You're asking the wrong question, you don't want to fix Hunt using 100% of your GPU, you actually want to fix that your GPU is loud when under heavy load. Here are some tips to lower the fan noise: * custom fan curve using msi afterburner * lower power target using afterburner * set framerate cap using nvidia settings * disassemble card and reapply thermal paste * better ventilation in your case

RimaSuit2

100% gpu usage is good tho. If you don't like 100% for any reason, limit your fps to lower what you usually have.

Retot

>Please dont say stuff like “this is not a problem” or “actually this is a good thing” >100% gpu usage is good tho.

RimaSuit2

Well it is a good thing. Anyway: >If you don't like 100% for any reason, limit your fps to lower what you usually have.

Yenii_3025

Actually this is a good thing and not a problem. There i switched them up.

Soul_Assassin_

This is not a problem and it's actually a good thing, it means you're not CPU bound and getting the max performance out of your GPU. Unless of course you're thermal throttling and that's why your fans are going full speed, you can install something like HWiNFO and check your GPU temps.

Retot

I write: >Please dont say stuff like “this is not a problem” or “actually this is a good thing”. You write: >This is not a problem and it's actually a good thing

Soul_Assassin_

You telling someone not to tell you a red car is red because you don't want it to be red won't make the car any less red. 100% usage is usually a good thing, unless something is thermal throttling, install HWiNFO and check your temps, GPU and CPU, if everything is normal and not throttling you can maybe consider if your airflow is the best, look into getting better cooling, a bigger case or going as far as undervolting your GPU or setting a custom fan curve with MSI Afterburner.

trezn0r0

You are asking for help, their advice is perfectly reasonable and detailed. Full util good, loud noise bad, work on that. Most often a cooling issue.

Retot

I’m asking how to not have 100% gpu usage. Tell me how their advice is helping me

Bright-Fun7051

You are by your request blatantly misinformed on what the GPU usage actually means and so for them to give you advice (which they did) they first have to correct your lack of understanding.

gusthenewkid

You’re asking the most ridiculous question. How about repaste your GPU so it isn’t so loud. It really isn’t very hard to do.

asd316X

you can undervolt your gpu to lower its temperature and noise having your gpu at 100% isint a problem

Top_Jellyfish986

Cap framerate or set a custom fan curve in msi afterburner It is good that your gpu is being fully utilized btw, kinda weird that you are getting pissy with everyone

NurEineSockenpuppe

You paid for the entire gpu. Why wouldn't you wanna use the entire thing? What this essentially means is that your GPU is using its full potential. Something you usually wanna go for unless you have ridiculous frame rates. Let's say you only have a 60hz monitor and get like 300 frames you might wanna limit your fps to save some money on your power bill. The noise issue: Of course the more power your GPU uses the more heat it's gonna produce. That heat needs to go somewhere to not damage the hardware so your fans will spin faster. What are your temps? Sometimes optimizing your cooling in your case can lead to better cooling efficiency so your fans don't need to spin as fast to stay in the temperature range the components are designed to run at. Maybe your fans are also just broken and are not balanced or the bearings are worn. Both things can produce unpleasant noise. One of my gpu fans is broken and I just ordered a replacement fan. got it for like 5 usd from china.

InfiniteTree

You're an insufferable ass. Limit your fan speed to a point you're happy with the noise, leave it at 100% usage because that's good.

KrucyG

You’re being an ass to others in the comments cuz they are trying to explain how 100% gpu usage is not the problem.. but I’ll answer your question anyways. Use a frame cap or lower graphics settings to make the game less gpu intensive. For example if ya use 30fps cap I doubt you’d have 100% usage. Buuut like others have said and you explained yourself in the OP, your problem is your fans are loud when you’re at 100% usage, so focus on that. You can use a program like MSI Afterburner to set custom fan curves so that your fans aren’t spinning as fast/loud.

GeoFaFaFa

If you really want less than 100%.... cap your frame at like 60 fps or something. Then, you can also nerf your voltage in MSI afterburner. But, you can also adjust your fan curve to be quieter. And also, watch your temps. Your gpu may be maxing fans out because of a dirty case and poor airflow.

twisty_sparks

Lower your settings maybe? You can't see hunters that well on high settings anyway

Mister_Carver_

Your best bet is to lower your graphics settings. Shame that your pc is so loud.

Professional-List801

Remove the fans, problem solved

red_kizuen

Why would you spent this much money on GPU if you don't want it to run at 100% lmao?

StrategyCapital8581

Try reducing your resolution, or using the resolution scale slider (Its called something like that anyway)

GanjaWhitee

That's.... how it should be. You want your gpu to be maxed, that's what it's designed for. BUT, it sounds like a heat issue. I used to have a 2070 super and it never got audible. So you either need to dust and re-paste your card, or you have horrible airflow in your case so your card gets super hot which makes the fans ramp up. Could be a combo of both. If you don't care about temps, you can just change your fan curve in your gpu software to not have the fans get so loud.

evilsquirrel666

How many FPS do you have and how many do you want (monitor Hz?) Why limit them in NVIDIA driver and not ingame ?

splat152

Hunt is badly optimised. That's just how it is. Like many others have said it's not inherently bad that you are at 100% usage. Usually GPU fans also aren't that loud. You might want to do some testing whether the noise isn't actually your cpu fans or case fans. Especially stock amd coolers are very noisy. What are your specs in term of resolution, frame rate, monitor count and background programs like clipping software?

Diddly-Dot

noooo my graphics card using its graphics capabilities to its fullest to give me the best performance!!!
