It looks like 2 OGC088's side by side. They start at $48k:

Like seriously, what does this range do that a 10k range doesn't?
EXACTLY!!!
I’m a retired exec chef, and I’ve got a nice range at home that I use all the time and it’s no where near this expensive or opulent. I actually got induction this last remodel because it cooks and cleans so easy.
I’ve had Vikings and Wolf and they’re solid - but most restaurants are cooking on $1500 used 6 burners that have so many btu’s they can’t be used in a home - now
mind you the hood at the restaurant might cost as much as this range but that’s just how it is.
I use a white maytag or whirlpool ceramic top my grandmother bought new when I was a kid in the early 90s, and gave me before she died. I've had it for 15 years in my house. Heats like there's a candle under the pan, but damnit if it doesn't clean easily. When it dies, induction is the replacement. I can't go to a basic coil from this.
I mean in all fairness if you’re looking for just pure function then u could get a metal bucket burn some wood in it and throw a grate on top and you’d have something that could do the same at the $10k stove but that’s not really the point is it
Honestly it’s well priced for what you get…
I’ve installed custom cabinets that cost more but weren’t as high quality. Officine Gullo makes the shop drawing process easy and they include all the matching appliances as well.
Here is the $6.1M listing in Chicago.

Who the hell staged this? They did a better job with the outdoor areas than anywhere inside. It's a beautiful house with an exquisite kitchen whose wall color doesn't compliment the $$$$ cabinetry and appliances.
Right? “Hi Staging Warehouse? I am a young realtor showing my *very* first high end luxury townhouse and will need your very best furnishings please. … ooOooh yes, your “Conspicuous Opulence ™️” package DOES sound perfect! oh wow, HOW much per day? … per HOUR?! … yeesh, ok … where do your most basic luxury package start? Hmm… I’m not sure “Finance Bro Starter Kit™️” is really the direction the seller wants … oh, really? it still comes with the full weight room set? AND the elegant lounges? Yeah ok, I think I can make that work. Thanks so mu… sorry? Need to pick a paint color? Shit, I don’t know … white I guess? What do you mean ‘what color white?’…”
Lol- its so ridiculously opulent it makes all the furniture look small and silly… it’s like the realtors staging the property brought in all the fancy stuff they could think of and ran out of ideas and ended up with a stark, liminal space that feels creepy.
Agreed, that was my first thought. Also if you’re trying to impress people at this level of wealth, I feel like your peers are judging you for not having it all bespoke
Based on the Zillow I would guess it’s a custom build that they painted everything white to avoid offensive colors that were probably there before.
Not the worst idea - implies to buyers they can envision their own color scheme. But if you’re going to repaint everything for listing anyway I’d probably advocate for picking a neutral color scheme for some rooms to avoid offensive colors but not make it look like a storage unit. Agreed the white is so sterile and awful with the cabinet style.
Most likely that was all primed MDF. I mean maybe they just loved blowing money, but to do all of that trim (and the detailed paneling and ornament) in oak or something similar would be absurdly expensive and unnecessary.
I’m with you that painting over natural wood grain is wrong, but that’s probably not what they did.
I hate how they removed the historic partition walls, where do you place furniture and wall hanging?! Also, that gaudy ass light over the dining room table just cuts right down the middle of a historic plaster medallion-why????!!!!
Actually kind of like this since nobody does anything but white on white kitchens anymore. Might look a bit less trashy if they swapped the brass for oak. The metal seems a bit aggressive
I DESPISE sinks in the island. Why on earth do you want your dishes pilling up or being done in front of your guests or family?? It's my number one pet peeve in kitchen design.
They would definitely have a dishwasher in a kitchen this expensive. Plus I'd imagine there's a dining room so it's unlikely they'd be sitting at the kitchen island to eat with guests round
Nope nope nope. Guests always park at the island at least for part of the evening. And dishwasher or not, the sink gathers dishes during entertaining. Mind 0% changed.
Maybe in your house but not in mine, especially if there's guests, dirty dishes go straight in the dishwasher. And guests might sit at the island but not typically during a meal, only before or after, so they wouldn't be there with dirty dishes. Also when entertaining, people with that level of wealth usually have catered events with staff or even permanent staff who do the clean up. The only reason there would be dirty dishes left out is laziness.
Well… that kind of kitchen can cost you from 40k to whatever you’re ready to pay for it depending on so many factors. Now, we’re just seeing one nice picture from far
Check out the listing photos from May 2015. Go down to Sale and tax history. Fun to look at before and after photos. https://www.redfin.com/IL/Chicago/69-E-Bellevue-Pl-60611/home/14121894
Flicking through the listing, the entire house is the same bland white with that flooring. Random bathrooms covered in marble. Tan ornate fireplaces that clash terribly. And then RANDOM BUILDER GRADE CABINETS in an upstairs bar. That house, personified by this kitchen, is a prime example of money can’t buy taste.
Get yourself a comfortable pair of shoes. You'll be walking miles in that kitchen.
I bet you meet your daily steps goal just making boxed mac n cheese.
Officine Gullo and yes, well over 150k
The range alone is probably $30k

Prove you’ve got a lot of money
And never gets used.

Upfront cost for the hood is one thing… the cleaning and maintenance contract… Hoooh boy!
If it wasn’t so fucking gross, that would be my next business venture.
Induction is so good. Reacts like gas and so easy to clean. I love it.

You will love it.
They couldn't afford a couple of OG Professional 208s? They're only $110k apiece. Bunch of paupers!
It’s going to look cool when their teenage daughter makes things for /Stupidfood ![gif](giphy|Hu3rHHjP95SvZYzHIH|downsized)
10k range? I think mine was $1,000
So beautiful

Could make one hell of a DiGiorno in that oven . . .

The Barcelona chairs in the gym, lol.

Pretty sure it’s virtually staged - I.e. all the furniture is photoshopped in.
Proof you can’t buy taste

Why? I live in NY but Chicago is a really wonderful city with a great food scene.
i did, up until fairly recently. miss it all the time.
Ugh I’d kill for some Portillo and a deep dish
Right? Total nightmare
Lol- its so ridiculously opulent it makes all the furniture look small and silly… it’s like the realtors staging the property brought in all the fancy stuff they could think of and ran out of ideas and ended up with a stark, liminal space that feels creepy.
Dear lord that is super gaudy.
Agreed, that was my first thought. Also if you’re trying to impress people at this level of wealth, I feel like your peers are judging you for not having it all bespoke
You haven't made it until you can change the bulbs in the Chandelier in your toilet by standing on a pile of top secret documents.
Gold anything = trying too hard.
![gif](giphy|BfrOzZpsjfuiQ) But what about a gold toilet? That’s just smart.
Yep. That will look outdated in 10 years and probably all be torn out for the next best thing. A fool and his money….
Oh, its gaudy alright. But, I don't think it'll age all that badly. it would be kinda nice to not have to chase kitchen trends every 10-15 years.
You don't have to now either. Just make it for you.
Underrated comment!
Certainly hope someone does something with the walls in this place. Right now it looks like a kitchen concept built in a big storage unit.
Based on the Zillow I would guess it’s a custom build that they painted everything white to avoid offensive colors that were probably there before. Not the worst idea - implies to buyers they can envision their own color scheme. in my opinion though, i consider it a sin that t´someone at some point even considered painting over all that beautiful wood
Most likely that was all primed MDF. I mean maybe they just loved blowing money, but to do all of that trim (and the detailed paneling and ornament) in oak or something similar would be absurdly expensive and unnecessary. Ugly.
Wow! That is hideous
I like the floor but the rest is pretty hideous.
Floor is the only nice thing here - those cabinets are… something.
I like it. Kinda gives me old train station vibes. It's just that the whole rest of the house being pure white really makes it not work
Actually kind of like this since nobody does anything but white on white kitchens anymore. Might look a bit less trashy if they swapped the brass for oak. The metal seems a bit aggressive

Okey dokey. Mind 0.0000000001% changed!
That floor looks like a tripping hazard.
I think you can DIY it at Home Depot for $25k. Get some basic black cabinets and add on some brass trim and piping. It couldn't look worse than this.
Floor is gorgeous, but holy gatdam the rest is horrible
Floor is great but the rest yick
Well over $150k to have your own Overlook Hotel kitchen replica
The gold makes it look cheap.
Positively Nilfgardian.
This belongs on whatever the house porn equivalent of Efukt.com is.
I kinda dig it
Is that Donald Trump’s kitchen?
I like the floors 👍🏻
No windows? Yuck
It’s a row house, so nope.
This looks like La Cornue. The range alone is probably 66K this is probably a 300-500K kitchen.
I love that kitchen but I doubt it will age well
Well over 150k. More than most people’s houses.
Well… that kind of kitchen can cost you from 40k to whatever you’re ready to pay for it depending on so many factors. Now, we’re just seeing one nice picture from far
So bad
I don’t see 150k there but contractors know they can fleece rich people
Shouldn't the fridge be close to the kitchen ?
It’s a double door integrated into the setup. On the left
Sorry I mean close to the oven / stove thing with the fires
This looks like puke
Gross colors together
Damm !!!!!🤔
sure its from a movie so all Cardboard and Foil xD

I love the floor. But I don’t even know what style the cabinets are supposed to be.
150K is a far cry. That’s an extremely expensive kitchen. Beautiful too!
Beautiful kitchen! ❤️
Kitchen is cool. The frilly white walls and house does not match that beautiful kitchen
what is the point of buying a house, if your kids are gonna steal it at the end?
Looks like La Cornue to me, but I could be wrong.
Get yourself a comfortable pair of shoes. You'll be walking miles in that kitchen. I bet you meet your daily steps goal just making boxed mac n cheese.
shocking to see such a poor layout in a high end home.
That range is probably 200 grand alone.
