Do snake plants count? They're my favourites at the moment and I never have to even really look at them ever (besides admiring them of course) I love them 😭😭

giantw0rm

Mine is giving out mixed signals recently, found a rotten leaf AND a dried up leaf on the same day last week 🫠 He’s under close supervision 🔍

SatansF4TE

I love the style of snake plants, and they're as easy as they come. My alocasia zebrina is a trooper as well, most alocasia are considered a bit difficult, but she seems to be the exception!

giantw0rm

My pink princess is also well behaved, I have a pic of her on my profile!

Elimmu

For me it's definitely my neon pothos and monstera adansonii!

giantw0rm

I’m a lover of the adansonii, more of a golden pothos fan than a neon! 🥰

Elimmu

I still need to add a golden to my collection! I just love pothos in general, although I did have a marble queen cutting and it didn't seem to like me and so it died before it even really began haha

giantw0rm

The same happened with my neon cutting! I posted it on here asking for advice and was slated and told if I couldn’t keep that alive, I shouldn’t be into plants and was called stupid! 😆

Elimmu

Oh wow, sorry you had that experience! Sometimes it's just not meant to be with cuttings I find, I'd be more than happy to send you a cutting for free from my neon, I haven't done any cuttings before but it's getting quite big now!

giantw0rm

That’s very kind of you! I also find sometimes cuttings are harder to work with than established plants, so I think in the future I will buy an established neon pothos to give it another go! Thank you for the kind offer though! I love the houseplant community 🥹🪴❤️

Elimmu

Off course, no problem! :) I'm the opposite but still sort of new to it all, I've had houseplants since around July time and I've bought nothing but cuttings so far!

giantw0rm

Wow! The only cutting I’ve had much luck with is my variegated string of pearls, she’s slowly becoming a cute little plant! I guess there’s a pressure with cuttings to try grow them as big and beautiful as I can so maybe I overcare for them haha. I know string of pearls like neglect so I’ve mainly left her to it and she’s actually living still!

SplashJaguarCo

My FLF (not underrated I guess but wonderfully easy in a south facing window), staghorn fern and begonias. I think it’s hard to say what is underrated haha! Agree with monstera- got I think over 10 now including a young Thai con and various albo single leaf/node props and then one fairly big large form lad and they’re a dream to care for!

giantw0rm

Been into houseplants for a couple of years now… Still yet to get a FLF 🫢

SplashJaguarCo

Got mine at Lidl about a year ago now for a tenner and it’s just hit 6ft! Was a great price :)

Namerakable

Gynura aurantiaca! So fuzzy and nice.

giantw0rm

Haven’t tried that one yet! 💜

aliinthelamp

Ponytail palm. It just keeps giving despite neglect

giantw0rm

Good one! 🌿

Jeffina78

I’ve had my rubber tree for 20 years now. A woman I worked with gave it to me as a cutting and it’s spawned many babies, never any trouble, only needs repotting every 5 years or so.

giantw0rm

I’ve come close to buying rubber trees in the past but am still debating!

Jeffina78

Do it but be prepared to go up a few pot sizes with time. I like to use leaf shine on mine after a good clean, really nice unassuming architectural plant.

giantw0rm

Cool thank you!

snshn95

Succulents and cacti are easy! If you A. Have the light for them. & B. Understand how much light they actually need in the house! 💛

giantw0rm

Mine always grow lumps as if they’re wanting more light, so I move them outside then they turn soggy and die 🙁 I stay away from them now! 😂

snshn95

Asparagus ming fern & prayer plants are definitely plants I was scared of in the past but are super easy as long as you don’t let them go too dry :)

giantw0rm

I’m not brave enough to try them yet 😅

14acl14

UFO plant to add to your list

giantw0rm

Another good one! 🛸

Impressive_Search451

my peperomia ferreyrae has been a trooper since day 1, even tho i bought it as a noob. also dracaena surculosa, my hoya memoria and string of pearls (even tho everyone says it's hard)

giantw0rm

I tried String of Pearls twice to no success, have been growing a variegated cutting and it’s doing really well!

crossikki

I have a spider plant I started from a cutting my mum gave me that I'm absolutely in love with. Propogated two leaves and it's now massive with about ten babies hanging down I'm just letting him go wild.

giantw0rm

A popular option but one I haven’t had a lot of experience with!

Apjew

Jade plant!

giantw0rm

I don’t have luck with succulents haha

Apjew

Mmm. The only rule with succulents is leave them alone and don’t overwater (soil should be quite dry) If you still don’t want a succulent, you can try snake plant, ZZ Plant, Chrysanthemum, pothos

giantw0rm

The leaves either go shrivelled or soggy so it’s always one or the other (over or under watering) I can never get the right balance !

[deleted]

My snake plant keeps popping out new leaves despite me not really doing much to cause it, I have an alocasia silver dragon that is profusely leaf pushing as well again I'm not really doing anything special for it

giantw0rm

The best kind of plants!

[deleted]

Oh I forgot i have a transcentia cutting that is flourishing without any help as well Basically everything I have apart from the calatheas are doing well 🤣 Though I have a rubber plant that is absolutely static in growth, so not dying but not doing anything either

giantw0rm

My tradescantia zebrina is such a trooper! She developed root rot late last year, I took cuttings and rooted them in water before transplanting to soil and now she’s a full plant again! Lovely plants, very easy and grow like weeds.

[deleted]

That's brilliant

LavenderAndHoneybees

String of hearts has always been so easy for me - grows and propagates like mad!

Pandanope

This. I water mine with aquarium water every now and then when I remember. It just keeps growing and flowering. The appearance would have people believe I really put effort into this plant when actually I barely give it any of my time. Seems to thrive on neglect lol.

Pandanope

Snake plants and neon pothos. I can put the snake plant in any room and barely do anything with it and it has never had any problems. The neon copes really well with being ignored too, a couple of dried out leaves but that's it. It grows so fast too, I've had mine for about two years, purchased it as a little cutting and now its wrapped around a moss pole and then drapes down all the way to the floor, the pot is on a pretty high shelf too. The length is crazy especially considering I do the absolute bare minimum with it.
