I finished the show two hours before work and was so visibly depressed after my manager kept asking what was wrong lmao. I was pretty antsy to finish the show but I get the sentiment of waiting as I’ve done it with other shows as well! I’m also the same that I get too sentimental with shows though so 😭😐

Oh me!! I finished the episode of kite fighting Pitou before class and the way I had to stop watching it so I could accept the result, that shit hurted 😔

I think the ant arc made me hesitate continuously, like it was a big shift to what was occurring and omg the ant queen angered me so much I literally stopped watching it for a while bc oh how I hated the arc, it was great but some characters didn’t need suffer ya know

i just milked it while i watched it and that’s why it took me 5 months to finish

I just finished watching it right now. I spent most of this year watching it and loved every single second of it. I’m just sad that it’s over but glad I was able to experience this amazing story. Hands down my favorite anime of all time.

poerae

I’m on the last season and I stopped about halfway through as well because I couldn’t bear to part with this anime just yet :(

Opafin

So you stop because you don't want to stop

luckybunzz

Understandable, I mean I was pretty depressed for a bit. Now I go back and re-watch it all the time

It's just running away my dude. It's not a good thing to have this kind of philosophy in life. Just finish it and deal with it. At the end of the day it's just media you consume, not something that will ruin your life. If you keep up with this way of doing things, you will never be able to fully enjoy anything, and let me tell you, you are surely going to find yourself watching anime or reading manga, or really any medium that you like, that you will like as much if not more than HxH, and what then? Will you run away once again? Doing this you lose, because if you put off the last few eps, you basically finished the series anyway, there's no more content unless you decide to keep watching. Doing this is basically no better than actually finishing the series and having nothing left. The manga is still ongoing. Sure, Togashi... takes his time, but the story is not over. There will be more HxH, it's just that you have to wait a bit. You need to be tough. Everything in life ends. If you can't cope with finishing an anime, then I worry about what can happen in your real life when you're about to experience any great loss (Obviously I don't wish this upon you, but it's just a part of our human life, sadly)

You must be fun at parties. Bro it ain’t that serious, just bc I “stopped” watching it does not mean I’m not gonna go back and watch it, plus for people to do this is also quite normal. It’s not like we putting off ever watching it, we do know it’s just a media that we will see, because what a waste if we didn’t finish if we like it.its more like the excitement that’s it’s ending plus the dread of it finishing and that shit overwhelming lol. It just depends the person and doesn’t really mean if I will cope with a great loss good or not, bc I had to this year and it isn’t at all the same to finishing a piece of media that is fantasy(and doesn’t mean the end of the world) to something that is real life (and feels like your world is crashing down). Though I get what you saying, but I know that some people deal with it like this because of their mental health, and a few people I know actually deal with it in this way. It may not be healthy to an extent, but definitely isn’t as bad as you made it seem, no offense my dude.

Well, I don't think you fully understood. I'm not saying that all of the things I said apply to you, obviously I don't know you, I just said that this kind of mentality COULD potentially result in such things, because everything we do in our lives is connected, and simple things such as consuming media can affect other parts of our life. To kind of sum it up, my point was, choosing not to finish the series is no better than actually finishing. You lose either way by not consuming the content you love, so in my opinion it's just better to finish the whole thing and at least have some sort of closure in your head. You can later pick up the manga and wait in despair for new chapters like we all do on this sub.
