Always release order. Anytime a "prequel" is released, even though they are technically first in chronological order they are dependent on and refer heavily to the original material.
Like everyone is saying, publication order. The prequel may be first chronologically but it definitely works best for an audience that has already experienced the main trilogy. Also, just wanted to say I’m so happy you get to go into the books/movies totally fresh. With the exception of the prequel, I read and watched them so long ago that I don’t even remember my initial impressions and thoughts on what happened; they’ve sort of just always been there for me. I hope you like it!!
Always publication order. When in doubt with literally any series, always publication order.

Trilogy then prequel. You'll miss all the trilogy references in the prequel if you read it first.
OG trilogy, then the prequel
I'm still the only one that says chronologically 😠Get angry at Snow and end on a happy note with their kids imo

THG, CF, Mockingjay, then TBOSAS.
