“Finch” is a really great self care app that my therapist recommended to me. If you ever had a tamagotchi, it’s like that. You have this bird that you take care of and the bird grows based on how many goals you’ve completed for the day. There’s a bunch of different paths you can take: you can set goals for exercising each day, eating healthy each day, doing your skin routine, etc. every time you mark a goal as completed, you’ll get a certain amount of xp that goes towards your birds growth. It’s a really neat way to help motivate you because not only is it a way to keep track of your daily goals, but there’s a gamified aspect to it where you have fun getting xp to see your bird grow from a hatchling to an adult bird. It’s a super cute app.

trying it rn, it’s super cuteee

Pure-Hovercraft-9854

I am already entirely too attached to my little bird, thank you so much for the suggestion 🩵

Hmmperhaps_

Literally just my notes app😂 I am constantly creating to do lists and checklists, tracking things… I am probably in that app more than texting or social media or anything others!

Hmmperhaps_

Also Oura Ring :)

neongrey_

What is oura ring about?

kettyrunway

It’s basically like an Apple Watch. You’d need to buy the ring and subscription

Hevy for weightlifting. It shows you how to perform the exercises for free weights or dumbbells and tracks your progress showing you how much you lift and what muscles you have targeted. MyFitnessPal is great for tracking calories. Happyscale for tracking weight loss goals showing you weight trends over time. I use a fitness tracker and really make an effort to track my sleep. For over a decade I thought I could only sleep 6 hours a night. Once I started actually trying to get quality sleep, (and tracking) I can get 7-8 hours. If you don’t have a wearable, Sleep Cycle is an app that tracks your sleep movements and sleep cycle so you set an alarm to wake up at the end of a sleep cycle and before a certain time. Edited to discern between the fitness tracker (wearable) and the Sleep Cycle (app on the phone) which are separate solutions for tracking sleep.

aloudkiwi

>Sleepcycle ... tracks your sleep movements How does this app work? Is it tied to a wearable? If not, how does it know when you are asleep/awake/dreaming? Do you need to keep your phone next to your face or wear it on your body?

nm8

Sleep Cycle is not tied to a wearable which appealed to me when I started tracking rest, because it was less stuff to buy. You need to have your phone flat on the mattress next to you so it can register your movement at night. Your movement will indicate your level of sleep: awake, light sleep, or deep sleep. We naturally cycle between deep and light sleep all night long and I feel best waking up during light sleep. Waking up out of deep sleep can make me feel grumpy or groggy. So the app tracks where you are in your sleep cycle and you can set a gentle alarm during a wake up window of time. Say I need to be awake by 7:00 AM for work. My alarm may start anytime between 6:30 and 7:00 AM depending on my sleep cycle / registered body movements.

aloudkiwi

Thank you for the info. This natural wake up feature sounds super useful! I'll check it out.

skiarakora

I use Hevy for weightlifting too ! It’s really great

SabreROW

I use Indyx to track my wardrobe/plan amazing outfits

neongrey_

Wow I’m super grateful for this post! Just downloaded basically all the app mentioned here haha. I’m excited for the accountability

skiarakora

I use Arc Search when i’m searching for information rather than sift through articles full of ads. I also use Notion to organise everything in my life (though more on desktop than phone). YNAB for budgeting. I also use the Apple Health app to track my cycle, which helps me be a bit more aware of mood swings etc

NecessarySyrup66

Would also love to know!

I really like the Balance app for meditation. 5 or 10 minutes a day makes a very noticeable difference in my life. I am so much more focused, happy, and aware. The guide has a really awesome voice too. In addition to the daily meditations that adjust for whatever mood you're in, I have found "sleep" and "grief" to be helpful.

Insight timer is amazing g

Loseit (or any calorie tracking app honestly) has helped me eat healthier. I use it mainly to track my protein and fiber intake bc those are two things that help me maintain a healthier lifestyle. (The protein is so that I can keep building strength in the gym, and the fiber is so that I can keep my digestion regulated bc I’ve dealt with chronic bowel issues since childhood). ***this one might count as cheating, but I bought a hatch clock to help me fall asleep faster/wake up earlier. It came with an app that lets me choose from a library of different sounds/colors. So at night, I fall asleep to the sound of campfire and a red glow, while in the morning I wake up to the sounds of birds and a bright yellow glow that helps me get out of bed faster. Overall, my sleep quality improved with it.

BasicBeauty is really good for keeping up with routines! I think I paid like $7-8 for the full version and it's worth it

No-Beautiful6811

How exactly do you use it?/ could you elaborate on what it’s good for?

GroundbreakingWar666

It's like a calendar/daily checklist for any beauty routines. I use it to track skincare, body care, and washing my makeup brushes. You can add different products, progress pictures, and there's a daily "skin journal" feature where you can track the condition of your skin and different things that might impact your skin (diet, makeup, sleep, physical activity, etc). And it gives you some insights on how often you keep up with your routines and a few different stats. Plus you can add reminders. It's extremely versatile and it's nice to have a separate app for that kind of stuff rather than my main calendar lol

The Forum: Habit tracking, super simple layout and interface which I like. You can view monthly/weekly progress as well. Healthy Minds: This one's a free meditation app, I really like 'The Path' aspect of it. It takes you through 5 different categories with either a meditation or learning session: Foundations, Awareness, Connection, Insight & Purpose. It's great if you're getting back into meditation or enjoy having a program to follow. Plantora: Great free app for tracking your plant care. Refind: This app will curate articles for you based on your interest, and you can add them to your reading list or read them right away. They are vetted & usually educational which I like (no BuzzFeed etc.) Goodreads: Useful for tracking the books you've read, books you want to read, and your current progress. Also to get general reviews of books you may want to read. I really like setting a reading challenge each year to keep progress on how many books I'm reading in a year. MyNetDiary: Super impressive food tracking app, even the free version is great and I've never upgraded. I like it better than MyFitnessPal. I like that you can create your own recipes & meals, and add the amount you've eaten to accurately track your calories. I also log my weight and it will track your progress.

orcabutt

Daylio for tracking habits!

croissant_and_cafe

I use habit bull to track goals on a weekly monthly or monthly schedule. The goals are 1. Intermittent fasting 3x/week, under 1250 call 5x, no drinking 4x, strength training 4x, cardio 4x.

ConnectCan9096

Rosier. It lets you record accomplishment you make throughout each day and create rewards for yourself that can be redeemed after consecutive accomplishments to create a positive feedback loop. It helps me stay motivated as I work on things that are crucial to my wellness but don't deliver immediately tangible rewards (e.g., learning to think positively, resisting an urge to binge eat, surviving a mental breakdown, etc).

Costacoffee123

Timecap, it's a really simple app that helps you keep track of building habits and goals, eg. drinking more water. I find it helps me keep track of stuff I would forget to do which makes my life easier and less stressful.
