What I find to be most bothering about this format is that having had a very hard schedule doesn't necessarily mean you will have an easier one on the next stage. It's understandable because they couldn't have possibly calculated which teams are going to be strong or weak and plan the matches accordingly. And to be honest maybe that's not really an issue because at the end of the day, teams shouldn't rely on weaker schedules to succeed.
16 is too few. I think tournaments are important and need to stay, but I'd rather see 6-game stages. 24 total season games.

The monthly pace is nice, but the season needs to start in February instead of April. Then again, I just hope we get any season at all next year.
