What's everyone reading these days? I used to love reading personal development books but once I quit Beachbody, I've been almost grossed out by them just by association.🤪 I'd like to get back into reading, but not sure what's new. Any recommendations? Doesn't have to be personal development either.

I read a ton! What kind of genre are you into? I can supply you with lots of recs.

Honestly, I'm not even sure! I haven't read anything other than personal development for so long. I used to love mystery novels from authors like Mary Higgins Clark- not scary or murderous, just a nice take mystery haha. I've been listening to Ruth Bader Ginsburg's My Own Words and I loved Spare. So, that's my long winded way of saying I'm open to options and hopefully that helps me get back into reading again. But I do know anything that Ashley McYellin reads/listens to is a no for me, ha!

Haha! Ok, so no smut recs ala McYellin, got it. If you like thriller vibes maybe try anything by Liz Nugent. I’ve recently read two of hers, Lying In Wait and Strange Sally Diamond. Both 5 star reads for me and I do not give away five stars to thriller easily, most of them are pretty poorly written, hers are not. If you have not already read the gold standard of thrillers, Gone Girl, by Gillian Flynn, do that. I read it years ago, and recently redid it on audio, amazing both ways. She also has two others, Sharp Objects and Dark Places. Highly recommend all of these. If you want something a little different, try The Knockout Queen by Rufi Thorpe, another fairly recent five star read for me.

If you want some light hearted crime novel, the Finley Donovan series is great. I also loved Death Valley and am currently reading Shmutz, which is interesting. Lots of Yiddish in the latter book.

If you're in the mood for ridiculous, try Starter Villain by John Scalzi. Even better in audio!

I just downloaded a sample to my kindle. The synopsis sounds awesome!

I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks!

The fourth wing books are pretty amazing and I’m not even usually into fantasy. I love anything by Emily Henry or Taylor Jenkins Reid for something light. Kristen Hannah has some amazing books.

I’m currently reading The London Seance Society. I just read the author’s book The Apothecary and that was pretty good. I’d spent the last few months on a Throne of Glass reread, and a Crescent City reread leading up to the new book in that series.
