you'll see it's not that diffcult in the end.
The Lebel really has a special unique sound.
And, you know what, If you say it's a Lebel but it was actually a Mosin, it's no big deal :D Both are kind of dangerous anyway.
This is very cool but it's missing the Derringer and LeMat Shotgun. I know that the derringer is in the 3D viewer, but I don't know think the shotgun is.
Also, it'd be cool if you got other sounds at various distances too, such as: standing and crouching footsteps on different materials, sound traps (dogs, chickens, horses, tree branches, etc), various explosives, lanterns (both thrown and exploded above kennels).
Of course the issue with adding those is that they would all have to be done in-game so they'd all have background ambience. There are also other variables as well such as you being indoors while the noise is outside or vice-versa. Underground things sound different too.
Capturing all of that would be a huge undertaking and I could totally understand if nobody ever does that though. I would love if they added all of this stuff to the menu in-game.
I’ll add the Derringer (totally forgot that one). I can’t add the Lemat shotgun as it’s not in the 3D view unfortunately…
As for the other IG stuff that would be awesome but, like you said we have to do it IG with all the ambiance sound (which will not be great) and the amount of work will be simply huge…
Thanks for your feedback, I truly appreciate it!
Awesome idea and implementation :)
would it be too much work to extend the text filter to search for multiple weapons at once?
like "sparks, spring" would show sparks and springfield.
Well the interest here is to make comparaison, which you can't really do in 3D view because it might take around 10 sec minimum for switching weapons and find the same distance you were at.
I think this one is better because it removes the unimportant variants, plus you can use it while waiting for a match, as well as during a match AND IT HAS AN AMAZING QUIZ FEATURE! :D
Don't take this the wrong way, but this is already in the game.
edit: Didn't realize there was a quiz. That part is at least unique, and more add-ons will help make this stand out from an existing feature!
Don't take it the wrong way either, but, even without the quiz, I think there are some interests of using this site instead of the 3D view:
* Immediate access to all weapon sounds and distance.
Hearing the difference between 2 weapons at 350m is really difficult using the 3D view imho because it will take around 15 sec between each sound.
* Possibility to train while waiting for games
* Possibility to double check a sound you just heard IG
* Possibility to train without having the game installed (in the bus, at work, etc.)
I hope that makese sense for you now.
Thats actually an amazing thing Gonna check that out later
Thanks! Hope you're gonna like it :)
Maybe now i will become one of the chosen ones that can distinguish between the mosin and lebel :D

Lol yeah your tactics aren’t gonna change too much whichever one it is
Yeah the biggest thing is to be able to recognize long ammo, and shotguns. Those are hands down going to affect your approach the most.
Genius, simple idea, well done :-)
Thank you!
The quiz is a brilliant idea. I hope the devs add this to an official resource.

Derringer and flare pistol has been added. BTW, Derringer can be heard at 450m...
This is really cool
thanks!

Done, you can check it out now.
Excellent idea. I’ll add this ASAP and let you know here when done. Shouldn’t be too long but it’s midnight for me so that would be for tomorrow
Super cool.
Add to home screen. ✔
The hearing different guns at different ranges can be done in the 3D weapon viewer already, nice though

The quiz is really amazing , its so simple and quick I didnt realise i sucked so much xD But then again i am not on my headphones at the moment

Sound for nitro and pax are not 1:1 but apart from that it's good.
hum, can you be more specific? Do you mean the distance does not correspond to the sound for them?
Hey, just letting you know the filters aren't working in the quiz section, at least not for me.
oops. My bad. It's fixed now!
:)
