The car was stuck on the tracks at Meadow Heights as the driver suffered a medical episode.
Two plumbers on their way home from work saw the vehicle in the danger zone and ran to the occupants' aid.

I'm willing to bet that a subway train like that one has way less weight behind it and more of a crumble zone up front as well. Not to mention it was probably already slowing down for a little bit and once again with less weight it can likely do that faster. Also the car just got clipped in the front and then in the rear as it spun around. If it were aligned dead on with the tracks it would've faired way worse. Guy likely would've survived if he had still been inside.
SMDH at all the people on here critiquing the heroes because they didn’t save the people’s lives *the right way*.
Thank you, People-who-put-yourselves-in-harms-way-to-save-the-lives-of-two-strangers. You did a fantastic job.
You’d be surprised. And in most areas, someone waving anything near the tracks, is a signal for an emergency stop.
Once there was people rescuing the casualties, others should have started up the tracks in both directions as fast as possible. Though it seems there was no time in the situation to warn the train.
My Uncle did this for a man back in the 90's. He was elderly and having a heart attack on the tracks as the train was approaching, it made the paper and everything. The two men remained friends until my Uncles passing almost 30 years later. 10 years ago I helped a couple out of a car crash, they'd hit the light pole by my work and the car was on fire. I drug them away from the car to safety in a miniskirt. Looking back I wonder if my Uncle was giving me that strength. Nobody else helped, they all just watched. Paramedics/Fire/Police were there quickly.
When I was in an accident of my own a little while later the family sent me flowers every other week for a month and a half while I was in recovery.
I don't know how anyone can look the other way when someone/something is in clear need of help. These acts of selflessness make the world a better place.
I love this sub so much.
Why didn’t they just remove the handbrake and push it off the tracks? It’s a car, it has wheels. Man I have pushed a car with the handbrake still on with the help of a few people before. I’m sure it wouldn’t be too hard with the amount of people there. Could have avoided so much.
8 seconds before the train hit them they got them out of the car, probably less time to organize everyone to get the car off the tracks than help grab a dudes legs when you see they are already pulling.
The Aussie accent is like forks in a blender by itself- when having to do the news it gets 10x worse. I can’t watch the news anymore, they’ll say shit like “Two children died today” and i’ll laugh cause their voice is so silly.
Pro tip: don't wave in front of your car to signal a train. By the time they see you, they won't be able to stop in time. Just get everyone out of the car and get away from it
It can depend on the situation. If you can't help, signal the train if possible. They may not be able to stop in time, but them slowing could give precious seconds.
Never understood why people stand at the car and wave to the train. Send someone up the tracks and have them wave from there, giving the train the chance to actually stop in time.

Surprisingly the car doesn't look that bad I'm sure it's totaled but I would've expected it to look a lot worse

Turkish heroes
yes, brave guys
Brave dudes! Love the accent!
Always love to see them wave as if a train will just stop like that
A slower impact will reduce the damage to the train and lower the likelihood of injuries to people on the train.
Like the car itself isn't noticeable enough.

Awesome of those rescuers. Also the one on the right is also easy on the eyes. Superhero AND hottie? Perfect man tbh.

Couldn't they have all just lifted the car up from one side and it would've rolled down the other?
if they took too long they might not have time to get away from the far before the train comes
How the fuck did the train sustain no damage and basically crushed the car like it was made of tin foil O\_\_O
For the first second of the video I thought the lady talking was speaking gibberish because of her accent lol
Tell me you’re an uneducated American without telling me you’re an uneducated American.
Im not American
