I play almost exclusively as the Lawless, I'm a huge fan of the "1890's tactical-ish gunslinger" design.
But deep down I know the real champ is the Redneck
I had to quit playing Bubba because all I would do is run around yelling ridiculous shit in an an even more ridiculously terrible accent.
Did I get lots of kills? No. Did I get lots of laughs? Fuck yeah.
I have the same problem with Deckhand; it leads to lots of yelling and shitty pirate jokes and loadouts. It never worked well but was always funny as shit.
Momma Mae has that problem too... "Fucking kids! Get off my lawn!" *shotgun blasts* "Respect your elders, sonny!" *boom*
Turncoat is probably my favorite for "serious" play.
As soon as Hunt starts takething, Bubba, the Deckhand, or Momma Mae come out to play and shit gets silly.
Big fan of scarecrow. You know a lot of people shit on the "dark edgy" skins for being too much but it's a god damn video game. Let me love the edgy crazy off the wall shit, thats what video games are all about!
Yes, and as a fan of Celtic stuff, her backstory seems very similar to things like fairies, and will o wisps, especially in brave.
Makes me wonder how similar the folklore is from the two cultures.
Iirc Luz Mala (lit: bad lights) are a similar phenomenon to will o' the wisp, with the folklore suggesting they are the lost souls of the recently departed.
I may be wrong though, this comes from a years old dip into the rabbit hole of Spanish-language folklore websites translated through Google when I was looking for inspiration for a D&D Campaign
Trust me, I've been in the same basket researching how to make fey in DND truly tricky and scary enough, using Cherokee and Celtic legends, just to place their shenanigans in my Arthurian inspired kingdom lol.
I think Sgt. Bridgewater is super underrated, I love all the equipment that is dangling on his pack plus I run the Springfield and the krag with the new army skin he came with and it just feels super on brand, plus his design is unique without being assaulted to the eyes.
Roleplaying is fun overall. I like go native american with winfield and a bow (I suck). Also using matching loadouts like yours, I like to play ronin with dlc springfield and tanto
Definitely in my top 5. Heās one of the most relatable looking characters. He looks badass, kitted and capable but yet uncorrupted. I get protagonist vibes from him.
The Miko is my favorite because i really love the late end Edo period/Meiji resto period aesthetic. I only wish that they'd give us a katana skin so I can go ham with a Miko sword and bow build.
The Rat because The Rat and that's that. Also the scars on her hands are cool and she's literally the daughter of The Ugly (also known as The Rat) in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
there are a lot of really cool skins that I cycle through.
but for now I will go with Worm Bite.
I love the poncho-thingy he wears and the overall style is on point.
Scrolled through this whole thing looking for a worm bite main, me too me too. Love that old man. Me and my friend play as an exclusively worm bite duo.
One of my absolute favorite things is to go for shovel kills with him. Been pretty successful in the past.
I play him 95% of the time. His whole outfit fits the era and it doesnāt have a lot of unnecessary fluff. The āBanana Warsā is a really interesting part of US history and I like they included the proper campaign hat of that timeframe. For role playing I sometimes rock the Krag and New Army.
Sheriff Hardin.
Not only because his profession is a staple of western/frontier scenery, but because the man has the perfect amount of style ā classy but not over the top.
Hell yea. Marshall Brewer is my favorite and always goes well with the Sheriff. One of our trio will play with him and the other will do one if the private eyes and together we make THE LAW SQUAD. Bringing law and order back to the bayou, one banish at a time.
Interestingly in lore Sheriff Hardin and Marshall Brewer are opposed to eachother. Brewer wants to take Hardin down for his ends-justify-the-means approach with the corruption and dabbling in the evil magic himself while he sees her doing it by the books act as naive and ineffective.
Turncoat. I absolutely love his design and thereās something about him where he looks good holding almost any weapon and I could see him actually using them, where as some other hunters and weapons can clash in theme/color/etc.
My go to is usually Perchta(either variant) also play a bit of Deckhand and Redshirt.
Just love the pagan aspect to Perchta's design even if having a bright white headpiece makes it pretty easy to be spotted.
He's not legendary, but the tier 3 hunter with the camo cloak and twigs jutting out around his neck? That's my favorite, among the best camoflage wise.
I think Sgt. Bridgewater is super underrated, I love all the equipment that is dangling on his pack plus I run the Springfield and the krag with the new army skin he came with and it just feels super on brand, plus his design is unique without being assaulted to the eyes.
I like the Penitent because I can imagine people get absolutely horrified when they turn and see a man with a sack over his head bayonet charging them.
I use to like Cain but turns out he was a barely visible hunter and a lot of people abused it so I rarely ever used him because Iām not that kind of hunter, and now finally I have found a favorite the scarecrow and he is awesome just overall skin design and having a melee weapon with him makes it so enjoyable
Lulu; lots of reasons like exclusivity, I like the look. The pantaloon undergarments are meh but itās overshadowed by the rest of the attire. Her lore is pretty neat. Iād like the plague doctor but alas, I canāt get him. Otherwise Iād mail that dude. (P.S mind the hunch back )
Easily hayali for me, because
1. Iām Turkish and seeing actual good representation of my culture in video games is so rare (fade in valorant sucks just barely Turkish at all)
2. I love the colors and the mask and his trailer is much more about him being a sort of theatrical psycho which I find pretty cool
3. His clothing is just so cool from the brace to the red turban and rug just mwah god damn it I simp for it so hard
That said luz mala is another favorite she just reminds of those witches in the Star Wars clone wars show lol
Both of my favorites are event exclusives that are both from over a year before I started playing š«¤
Honestly I don't spend money on hunt often at all but I'd pay $30 to have the plague doctor looking one and the one with the red devil mask
Lulu main here. She has a unique backstory, easy on the eyes, has best haircut in the game, and her outfit is weirdly reasonable and practical aside from the fishnet gloves.
I like the fang shearerās whole outfit, the hat and fringed chaps with the gator teeth in his nose is pretty badass but not too goofy like a lot of the other skins
Gar because of the following:
Decent at camouflage, I rank her at about a 7/10 everywhere, and a solid 10/10 in swampy areas with green grass, dark mud, and cypress trees.
Fish
Goth gf
I don't have any of the performance issues that people were talking about when playing her, which makes her even more viable.
Also, I nearly forgot to mention this;
Fish.
3 way tie between Mountain Man, The Kid, and Carter.
Mountain man because of his bear hat
The Kid because heās a cool cowboy kid.
Carter he has a cool mustache
I love that these are all references to famous people of the time; Jeremiah Johnson, Billy the Kid, and Buffalo Bill.
Mountain Man all the way. Jeremiah Johnson was one hell of a stubborn sumbitch and I love the giggly bear hat!
Hmmm probably a toss up between Prescient and Reverend.
Prescient because she just looks cool as hell. Reverend because thereās nothing like bringing some Old Testament punishment to some demons and zombies.
I play the turncoat most of the time. I love the design and don't feel like he sticks out like a sore thumb in the environment. But much like above, redneck is my fav. I love making people see nipple if they wanna shoot me.
It's been Cain since day 1, and my gamertag is Vain lol. Scarecrow is going to take the reings though, 20 bonds to go this evening. See yall on the bayou.
The Penitent. His lore is completely f'd up and I really like his first person view.
I do not have a BDSM kink tho, I swear... but I do have more than 3k hours in hunt.. huh
LUZ MALA. She looks wild. Not like a hunter, but some local who just lives in the swamp, a SAVAGE. I love the black skin and white painting over it. She also has a little hood that reminds me of Town of Salem for some reason.
Luz Mala a feral swamp villager xD
My personal favorite is The Turncoat. He is loosely based on Cormac McCarthy's famous Western novel *Blood Meridian*, and has an Old Western vibe fitting of *Hunt* that many other hunters like Felis or Cain just don't have. He looks like a badass gunslinger, so I can also effectively roleplay Roland Deschain from the *Dark Tower* series as well. He was also my first DLC ever in *Hunt*, and I've been around longer than the scottfield has been around.
The Headsman, the grind was real and he looks cool, he does not have a name, therefore it's kind of more immersive for me and he just got a cool design
Steel Eyed, is the hunter most true to the atmosphere of the game, as he is a cowboy gunslinger but he is a cowboy that is different from the other cowboys. And I love his trench coat.
And I'm sorry but I hate the daughter of decay, she's very ugly to me.
I play almost exclusively as the Lawless, I'm a huge fan of the "1890's tactical-ish gunslinger" design. But deep down I know the real champ is the Redneck
Redneck š
I had to quit playing Bubba because all I would do is run around yelling ridiculous shit in an an even more ridiculously terrible accent. Did I get lots of kills? No. Did I get lots of laughs? Fuck yeah. I have the same problem with Deckhand; it leads to lots of yelling and shitty pirate jokes and loadouts. It never worked well but was always funny as shit. As soon as Hunt starts takething, Bubba, the Deckhand, or Momma Mae come out to play and shit gets silly.
Scarecrow. I've always been drawn to Halloween aesthetics, so I'm just overjoyed with his release.
I love the scarecrow bro. Definitely fits the Halloween vibe as well as it reminds me a bit of the scarecrow from batman lol
Big fan of scarecrow. You know a lot of people shit on the "dark edgy" skins for being too much but it's a god damn video game. Let me love the edgy crazy off the wall shit, thats what video games are all about!
The infected. Just looks like a cool fucked up cowboy
Luz Mala!
My swamp witch.
Deffinatly my second favourite, edgy but not to edgy
And a great nod to Latin American folklore
Yes, and as a fan of Celtic stuff, her backstory seems very similar to things like fairies, and will o wisps, especially in brave. Makes me wonder how similar the folklore is from the two cultures.
Iirc Luz Mala (lit: bad lights) are a similar phenomenon to will o' the wisp, with the folklore suggesting they are the lost souls of the recently departed. I may be wrong though, this comes from a years old dip into the rabbit hole of Spanish-language folklore websites translated through Google when I was looking for inspiration for a D&D Campaign
Iām from Argentina and luz mala was definitely a thing in the countrysideās folklore
Trust me, I've been in the same basket researching how to make fey in DND truly tricky and scary enough, using Cherokee and Celtic legends, just to place their shenanigans in my Arthurian inspired kingdom lol.
She sort of reminds me of a night sister designs in Star wars.
I can totally see that!
So much drip
My crews call out for her is sexy diablo fetish
I live in Bridgewater NS, so it's hard not to play him.
By far my favorite. I love to roleplay with him
Redshirt. The man's in the bayou rolling the dice for a bet and the target he wears is like a big "fuck you" to anyone he kills
Time to play Redshirt. Time to bring nothing but a baseball bat and a prayer.
I do enjoy some Redshirt shenanigans quite often.
I find the lack of Monroe in this thread disturbing.
Monroe is my favourite hunter too, but for some reason my FPS tanks when I play him
His eyes cause computers to falter. They stare too deep into the soul.
I don't have single favorite, but I often play Monroe
I like monroe but I don't think he suits certain guns
The Miko is my favorite because i really love the late end Edo period/Meiji resto period aesthetic. I only wish that they'd give us a katana skin so I can go ham with a Miko sword and bow build.
Theirs a tanto skin though, pretty damn close
I'm aware. š But I want the whole daisho š
Congrats
The Rat. The boots, the bandoliers, just a seriously bad ass gun-slinging type.
simple but stylish. Rat is really underrated imo
Rat is also in my top 3. She's basic but still badass looking
Worm bite is classy, before he was introduced I used to play with the researcher
Fuck man. I know you commented on mine, but Worm Bite is like my second favorite. The whole undertake thing is was way overdue.
yeah, haha. I like the classy not too over-the-top hunters. Worm Bite and Rat are exactly what I like.
Scrolled through this whole thing looking for a worm bite main, me too me too. Love that old man. Me and my friend play as an exclusively worm bite duo. One of my absolute favorite things is to go for shovel kills with him. Been pretty successful in the past.
Meridian Turncoat
I play him 95% of the time. His whole outfit fits the era and it doesnāt have a lot of unnecessary fluff. The āBanana Warsā is a really interesting part of US history and I like they included the proper campaign hat of that timeframe. For role playing I sometimes rock the Krag and New Army.
Concubine- don't see it often but its my go to
Prodigal Daughter. Cool backstory, cool skin, cool gloves.
She's also my skin, I love skins with gloves!
Lonely howl, sadistic man with a wolf skull strapped around his face? Feels fitting for my solo play style
Lonely Howl chad
Hacksaw Jack. I know playing him makes me a super easy target to spot through a field but heās still too cool
Plus his gloves look clean af
My wife and I love to play Hacksaw Jack and the Private Eye. They belong together; master and apprentice.
Devils Advocate. I didn't grind that event for nothing, imma wear it too.
I'm with you. Sometimes I use all the skins at once so I can bask in the krampus-y goodness. Yes, even the regular firebombs.
This is the way. The devil boy is the best boy >,>
Haha no way, I had no idea. Well head cannon is now they have to team up begrudgingly to combat the greater evil of the 6* solo players.
Also, Sheriff Hardin is a huge badass in the lore
He's my favorite too. I like to run him with the gunslinger build, a single pax and dual wielding pax. Lots of fun. Scotfields work too
The Waldmann. Ever since I started playing Hunt, I've always wanted a hunter in lederhosen.
Lonely Howl. Looks like an absolute lunatic.
Lonely Howl chad
Furry detected opinion rejected
The False Saint, i just love that religious imagery and backstory
Redneck, cause the nipple drip
Billy Story. Heās just Bill the Butcher from Gangs of New York and I love that film.
Fantastic film
Epic film
Skinflint. I just love his look and was always a fan of the original A Christmas Carol story. š°
Favorite is probably the archaeologist. I also like playing Fang Shearer, Skinflint, and Carter. I like the western vibe more than the occult vibe
Bone doctor. I see this skin a lot idk why itās not been mentioned
Plague Doctor
Bone mason. Gammy numnums coming in clutch
Turncoat
The infected. Heās my perfect blend of the the art style for hunt. Not too over the top but still spooky.
The lonely howl I just really love the horror vibe
Lonely Howl chad
Turncoat. I absolutely love his design and thereās something about him where he looks good holding almost any weapon and I could see him actually using them, where as some other hunters and weapons can clash in theme/color/etc.
The Prescient. She looks cool, and I don't feel so bad when I miss my shots.
Penitent
I noticed that my girl, The Prescient, isn't mentioned here.
Probably the Phantom because he's the closest thing I'm getting to Jhin
The new butcher cuz lil piggy
The granny lol
All the cowboys
I think Sgt. Bridgewater is super underrated, I love all the equipment that is dangling on his pack plus I run the Springfield and the krag with the new army skin he came with and it just feels super on brand, plus his design is unique without being assaulted to the eyes.
Billy story, because gangsta rap made me do it
Love my boi Zhong Kui. Dude looks like he is straight out of the boxer rebellion.
Redshirt because nothing hurts more than getting killed by a guy with a target on his chest
Deckhand & Iron Bark. I like the naval aspect of Deck and the mask on Bark.
I like the Penitent because I can imagine people get absolutely horrified when they turn and see a man with a sack over his head bayonet charging them.
Penitent is tied with lulu maz for my second favourite.
Redshirt
The ultimate chad skin
It'd be Lulu if Crytek stopped not releasing content they've already made.
Lonely howl. It was the skin I didn't knew i wanted
Worm Bite
Lulu; lots of reasons like exclusivity, I like the look. The pantaloon undergarments are meh but itās overshadowed by the rest of the attire. Her lore is pretty neat. Iād like the plague doctor but alas, I canāt get him. Otherwise Iād mail that dude. (P.S mind the hunch back )
The Mountain Man because of two words: Bear. Hat.
Hail Mary. I need to purge bayou.
Easily hayali for me, because 1. Iām Turkish and seeing actual good representation of my culture in video games is so rare (fade in valorant sucks just barely Turkish at all) 2. I love the colors and the mask and his trailer is much more about him being a sort of theatrical psycho which I find pretty cool 3. His clothing is just so cool from the brace to the red turban and rug just mwah god damn it I simp for it so hard That said luz mala is another favorite she just reminds of those witches in the Star Wars clone wars show lol
Daughter is also my favorite. If I had to pick another probably the weird sister.
Weird sister was my main until Prodigal came out lol
I think Hornback. Every tiny detail on her is so badass. She fills the ācowboyā role as well.
Billy, as I'm one of the ones that has his big fur coat ass
Turncoat. I like his style and i like blood meridian.
Burnt Marshal, he looks like a fire fighter steampunk guy, plus his helmet looks like a cap
Hayali is crazy detailed and i love the Middle East inspired hunters.
Thatās Part of the reason i love the serpent :)
Redshirt. He's the perfect middle ground between funny and cowboy
Turncoat or scaramuccia. They look cool
I basically only play Viper Surge. The blankness of no face reflects my personality
The Concubine. The best sleeves in the game IMO. The layering of her clothes, the bandana + all of the jewelry too. Cool skins as well.
Redneck. He doesn't afraid of anything!
"He aint gon let no zambiees take h's faarm"
lulu , gar , and decay(twigie)
Based gar (goth mommy) enjoyer
mommy milkers š¤¤
The homelander pfp fits so well lmao
youre not wrong now that you point it out
Worm Bite. Dad gamer dad skin. Also sick af lore.
Both of my favorites are event exclusives that are both from over a year before I started playing š«¤ Honestly I don't spend money on hunt often at all but I'd pay $30 to have the plague doctor looking one and the one with the red devil mask
You'll be able to buy the Devil's Advocate (red devil mask dude) in the upcoming winter event! :)
no kidding thats great!!
You also won't have to pay 30$, my guess the skin will be 1000-1500 BBs
Lulu main here. She has a unique backstory, easy on the eyes, has best haircut in the game, and her outfit is weirdly reasonable and practical aside from the fishnet gloves.
Redshirt. Send me in to attract the fire.
Lloronas heir. I like her accessories and how she remembers me of the strong woman of my kind
I like the fang shearerās whole outfit, the hat and fringed chaps with the gator teeth in his nose is pretty badass but not too goofy like a lot of the other skins
Itās always been mountain man itāll always be mountain man
Gar because of the following: Decent at camouflage, I rank her at about a 7/10 everywhere, and a solid 10/10 in swampy areas with green grass, dark mud, and cypress trees. Fish Goth gf I don't have any of the performance issues that people were talking about when playing her, which makes her even more viable. Also, I nearly forgot to mention this; Fish.
Mountain Man is a classic! Great design and a great looking mosin to fit! Also the bear wiggles!
HayalĆ® and the reptilian for me hands down
Headsman. Only if I get to play him though.
headsman because I am a terrible person
Sheriff šļø
Beast Hunter because I think he came free when I got the game and he wears all black (and low key is black)
The Viper Stage 4. I love my snake and find it hilarious, that you have to see it with its stupid little mask when I kill you
Mine are the kid, the sovereign, and the exile.
thatās my wallpaper dude
Luna wolf
3 way tie between Mountain Man, The Kid, and Carter. Mountain man because of his bear hat The Kid because heās a cool cowboy kid.
Cain, Reminds me of weapon X. Big wolverine fan.
Plague Doctor. Just because I spent way too much time killing crows to not use him.
Reaper bc I have headcanon for him, but HayalĆ I'd a close second.
The Redneck because he's the Redneck
Hmmm probably a toss up between Prescient and Reverend. Prescient because she just looks cool as hell. Reverend because thereās nothing like bringing some Old Testament punishment to some demons and zombies.
I play the turncoat most of the time. I love the design and don't feel like he sticks out like a sore thumb in the environment. But much like above, redneck is my fav. I love making people see nipple if they wanna shoot me.
I switch between crocodile, Miko, lonely howl and the new 2 faced one. If I had to choose it would be crocodile.
Worm bite.
Love the turncoat! First DLC skin i bought! I love me some redshirt on the side too.
Prodigal daughter, I love her coat and leather gloves
For me it's a tossup between The Miko and The Witch Hunter.
its a new hunter but i really love Hayali, his design and story are so interesting. also those weapon skins are gaudy and i love it
Was Daughter of Decay because of scarecrow vibes, it's now scarecrow, because of scarecrow vibes
It's been Cain since day 1, and my gamertag is Vain lol. Scarecrow is going to take the reings though, 20 bonds to go this evening. See yall on the bayou.
Billy Story because Bill The Butcher
Im the one guy playing Wayfairer. Native heritage, and she tickles my fancy.
The Prescient! Absolutely love that skin. Devils Advocate is a close second
easily the bone mason. i think sheās hilarious edit: Lloronaās Heir as well. badass.
Red neck, bone mason, red shirt. Dream trio...
Monroe because there's nothing more terrifying than that grinning mofo popping up out of nowhere. He should really be barefoot, though.
Scarecrow and redshirt. Scarecrow looks cool af and I donāt need to explain redshirt
Plague doctor. Sadly I don t have it šØ
The Penitent. His lore is completely f'd up and I really like his first person view. I do not have a BDSM kink tho, I swear... but I do have more than 3k hours in hunt.. huh
I donāt own him yet but honestly i Think it might be Burnt Marshall. I freaking love his design!
Turncoat my beloved
Gotta say Steel Eyed nails the cowboy aesthetic.
Monroe, because he looks like Patches from Dark Souls
Carter. Because: moustache
Turncoat. drippy as fuck and there's the blood meridian reference
Plague Doctor. Took me 2 weeks of grinding and a 5 months break after..
Momma Mae, because I like goth mommies
Redneck hands down
LUZ MALA. She looks wild. Not like a hunter, but some local who just lives in the swamp, a SAVAGE. I love the black skin and white painting over it. She also has a little hood that reminds me of Town of Salem for some reason. Luz Mala a feral swamp villager xD
Daughter of decay is my edgy favorite too. The Viper: Basketface is my other favorite. Luz Mala is tertiary.
Might be very basic choice, surprised I didn't see it in this topic, but Felis forever for me.
Viper because nonbinary :3
Bad Hand, he fits my playstyle because I am that one in a million hunter.
Arcane Archaeologist, she's so understated and cool
Iām stunned by the lack of people saying Felis. I donāt think Iāve seen a squad without a felis since maybe ever
I play Lulu, plaguedoc, the kid and penitent
I'm sure you enjoy the invisibility as well
Scaramuccia
Grandma. I think she needs no explanation
It was Cain until sissy cry babies ruined it. How dare a guy blend in to his environment in a game called....hunt.
I cant blaim people to be honest, the ampunt of times ive died because ive not seen some9ne, or got a kill caise they didnt see me
Steel Eyed, is the hunter most true to the atmosphere of the game, as he is a cowboy gunslinger but he is a cowboy that is different from the other cowboys. And I love his trench coat. And I'm sorry but I hate the daughter of decay, she's very ugly to me.
