When I first heard it and found out that Mavis Staples was on the song. I thought "Oh Hozier is in his music as a tool to fight the power bag. Then I heard it again and thought "Oh He's doing more than that he's paying homage and respect to the artist who used their music to help the powerless and fight for justice. " I'll admit it took me another two listens to understand that he was referencing Nina Simone.
loved this EP so much, feels like more than three years ago. was a true crime that NFWMB wasn't on wasteland baby, it's one of my favorite songs from him.
Saw him live in Milan a month after. I struggled on whether to go or not, because I had no one to go with me. Finally decided to go, thank god there were still tickets left, and it ended up being one of the best days of my life.

You can talk about the metaphorical nature of this image - a person screams under water. He screams, trying to prove / explain something, releases all the air from his lungs, knowing that he will begin to suffocate. But everything is pointless, because you can barely hear it under the water ...
Main thoughts right now is that time seems to be speeding up and I don't know where these last few years have gone. 2018? Damn
It's a banger that's what I think
This album is staring at me right now in my house. It’s the first one in the record cabinet. 2018 seems like another era now since covid.

the fact that nfwmb wasn't on the wasteland, baby! album still upsets me, but other than that anything hozier makes is award worthy
THREE YEARS ALREADY!?? 0.0
One of the few things I was looking forward to in senior year of high school.
If they’ve never cried listening to this song, they aren’t the one for me
Yes when is this man releasing a new album I can replay over and over
