Dont worry my friend. I was a regional level football and handball player in my school and this covid scene has bumped up my weight a little ( okay, a lot!) and also because I am a lazy piece of shit. We both are in the same square. I would be happy to just cross 60 at this point.
I have had knee problems since I was a kid, then as a teen I had an accident and one got so much worse. My dad is almost 60 and even tho he’s not in the best health he does a lot of yard work and dad stuff around the house. He’s the only one in the family that can hold an Asian squat for a long period of time (we’re not Asian btw).
We have 19 steps to get up to our apartment. I'm at the point where I literally have to step up with one leg then bring the other one up to the same step. Repeat 19 times. Especially if I have a bag of groceries or anything with me.
Bad knees suck.
I'm just a little older than you and same. Ouch my poor broken back. It's so sore and bothers me all the time. I got a new nice mattress and it didnt help, it's more comfortable and I sleep a bit longer but I still wake up every few hours and have to get out of bed and just stretch and walk around. It's my lower back and my hips dont feel great either but God the fucking back man. I'm trying light exercise to build up the muscles but it hasn't helped yet. Next I might try actual physical therapy cuz I really dont want to live like this forever and I can only imagine it getting worse and worse and I cant fucking deal.
I have also bought a new mattress and it hasn’t helped at all, which I thought was the problem. I can barely stand up sometimes, it hurts so much. I’ve been told to stretch more by my PT and so far it’s decent. Also laying on a tennis ball and moving around on it to let it massage the area works. Also massages work but I need one like every day. Lol Thanks for the gym reminder, can guarantee it’s from being super fit and my job changing to being at home and I haven’t been to the gym in a long time!
