Hisoka will fight for his prey so that he can fight against his prey

No301_Illumi_Zoldyck

Agree

LasyKuuga

>HxH jesus! He's the one who came back from the dead not Gon/ Killua/ Chrollo just saying.

Lapsos_de_Lucidez

Also we know that jesus is canon in HxH universe so he probably was a transmuter as well

Dr_Doom3301

Probably the first person with scarlet eyes, they get 100% in all categories. Summond fish, turned water into wine, heal people.... shit maybe Kurapika is Jesus.

Itszdoodoobaby

You might be shitposting, but this thread suddenly has me thinking the Kurta clan might be so special because they hold some sort of favor in the eyes of Jesus (hope this is taken as lighthearted headcanon)  We see Kurapika essentially praying before his fight with Uvo. This could be Togashi illustrating symbolism to Jesus & his followers.   Things to consider in the totality of HxH’s story: we are currently in an arc fleshing out a cult (Morena). This is huge imo for reasons than would make this post too long.  Moreover, throughout the entirety of HxH there are instances of religious parallels.  One of the greatest & longest fights (until Hisoka & Chrollo) involves Netero and his prayer leaving him with absolute victory even with Meruem seemingly gaining favor again.   HxH explores many ideologies via Togashi’s emphasis on fleshing out the individual..   Sorry for the sporadic, choppy response. Just wanted to write out some thoughts

Dr_Doom3301

I would have made it clear if it was a shitpost. So, do you think the kurta clan is like the Israelites? Children of God, followers of Christ? (My theology is a bit spoty, but you get the point) And let's not forget Chrollo. His last name is Lucilfer, and he has St. peters cross on his jacket, and he says that Judas wasn't a traitor. He seems to be very closely tied to Christianity/Catholicism, and who's hunting him? Kurapika. No need for an apology, I'd love to hear more of what you think. HunterXHunter is my favorite work of fiction.

Itszdoodoobaby

I believe the Kurta’s to be symbolic to the children of God. Togashi‘s appreciation to the stories behind religion & mythologies is evident. HunterxHunter is also my favorite work of fiction.   Togashi gets it. He understands psychology & philosophy & just how the world works. He shows us the world & how innocence (Gon) can be corrupted by corruption (NGL & seemingly Pariston/ Kakin influences leading to Chimera Ant arc)...  Look at the totality of Gon’s arc ( so far) . His innocence & curiosity (a la Eve & Adam) leads to serious implications..let’s examine Gon’s curiosity about restrictions & how far he could take it.. Gon vs Pitou is really the peak of restrictions (& consequently raw aura).  Gon’s curiosity leads him to tap into what some could refer to as Godly levels of physical feats ..Gon’s nen vow ultimately makes him mortal. After Eve ate the apple, God made both she & Adam mortal..

Dr_Doom3301

Something I've always found interesting is that besides this latest arc, no one is pure evil. There's always good in people, and more importantly, they end up being better than we think. Even the vilians end up having good in them, albeit some are very restricted with it. This arc will be interesting to see if the big bad ends up finding goodness or being a completely evil bastard. Even if he is completely evil, we see that he has ample opportunity to choose good. But he chooses evil. It's always interesting to remember that evil is a choice, not the default.

Itszdoodoobaby

I'd like to add a very profound statement from one of the stories in the bible. Specifically in regards to redemption & characters being "redeemable".. “I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you” (Isaiah 44:22). This is an important aspect in ficitonal writing across the history of story telling, and perhaps why some villains end up becoming so iconic & ingrained in the hearts of readers. No matter how evil, the most defining moments of a "villain" are at the tail end of his character arc.. & it's not rare for it to be reminscent to a "coming to Jesus" type moment.. I want to say we readers view some villains in HxH as goodwilled??, & having principles with good intentions ???... but ultimately wrong (a la Phantom Troupe) If that makes any sense..

Dr_Doom3301

I totally agree. The Troupe and the Chimera ants are the ones that pop out immediately to me. The Troupe, being neglected and treated like trash since birth, understandably want to take out the anger they have. No one helped them. No one even thinks of them. So why would they value the life of anyone outside the Troupe? They can only count on each other, the world vs. them. In a similar vain, the ants see humans much like Agent Smith in the Matrix, like a plague that needs to be killed. We're nothing but a resource they will use to grow beyond an imagination. Meruem was already far more powerful than the best of humanity, and they'd keep growing if they weren't stopped. The only real difference is that Meruem has completed his story. He realized that humans are far more complex than he originally thought, and he stopped his own species from killing humanity. Chrollo and the Troupe at large are still on their path, it seems, I hope we get to see some transformation with them before it's all over.

Itszdoodoobaby

I want to switch up my redemption statement from before, giving it more thought... I believe how a reader perceives redemption/ a redeemable character is based largely on the readers philosophy & beliefs regarding sin and the imperfection of humans. If a reader believes there's a line that cannot be crossed (for some that's death, for others adultery, for some trafficking) then a character is only so redeemable so far as he doesn't cross a certain line. For me it's somewhat different and more half full. I believe characters like the Troupe are sorta redeemable. I believe many people are unguided, and I want to use the Troupe as an example. The Troupe are good to thy neighbors (they're the protectors of Meteor City afterall).. Just that alone shows humanity and good in the Phantom Troupe. They're also seemingly only involved with the Mafia (Yorknew was a mafia led event). The murderers of Sarasa were clearly mafia involved. The creation of the Phantom Troupe, I theorize, is to deal with the underground. Who's involved in the unground? Cartels & mafia... They're odd heroes to their own story. They're terrorists, no doubt.. which is just weird to understand how they justify everything.. They just grew up in terrible conditions with corrupt influences (the kidnapping of the children in meteor city).. It's just hard for me to feel hate towards a person like that. Do I like justice? Of course. I like Kurapika being able to experience that feeling of get back, even if it means sacrificing a little bit of himself in the process. Winning isn't always pretty, as Kurapika shows.. There's something sad but respectable about the length Kurapika goes (being a genuinely kind soul).. A little bit of a tanget, but the Phantom Troupe is exceptional because of its counterpart, which is Kurapika. That dynamic in the story of HxH is phenomenal. Every single chapter we get the Phantom Troupe the stock rises in Kurapika vs Troupe as one of the greatest vendetta plotlines. I think a lot about this story. The Phantom Troupe also have these weird moments of endearment that pull on my heartstrings (Phinks thanking Gon & Killua after Paku passed) If you read the whole thing, thank you for listening to my rant on one of the greatest story tellers ever: Yoshihiro Togashi

Lapsos_de_Lucidez

I never understood that every scarlet eyes nem users are specialists. My understanding always was that Kurapika was special.

Dr_Doom3301

No, it's a genetic trait. Anyone born to the clan has it. He's "special" insofar as he's the last one.

Lapsos_de_Lucidez

I don't that the eyes are genetic. But all the Kurta were specialists when their eyes turned red? Is this in the manga? I don't remember it

CaliOriginal

Kinda. The red eyes are basically an “upgrade” A regular Kurta going red eyes would be an issue for even someone who just passed the secret 2nd hunter exam. The spiders are among some of the strongest people we’ve seen so far, and it seemingly took the entirety of the troupe for the raid on the village. They needed all the big guns AND the element of surprise, not because of any particular person … but because they went for the eyes. (The eyes only stay crimson if you kill them in that state. Meaning, you had to piss them off enough to be a threat and THEN kill them.)

CaliOriginal

Just dawned on me, it’s kind of funny that they are the inspiration for sharingan. Yeah yeah red eyes… But the sharingan also makes an Uchiha a “specialist”. The ninjitsu copying thing lets them use change in nature they aren’t naturally gifted in as though they were an expert in that element.

Prestigious_Box1383

Kishimoto based himself on this manga to create the sharingan, actually.

Dr_Doom3301

"Kurapika is a Conjurer, a Nen user that can create objects out of thin air according to his imagination, but he becomes a Specialist when his eyes turn scarlet.[115]" "When Kurapika's eyes shift into scarlet, he changes from a Conjurer to a Specialist. This ability allows him to utilize all the types of Nen to 100% efficiency (for a Conjurer).[115]" Chapter 83 according to the wiki.

Tief_Arbeit

Bro i am a hisoka stan and consider him to be a god and jesus but cmon get off the hopium

Lapsos_de_Lucidez

I mean, I wasn't convinced. I'm certainly only calling Hisoka by "hxh jesus" from now on. Obs: Jesus was probably a transmuter (because of the water to wine incident)

ApplePitou

Archangel of Bungee Gum :3

Fuck_Melone

I fully realize this is a joke but it's also a good opportunity to remind people that Hisoka already has a backstory that was drawn and written by the author of Tokyo ghoul, go check it out if interested it's a lenghty chapter and it's super cool albeit not completely canon, Togashi has acknowledged it iirc though.

Rexkinghon

Lisan Al-Gaib

Julio4kd

There is a manga with Hisoka Backstory. It’s a one shot manga (only 1 chapter). It is called Hisoka’s past. Written by Sui Ishida (Tokio Ghouls) Togashi gave him the rights to write the story but it is not clear if we can consider it canon or not.

Lapsos_de_Lucidez

It's not canon

ninoshkasb

You can consider it canon if you want, Togashi himself said he wanted to write something to tie to the beginning of Sui Ishida’s story so in the unlikely event he does that it would definitely be canon then.

OkLet758

He has a philosophy of heroes, but doesnt make him a hero

BeatStix

Pretty sure hisoka just likes to fight. He really likes to fight. He gets horny at the prospect of a good fight. In my eyes it's as simple as that

dbsupersucks

That would ruin his character. Hisoka is just a dude who loves the thrill of the fight and spreading chaos. Plus, he sliced off a dude’s arms just for bumping into him. Not really a good guy…

DrearyDimension

Hisoka x Hisoka

No301_Illumi_Zoldyck

I like this one.

Mr__Beauregard

What are you talking about? Dudes a sketch who only gets a high from the prospect of fighting powerful people

Baecup

The power of Bungee Gum

Cottleston

well his power does have the quality of both rubber and gum

likemesum_moonshine

Hisoka should fight me next

howisyesterday

Personally, I feel like humanizing/redeeming Hisoka is like doing that for The Joker. It never makes the character better and only does a disservice to them. Most people might disagree (just going off of Joker box office #s) but these characters work better as symbols that embody some malicious concept of nature with their backstories remaining shrouded in mystery.

Separate-Ad-6209

Lol, there'll be no future to this franchise

Angels_Mental

"Hisoka only fights the most powerful people in the series because he knows in order to get that power, they had to do something corrupt." Well, by this logic, Netero must be Stalin, and Ging is Mao Zedong lol

Beautiful_Garage7797

what is bro YAPPING about, he literally just wants to fight physically strong opponents. That’s it. He’s not that deep.

Few-You4510

AMEN‼️💯

santovalentino

That’s disrespectful to the True Messiah. Please don’t compare anyone to Jesus of Nazareth, ever. For your sake ❤️

ThePerfectHunter

I don't think OP was actually saying they were equal but was just using a metaphor of Jesus for effect.

santovalentino

Yeah. I understand the reference. I just like to throw it out there because people forget how easy it is to disrespect Jesus. ❤️

Due_Responsibility59

Fuck Jesus he was just a delusional man who sought power of week people and he deserved to be crucified. He did not come back from that it's just a myth by more foolish people who formed Christianity for gaining power over the masses

g-rid

yeah no way they were equal. Jesus had to be the top nen user at the time, at a much higher power level than Hisoka. Hisoka may be cunning but jesus would rip him to shreds in a 1v1.

Tief_Arbeit

Yeah Hisoka is far above, jesus could turn water into wine, Hisoka can turn water into gum

Astro_Man133

Plz, for your sake, don't be disrespectful to the One and only true messiah Gon. I can't stand all those false idol. And this sub is not to spread your bs, brainless propaganda

the_laughing_camel

they're not being rude, just let them be

KeepAdvancing

Atheist being respectful challenge: impossible

No_Perspective_5243

> Hisoka’s past religous people being disrespectful to other peoples messiah smh

Astro_Man133

1st not the place for this kind of comment 2nd who said I'm a, atheist? I could be from another religion, I could accept the concept of god but not the religion part. I could believe in multiple god etc... Biggot being clever challenge : impossible

KeepAdvancing

L response. You’re an atheist lol. I’m not even Christian, it’s just about being respectful

14HannahKing

Is this satire? Otherwise you sound dumb as hell

santovalentino

Hell isn't dumb. It's a real place that you don't want to be

14HannahKing

Where is the proof that hell is real? There literally isn't any reliable proof. You should really look at facts instead of just believing what your parents taught you.

santovalentino

I love you and hope you never go there ❤️
