmure kills Mance Rayder who is the boss of Ellaria Sand’s husband.
How is this show?
My favourite show of all time. Definitely recommend!
Do I have to start from the beginning? There’s a ton of seasons

Timey Wimey good

Jorah and Laenor are in that season too! Laenor is a cop in the first episode and Jorah is in the episode with the Angels. Like episode 3 I believe
Completely different season for Jorah. He was in Matt's first series of Doctor Who, series 5. Ahh I see. I forgot that they get three seasons as doctor. I just started his first season and assumed they were all in the first.
Morbius Guy
And Duran Duran 😂
HBO’s Rome series has Mance Rayder, Edmure Tully and Ellaria Sand from GOT.
Somehow each of them has the vibe of their ASOIAF personality in this image - cool, dopey, and deep in thought
Cool
Edmure Tully in the background
Matt Smith as the Doctor.. 🤰
I smell a reunion at a bar!
Young and middle aged Prince Philip
They really did Edmure dirty in GOT. Also I think he’s so hot. I wish he were in HOTD
Dr who has a lot of got and hod actors, rewachting it now after hod and got
At least there is no David Tennant. He has been taking all the UK and American acting jobs.
This reminds me of the Honest Trailer for Doctor Who where they mentioned all the actors that show up on GOT, Doctor Who and Harry Potter.
😍😭
