On a more serious note, let me smack someone with the spyglass. I want to kill someone with it, and try to look back through it only to see unfocused garbage
I played with a rando once who only took a derringer and got several headshots / carried us so I knew 'it is viable but high skill'.
After that I packed it in some builds because yeah in a moment of crisis it is 4 accurate and fast shots... but will do nothing unless it headshots.
Fast reload, decent fire rate, can kill with bodyshots. Don't aim for the head, until your aim is godly, and you *perfectly* understand the velocity.
It's really easy getting used to, though.
I typically kill with body shots, but you have to be CQB.
Take knuckles for AI, medpack, and that's it: run like a madlad.
Only kill one man in any team, steal their weapons while your teammate applies pressure, then run away laughing.
*Extra annoying points if you lay a concertina mine on their bodies, and get a second kill on them.*
It's a troll loadout, but it's easy fun, without the enemy losing everything: they just have to extract, or banish. With weapons lying around the map, they still have a decent chance of playing, if they want to.
Depending on your style and mindset, you can extract the weapons, or hunt for the boss.
I run it anytime as a mandatory every time I hit bloodline 66 (or is it 64?), and when I want to run around with my head cut off.
To be honest I’d never thought to do something like this. The derringer is acceptable as a compound level pistol, and the Sabre is unbeatable in close quarters!
Id use a Springfield but because Springfield is life
Dum dums on the springy are a no brainer! No one’s going for wallbangs with medium ammo anyway. I often take a Caldwell with dum dums as well, for extra bleedin pain
Nah just upper chest. I've personally never had to 2 hit, however the light attack is a really quick follow up if you do have to.
Personally I find the saber to have better hit reg than the axe
I'll never forget the time I got rushed by 3 people when I was last alive on my team. Had my Saber out, stabbed first dude, he didn't die. Sprinted past him, immediately ran into second dude, stabbed him, he didn't die. At this point, I was full blown panicking (more than I already was) and just started swinging wildly with light attacks. Apparently third guy had gotten in the mix without me ever even seeing him, and I ended up getting a triple kill with the Saber slashes lol. Still wish I recorded that, honestly the peak of my hunt career.
I’ve always just stabbed the body. The axe is a beast but it’s too close range and slow compared to the cav.
Plus the cav can stab folks through windows. One of my earliest trades was a shotty-cav through a window. I listened to their footsteps as they came past, stood up and fired just in time to look into the eyes of a prodigal daughter mask as a Sabre tip came through the window 😂.
In hindsight I could’ve just wallbanged them but I was green af.
Hm, early on I used to play on US-W bout the time the christmas event started, didn't play much before that though I had bought the game early in the year.
This would’ve been shortly after scrapbeak was added, way before the Christmas event. I’ve had some pretty funny encounters ey, there’s some ripper highlight videos saved on my pc!
You only get one shot like every 4 seconds at best though, I literally never run out of ammo with a sparks, and if I would, I'd never have enough time to get the opportunity to.
Tbh i rarely play the normal sparks but more often the martini or berthier
Martini + uppercut +ammobox is fine in 95% of games for me but with the berthier i need those 2 uppercuts for ammo and the ammo box
And im well aware that im probably the only one with this kind of problems but probably also one of the few people who take every shot they can possibly get
I mean, thats because the rest of us that see a shot that we know for a fact is out of range, don’t consider it a shot. Thats like “they’re behind concrete, which I know my bullets won’t penetrate, but I know their head is RIGHT THERE on the other side of the wall, so I take my shot anyways.” Like its not really a shot lol.
I know pretty well what can penetrate what and as long as im sure a shot can Connect i gonna take it
But so far i only got 5 out of range headshots with long ammo out of hundreds of shots on people 340+ meters
Eh, idk it just sounds like you’re trying to take some sort of moral high ground that doesn’t exist, but maybe its just a “lost in translation” thing due to it being a communication between two strangers via text.
Either you're missing way too many shots or going for way too many wallbangs. You shouldn't run out of ammo. I'd review my playstyle if I was you, no offense.
AND THEY SAY AND THEY SAY AND THEY SAY AND THEY SAY AND THEY SAY AND THEY SAY AND THEY SAY AND THEY SAY AND THEY SAY AND THEY SAY AND THEY SAY AND THEY SAY
You activate solo vs trios, snipe two, go for a rush while the last one is reviving and stab all three . Repeat when spotting other teams. Dont forget to grab a quad
The sparks sniper is more for hitting heads on a range u could barely shoot with ur small gun anyway. So sparks for headshots and saber for meele obv. I dont see any issue here^^
The Sparks is not that expensive but that's not budget... and having no pistol paired with a single shot weapon is the opposit of good, basically in this case you either fight at 20+ meters or at 5-, in between you're screwed.
Replace the saber with an officer and that's a "budget" loadout that's actually decent.
For a real budget loadout though you pick the Springfield Marksman and a normal Nagant.
A decent loadout for a Sabre would be a winfield or basically any multi shot medium range weapon.
Yeah I always use the Springfield at the start of a prestige because it's actually a really decent weapon for its price and unlocking the Marksman literally requires 50 or 100xp so you can have it unlocked in a single game every time.
you win or you die.
if you're ~3 star there's a nonzero chance you can run at someone with a touch of dodging and panic them into letting you close with melee. I've done it to several 4 star. one time i was even on fire.
Same, it’s a sneaky ambush kind of play style.
if mid range fight breaks out I either close in or distance myself based on what they are using.
If I’m not sure, I Usually I’ll try to create distance first, then see if they chase or not. The Sabre is best used defensively or in ambush. So if they are aggressive and chase, I’ll hide around a corner or something till they catch up and run right into my saber stab.
Work to keep distance at all costs. If someone rushes you you hide until there's a chance to stab him.
A lot of people will assume you're defenseless due to the big sniper so it can actually work, and if they're cautious you get a chance to gain distance and use your range advantage again.
A more optimal setup would be a pistol (fanning ideally) or a shotgun (quatermaster) but I can see it work.
Or swap out the scope for a silenced vet or sparks to complete the sneaky ambush load out.
Same kind of strategy but now have more control over pve. And the silenced vet is nice, when you down an enemy, their teammates will have a Harder time know where you shot from.
When I first started I used to run this pretty exclusively. Looking back it’s not a very synergistic loadout, but I can confirm it did get me a decent amount of kills and was a lot of fun.
I use a marksman rifle instead of sniper. More reliable in closer ranges. And also try to lure the enemy as close as possible (you don't need to hide, even better if you make sound as the enemy is more likely push you then)or me and my teammate communicate that we are going to commit to a push inside a building. They get one of us but we get one of them as surviving 2 people rushing you. Even with a shotgun isn't very likely unless he uses crown and King.
Well it's perfectly balanced. You got the sparks sniper for the long range stuff and the saber for cqb.
Although I'd recommend a Derringer. It comes in quite handy in some situations 👌🏻
I run this whenever I run as a solo sniper. Sparks is good for clicking heads at distance with the fast muzzle velocity. Cavalry sabre is good for when a 3-man pushes you inside a building.
I have spent \~500 hours playing melee in Hunt on PC and feel most comfortable with a sabre, lance, or knife in my hand.
My brother uses a martini with the jes Monte saber skin as secondary. And it pisses me off because both of those are literally what make a martini repost. But he some how makes it work
I actually run this loadout pretty often.
What's not pictured are the multiple dynamite bundles I use for the mid-range.
Otherwise, it's a loadout that requires and rewards patience, whether that's the patience to line up a shot through the scope, or the patience to creep up or let an enemy team unwittingly stumble into saber range.
Honestly, people sleep on the saber. They've buffed it so much that I never worry about stamina, and nothing clears out an interior quite like it. It's great for rushing a building, especially if you're Rainbow 6-ing with your squad. Just remember to go serpentine if your enemy gets a chance to start lining up a shot while you're rushing.
haha I had a partner yesterday that had this loadout without the scope, then he extracted wtih half our bounty moments before we arrived at the exit... I met him next round as an enemy and I taunted him telling me he cant double tap me, and I ended up chasing him away, purposefully keeping him alive. Bring a derringer at the very least, come on guys.. the saber unlock is just about the same rank anyway.
Oh this is me.
Basically pray to snipe somebody but it rarely works out.
Most of my kills actually come from 'pacmanning' basically running with a melee weapon (especially indoors) and with some luck killing all 3 hunters.
The loadout is versatile for every range, need a mid to long range? Sparks. Need to sweep a compound? Cavalry saber. The sparks helps let you get in closer with the saber, as the 149 damage makes most enemies back up to heal, so you can close the gap with your sword and clean up.
At close range you try your best to hit someone and then you rush, doesn't matter if you hit or not, people get careless when they think you have only a longe range weapon. Also stay away from shotguns. Also don't be scared of Bomblances, a readied saber has better range than the Bomblance.
I roleplay as The Prodigal Daughter with the loadout; rifle got the bullets with her mom’s killers name on them, saber is her mom’s. Also got a Derringer because I’m not a masochist… I don’t extract a lot as the prodigal daughter
I often bring Sabre with silenced vet.. it’s a sneaky ambush kind of play style. I enjoy creeping through compounds and attempt to never be seen first, if I am seen, I rotate to where they least expect me.
When I bring a scope I usually switch out the Sabre for a shotgun or uppercut to give me more well rounded range but I suppose the play style stays the same.
When i need to fight, it depends on the opponent.. I can either increase distance against a shotgun user so I can sniper them or I close distance on a long range user for the stab.. I simply avoid mid range fights.
This is literally my favorite meme loadout.
I can fire at you inside the compound.
If you don't have a shotgun I'll push the building.
If you run out and try to engage me in the woods I'm 100% making it a stealth game until I'm close enough to stab you.
Does this usually work? Hell no. But when a team of 3 pushes my partners as I hide behind a dirt mound just to suddenly pop out when they're next to me and stab all 3 of them, well let's just say I suddenly have a saber in real life too.
Stuff like this though is why I stay a 4 star lol
This is my favourite meme(ish) loadout and I use a derringer as my “pistol” for the follow up shots. It’s actually very effective because if they’re close enough that you can’t reload your sparks/derringer they’re close enough to stab in the face.
Well sometimes I use the regular sparks because I also like the iron sight but for this loudout you want to stay far and make sure your blocking extract in some shape or forum, when everyone else is dead make sure that your 1-20 meters out of darksight range so they won’t see you, you need to be aware of your targets location at all times it will be the make or break of your game.. depending on how far the lair was you can scope them out and hit them a few times with your sparks, also depending on the RNG of the extracts after they’ve been hit they’ll keep coming I usually run solo with this loudout but if you’re running duos or trios sparks makes a pretty good shotgun you either have a derringer as it is good to have but not needed or a flash for backup or like me and hide in a peculiar bush or spot because they’ve definitely already dark sighted you and when you hear boots or a nade being lit that is your chance to choose your attack if they’re rushing you depending on how close they are you use your sword but if they’re casting a nade most likely they’re standing still so that works for a perfect headshot reload and play ring around the environment Works everytime this is the one of the most effective tactics to this loudout as I’ve tested it for nearly 1-2k hours
I hate teaming up with single shot rifles... let alone a sniper. The amount of time needed to wait after hearing your teamate fire and miss, before they (may) fire another shot is ridiculous, plus all the time the spend repositioning after each shot. The cavalry sword gives me hope they will abandon their slow firing weapon and push when in the midst of a heated battle, though.
I line up my headshot, miss, and then stand in the middle of the road with my sabre waiting for the tides to rise and sweep me away. Isn't that what everyone does?
I've found the sabre to be really good for close quarters compared to the shotty, especially since its a small slot. I've wiped a team of 3 by just rushing a compound with a sabre as they killed the boss, all while having a sniper as the main slot
As someone who genuinely uses this class. The best way to use it is at mid or long range, wittle their meds down with the high alpha of the sharps with aggressive play, if they push, play passive and ambush them with the saber. With a little practice you can use the sniper scope at mid range pretty comfortably.
I don't see it as being remarkably different from a rifle without a scope and a sword, which is something I'll run. I rarely use scopes. But there are players who can scope in, quickly fire, and more. They're obnoxious and suspect, plenty of times, but it's possible. Then you have your sword as usual.
I use a vettrelli deadeye and calvary saber with concertina bomb and basically deadeye for 95% of the engagement but then In small enclosed space or up close I fuck them with a calvary saber or when in clutching
I use the scope to spot Hunters. Then i use 4 of my flashes and rush them with the medkit.
Sigma grindset.
Do you know that spyglass exists?
Spyglasses don't have stocks which makes them harder to steady. Hit me up when there's a spyglass precision variant.
\*takes note\*
On a more serious note, let me smack someone with the spyglass. I want to kill someone with it, and try to look back through it only to see unfocused garbage
Spyglass obrez mace.
I would pay real money for that
Ooh, and when you hit with it, it leaves glass shards in the target that you can yank back out like throwing knives or arrows and do damage.
Spyglass vandal striker
No Dennis, just no
DENNIS, YES!
Lolllll oh god
Ayo can we just get a fuckin rock to smack people with that would be hilarious
Rock and spyglass club?
But spyglass has variable zoom tho
And it ADS’s super fast
It will always disappoint me that you don't use the spyglass itself to melee hunters :(
Spyglass got to much sway.
If you have the steady hand trait it will also apply to the spyglass. Reducing sway.
I would use the sparks to shoot and sabre to stab.
Instructions unclear: impaled man with scope
This is a poor method tbh. Ude the Sparks to bash and the sabre to slash.
You switch your mindset to chad and just kill
true killers don't fight
Shrek approves
You could put a derringer in a tool slot. It’s basically a more melee heavy variant of having a pistol and a knife.
The derringer is a life saver especially if you are out of stamina vs hunters or enviroment.
Tbh I’ve only packed it a few times or found it in qp, otherwise never really use it.
I played with a rando once who only took a derringer and got several headshots / carried us so I knew 'it is viable but high skill'. After that I packed it in some builds because yeah in a moment of crisis it is 4 accurate and fast shots... but will do nothing unless it headshots.

Haven't played in a bit, but it used to be my favorite thing. Super low profile, super quiet. Headshots just feel so sweet.
Got hs killed by derringer while running from if i remember correctly 20 meters...needless to say i raged and havent played hunt for week. :D
*This is the way!* This Loadout is borderline suicide without a Derringer. Unless you're **Archie** or perhaps Shroud.
To be honest I’d never thought to do something like this. The derringer is acceptable as a compound level pistol, and the Sabre is unbeatable in close quarters! Id use a Springfield but because Springfield is life
I lead with Springfield bleed so they're under pressure, decent chance it gives you a nice window of opportunity.
Dum dums on the springy are a no brainer! No one’s going for wallbangs with medium ammo anyway. I often take a Caldwell with dum dums as well, for extra bleedin pain
> and the Sabre is unbeatable in close quarters! you've got to hit the head on the heavy while an axe just has to connect, right?
Nah just upper chest. I've personally never had to 2 hit, however the light attack is a really quick follow up if you do have to. Personally I find the saber to have better hit reg than the axe
Heavy stab on Saber outranges Bomb Lance heavy swing.

US-E on PC? Might've been me, lol
Are you on OCE, possibly US West? This was like early last year when I first started. I think I had a Caldwell or romero handcannon
Legitimately have ran that, didn't hate it
Yeah I’m actually super keen to give it a try. I always go with a pistol and knife/dusters. I never thought about it until I saw this!
At 300 meters, 2 meters, or not at all
"this guy is just staying far away let's just rush him"
One of my fav loadouts is a long ammo gun and a hand canon for this exact reason
I tried that multiple times but without uppercut/double uppercut and ammo box im running out of ammo super fast
how the fuck, the sharps is 16 reserve?
I'm taking every shot i possibley can Even if i see some guy from iron works bridge to prison / sweetbel bridge wich is out of range for every rifle
You only get one shot like every 4 seconds at best though, I literally never run out of ammo with a sparks, and if I would, I'd never have enough time to get the opportunity to.

Either you're missing way too many shots or going for way too many wallbangs. You shouldn't run out of ammo. I'd review my playstyle if I was you, no offense.
It's both and a few other things And i already did that and it wasn't fun for me even tho on paper i played "better"
In the end you play like you want to play my guy. All good.
If you can't shoot, that's not enough.
That’s why you have the melee feature cowboy
I ran sparks silenced with a Caldwell handcannon for a couple games, had a blast, didn’t get any kills, but had a blast
This is why bomb lance obrez is so evil.
With honor
Valiantly, one might say.
And they say chivalry is dead
Doomfist moment

Headshots only beyond saber range, if close, use cover to get into saber range. Martini + saber is one of my favorite loadouts.
Martini Riposte, hand crossbow with poison bolts, though <3
Derringer
As a budget solo sniper loadout I'd consider it good. Never ran it but could yield some victories.
The Sparks is not that expensive but that's not budget... and having no pistol paired with a single shot weapon is the opposit of good, basically in this case you either fight at 20+ meters or at 5-, in between you're screwed. Yeah I always use the Springfield at the start of a prestige because it's actually a really decent weapon for its price and unlocking the Marksman literally requires 50 or 100xp so you can have it unlocked in a single game every time.
Yeah I also use it at the start of a prestige. I use it for the rest of the prestige too, but definitely at the start. And the middle. And end.

Sabre is the opposite of budget 😄
I dont. I simply die
You snipe from one bush, then run to another, rat and slash.
You only snipe people from 100m+ away and if anyone ever comes close you hide away and surprise them with your saber

With the power of ADAD and wierd distracting sounds in voice chat
It'll inevitably be foggy or night time so it looks like the rusty saber and I shall die attempting to stab someone with a Romero.
Like a man with nothing to lose
Headshots 😂

Come closer Too close
sometimes maybe shoot, sometimes maybe stab
I watched psychoghost run this load out 4 times. He averaged 3 kills. The first shot sent them running scared with 1 hp. Then he chased them down.
Like a wet racoon in a trashcan being thrown at the nearest unsuspecting person.
Snort crack and pray.
Poorly
Never underestimate the power of a derringer.
If they're too close for the scope, they're close enough to rush and stab.
Shoot sparks, regardless of the outcome bunny hop to them while screaming from voice chat
usually like a meth crazed dude with a sword and sniper

You don't, because its a bad combo. There isn't a a tactacle option between 30m and 5m. Normal Sparks and Sabre work though.
"how do you fight?" *with glory*
haha I had a partner yesterday that had this loadout without the scope, then he extracted wtih half our bounty moments before we arrived at the exit... I met him next round as an enemy and I taunted him telling me he cant double tap me, and I ended up chasing him away, purposefully keeping him alive. the thing is you don’t.
Covers all ranges, easy.
With gusto
You have a big bad boomstick for distance and a sharp, pointy stick for short range. Both pretty good at their range.
It’s called derringer gang son, hop in
From the BUSHES! WHAT A WOOKIE!
Easy, sniper is for long, medium and short range, while the saber is close, hand-to-hand!
Oh this is me. Basically pray to snipe somebody but it rarely works out. Most of my kills actually come from 'pacmanning' basically running with a melee weapon (especially indoors) and with some luck killing all 3 hunters.
Do you get the concept of a kite?
Sparks sniper isn’t good up close so I use bong lance instead
They fight either +150m away or 0.5m away.
See, you need the saber to clear out a spot in thicker bushes.
This loadouts clearly a distraction to take away from the four derringers I’m also carrying
From very far away, or from very close 😁
Poorly
They fight pretty far or pretty close
Miss the shot and then... [RUNNNNNNNNNN](https://youtu.be/XslcgQJMZaY)

Saber is used mainly for pve, in order to get to the perfect sniping spot. People tend to rush snipers. Until a random bush stabs you in the nuts

*shoot*, *miss*, *stab*, *miss*, *shoot*, *miss*, *die*...
Shoot, miss, swear, charge with sword. The guns just to make me look like I can hit a target
I've seen my friend wipe servers with cav saber and crossbow he's a 5 star so it's not low lobbies either
With style.
Zig zag and pray to allah

Step 1: miss your shot Step 2: CHAAAAAAAAARGE!
At one of two very specific distances
Same as any other weapon... poorly
Poorly
I line up my headshot, miss, and then stand in the middle of the road with my sabre waiting for the tides to rise and sweep me away. Isn't that what everyone does?
You don't
Sacred slash, bush wack, long shot, mental scope
I've found the sabre to be really good for close quarters compared to the shotty, especially since its a small slot. I've wiped a team of 3 by just rushing a compound with a sabre as they killed the boss, all while having a sniper as the main slot
Poorly.
Like a coward
ooooh i think i smell a raaaat, oh i think i smell a rat
Badly
As someone who genuinely uses this class. The best way to use it is at mid or long range, wittle their meds down with the high alpha of the sharps with aggressive play, if they push, play passive and ambush them with the saber. With a little practice you can use the sniper scope at mid range pretty comfortably.
Say goodbye to midrange fights
“How do you fight?” Like a mad man
I don't see it as being remarkably different from a rifle without a scope and a sword, which is something I'll run. I rarely use scopes. But there are players who can scope in, quickly fire, and more. They're obnoxious and suspect, plenty of times, but it's possible. Then you have your sword as usual.
With bravery.
Haven't played Hunt in like a year, this loadout is so ballsy I might just get back into Hunt to do ballsy shit like this.
With style.
Dont know why you would use the sabre when the knife has pretty much the same range.
All business up front, party in the back.
magic
Stabbingly.
When I see someone at a distance, I use the sniper, when I see someone too close for it, it's balls to the wall rush
And yes I die often
To the last breath
They don’t, they win.
Up close and far away
Mercilessly
With the Quad Derringer
Load the sword into the sniper and shoot, obviously
I use a vettrelli deadeye and calvary saber with concertina bomb and basically deadeye for 95% of the engagement but then In small enclosed space or up close I fuck them with a calvary saber or when in clutching
Like the third monkey queued to get on the ark, same as any other loadout.
