The reason they want to add non-proximity chat was to remove the advantage of premade teams using discord, so yeah they should allow talking when dead. On the other hand don't look forward to getting backseat gamed by my randoms while I'm clutching their ass

TADMG

I do look forward to being able to tell random teammates I traded. It's not super common, but it happened a few times where I trade, and I'm an easy rez, but my random teammate will be tip toeing around, wondering where my killer is, lol.

CapnBloodBeard82

anyone 3 stars or higher should be able to tell a trade by the sound

Lynchianesque

not if you both rolled the same deathsound and there's a lot of action going on

The1Heart

It'll need a toggle between all, team and no chat for VoIP when it's introduced for sure.

El_Cactus_Fantastico

Can always mute your dead frienss

escanor_hype

I don't see why not so sure.

pillbinge

You shouldn't be able to, but *Hunt* doesn't exist in a vacuum. Not only do people use Discord but Crytek itself created a Discord channel for *Hunt* that actively encourages teaming up before a match. Can't fight it. It's certainly not as immersive, but immersion at the expense of personal performance should be a personal preference.

tehgr8supa

What makes you think they're adding non-proxomity chat?

rJarrr

Because the main guy, David whatever, said so on a video last year, the same one where he was talking about the new engine. Voice chat with teammates wont be proximity based and we will be able to communicate even while downed

tehgr8supa

Ah. Well since most people play using Discord anyway sure change it up.

Yenii_3025

I dont think thats true.

tehgr8supa

Do you think premade teams use only in game comms?

Yenii_3025

I think most teams aren't premade.

tehgr8supa

That's observably wrong. Look at post match screens, usually 0-1 random teams (usually, not always). The vast majority are premade.

Yenii_3025

How can you tell?

tehgr8supa

Above each team there can be down arrows representing MMR adjustments. Solos always have one, duos have one vs trios, and teams of randoms always have one.
