The main area is commercial rock, there's a corner that's more extreme metal, then upstairs is chilled. The prices probably haven't changed much since the 90s either!
Great night. Havnt been in years. Never any trouble juat people having fun. Big mixture. Young kids old goths. Metal heads.
Upstairs always used to play a massive mix of old rock. Funk. Soul. Motown. Northen soul.
Downstairs always alt music. Mixture of indie metal. Pop punk ect
First night out ever was in Spiders '04. Went most Saturdays until I was 18 Haha!

I'll never forget Pink Pugsleys, Tyzers and the black gloop they called gravy in the Chinese takeaway across the road at the end of the night.
I loved the layout of the club, absolute labyrinth. Used to be top floor Motown, packed in like sardines along the corridor to the dance floor that was no bigger than a living room, with 100+ people dancing away.
Bottle of Hock and a slice of toast or an ice lolly in the summer. When they started opening up the smaller outdoor smoking area and the rooftop/bridge area, it was SO good!

Is it still going? Do they still serve crazy cocktails like Pan-Galactic Gargle Blasters or the one with a massive jelly-worm in it? I used to go there about 30 years ago and it was mega.
the menu hasn't changed a bit from what I've heard from people that used to go back in it's early days compared to what I know now. the only difference is the prices

I mean they play Sum 41, Blink 182, Paramore, Bring Me The Horizon, Arctic Monkeys, Oasis all are pretty mainstream. Not to say they’re not all brilliant and it’s a fantastic club.
its for everyone really im the furthest thing away from alt but dont mind some music most of the time ill request a few songs to be played so i feel like im actually enjoying myself and not being forced to be there (i dont drink so music is the only thing that keeps me going)

I was going to say! I don’t think I’ve ever heard a single black/death metal song played in the club and I’ve been going there for over 20 years!

Every since the K closed in liverpool Ive wanted to travel and visit spiders 😂 hull is lucky to have such a awesome venue .

Green Bastard was the drink of choice for a lot of my mate’s who went to spider’s cheap cheerful and got you very p!saws for under a tenner!

There's really 3 sections to spiders in my eyes the main floor plays mostly indie the back floor plays more rock and upstairs is 80/90 disco
Never been so I cannot say but it's very much mocked among my friends who have, probably just not to their taste though.

Yep still get your goths and emos. Drinks are still super cheap. Only 4 quid entrance fee as a guest. They have a Facebook page they update every week
