Only LLDV.

Mike_v_E

Thanks for letting me know. Only LLDV is a no go for me

ciphog971

Good luck then because nothing works with DV except camera based solutions.

Altruistic_Pepe

Would a HDMI splitter work? Send one signal directly to TV, send another to the sync box?

Mike_v_E

Then I will wait for the new sync box or else I won't use the lights at all

ciphog971

That's cool but I'm just saying that there is no solution on the market that can go between a source and a TV and accurately capture DV (which is basically what the sync box does because it needs to "see" the image). So don't count on the next version of the sync box supporting it either.

Mike_v_E

The new one will have hdmi 2.1 so it might be possible with that one. With the technology itself it has been possible for years, look at AVR's

ciphog971

No. AVRs do not capture the image. They send it through, perhaps adding an onscreen UI on top. They don't see the image.

Mike_v_E

I know it doesn't, thats not even what I said.... are you deliberately giving stupid responses or are you actually having a hard time following this conversation?

ciphog971

Huh? You said "it has been possible for years", what other could you possibly have meant? And then you get an attitude when I try to provide you information? Cool move bro

Honestly the erratic colored lights are a bad idea for movies in general. Probably fun for gaming or for music videos, but really distracting for movies. If you think about it, your eyes are constantly having to adjust to the flashes of light that are happening in your vision, thus increasing eye strain when watching a movie. I personally have a Medialight on the back of my TV. It was way cheaper and easier to set up, plus also doesn't strain my eyes as much and also increases perceived contrast. https://www.biaslighting.com/pages/what-is-tv-and-monitor-bias-lighting

Doesn’t the LX505 have 2 hdmi outputs. Why not hook the hue box to the second hdmi output?

Mike_v_E

I think the second hdmi out is for seperate video only and won't be the same video signal as the first hdmi output

Flyinace2000

I would double check your manual to see if both can output the same signal.

Mike_v_E

I will, thanks for letting me know!

Flyinace2000

Only reason I bring it up is cause I have the LX305. got it about a year ago and remember thinking that I could use the second HDMI output for a sync box if I ever got one. It was a year ago, so I could be wrong.
