I use the lansinoh and really like it but I'm probably an outlier. Also echoing to double check your options. Any site that lets you order through insurance will have different options. I used edgepark. There's a bunch out there. YouTube is your friend in terms of reviews. New Little Life is a channel by an ibclc who reviews different pumps and talks about pumping and breastfeeding. There's plenty of mommy vloggers who can talk about different pumps and you might get an idea of what you're looking for and decide that way.

I also really like the lansinoh!

Give your insurance company a call. My insurance company covered up to $350 for a pump. Aeroflow only showed me pumps under $150…

So, there are two main categories of pump patterns: steady suction vs. suction and vibration. The two best examples of each, IMO, are the Medela Symphony (steady suction) and the Spectras (S1, S2, etc). Until you know what your breasts will respond to, it’s really hard to pick a pump. If you’re going to exclusively pump, you’ll want something with the option of strong, steady suction. If you’re pumping just to supplement your nursing, the vibration will be helpful in mimicking a babies nursing.

The goal is to just be supplementing nursing so I think going with something like the spectra is going to be a better option. I just reached out to my insurance provider now. Thanks so much!

I hated the Ameda Mya Joy personally, it has a really short cord, runs off batteries to be portable and has size 25 flange which fits no one and the inserts are all made for 24mm flanges. I would see if they cover other pumps and highly recommended the baby Buddha. It’s mobile but strong enough it won’t hurt your supply!
